STAFFORDSHIRE BULL LKA 23 Judge: Mr Steven E Thomas (Samtan) STAFFORDSHIRE BULL JUDGE LKA 23 Firstly, I would like to thank the Society for inviting me to judge Staffordshire Bull Terriers and my two stewards who made everything run very smoothly for me and made my day very enjoyable. I would also like to thank all the exhibitors for their entries and for taking all the positions in a true sporting manner. 1 Kirk & Rochelle’s Kirstaff God Of Thunder. Red with white chest. Clean head, correct bite, neat ears and nice round eyes. Good width of chest and tight well padded feet with dark nails. Level topline and enough rib for age. Moved well. 2 Jamieson-Bramley’s Tyneview Etna Nero. Brindle. Stronger than 1st. Lovely head shape, correct stop, correct bite and clean lip, dark round eyes and rose ears. Good front and feet. Level topline and good rear angulation. Moved well. Just preferred the expression on 1st. 3 Watson’s Dringshaw Masterpiece. 1 Dawe’s Marstaff Butch Cassidy. Red with white chest. Striking headpiece, strong powerful muzzle, dark round eyes and neatest of ears, correct bite with large teeth. Lovely front and feet, correct depth of brisket. Level topline and great spring of rib. Powerful back end with good angulation and correct tailset. His handler got the best out of him. A very promising youngster with a bright future ahead of him I’m sure and one I will watch with interest. 2 Jamieson-Bramley’s Tyneview Etna Nero. See 2nd MPD. 3 Cokell’s Crying Lightning Mark With Carlyquinn. 1 Sheldon’s Ch Kamaristaffs Royal Ransom At Bowtman JW. Black brindle. Powerful head with a great expression, neat ears and correct bite with big teeth. Correct front assembly with tight well padded feet. Well off for rib, short loin and well angulated rear quarters. Shown in gleaming condition. Moved and handled well, a great team. 2 Mayren’s Fergiestaffs Polar Bear. Red and white pied. Lovely head with a great expression and neat rose ears. Correct front with ample bone and tight feet. Level topline and correct rear angulation. Shown in great condition. Moved well both ways. Not much between him and 1st and I’m sure they will change places often. 3 Gabel’s Yakuza The Real Machine Of Spirit Staff’s (Deu). 1 Thomas’ Biggleswick Mr Tom. Red with white chest. Very clean and well balanced dog. Lovely head shape with neat rose ears, correct bite and clean lip. Good width of chest, ample brisket and tight well padded feet. Good spring of rib and level topline. Correct rear assembly and tailset. He moved very well both ways. Shown in great condition and handled to perfection. 2 Page’s Elitebull Mischief At Bellastaff JW. Black brindle. A very nice example. Clean cut head with enough stop, correct dentition, clean lip and dark round eyes. Correct front with ample bone and tight well padded feet. Enough rib, short coupled and correct rear angulation. Shown and moved very well. Another I think will regularly change places with 1st I’m sure. 3 Forrest & Moffat’s Chezatree The Road Warrior. 1 Kirk’s Kirstaff The First Avenger JW. Red with white chest marking. Clean, well balanced example. Very typical head shape, nice length of muzzle with plenty of strength and correct bite, dark round eyes and neat rose ears. Enough width of front, tight feet. Ample rib with short loin. Correct powerful rear quarters and correct tailset. Moved and handled well. 2 Beckwith’s Ginstean Good Luck Charm. Black brindle. Stronger type than 1st but still very well balanced throughout. Powerful head, correct bite and neat ears. Straight front with great feet and ample brisket. Great rib, topline and rear quarters. Moved well both ways. 3 Lowe & Kaur-Hayre’s Big Man On Mac Dui Shawrigg JW. 1 Harwood’s Marstaff The Revenant. Red with white front. A very eye-catching example. I liked everything about him, he oozes breed type for me. Strong powerful head, correct bite with large teeth and correct rose ears. Strong neck leading to very well placed shoulders. Clean front and the tightest of well padded feet. Level topline and plenty of rib. Powerful well angulated rear assembly and correct tailset. His handler got the very best out of this boy. He moved liked a dream both ways. Very pleased to award him the DCC today. I’m sure the other two won’t be far away. A credit to his owner and breeder. 2 O’Connor, Fisher & Scanlan’s Vergarastaff White Bear Chezatree (Imp Esp). White. Another great example. Punishing head with a strong muzzle and correct bite. Strong powerful neck. Correct front, well off for bone and ample brisket. Plenty of rib, level topline and powerful rear quarters. Moved well both ways. One I was pleased to award the DRCC. Good luck in the future. 3 Robinson & Marsh’s Hamason Fynnbar Firecraker. 1 Parker’s Ch Jackabyte Boletoro At Nettleworth. Black brindle. Another very nice example of the breed with so much type, he just stood out in the class for me. Beautiful clean well proportioned head with correct bite and clean lip, dark round eyes and neat rose ears. Strong neck leading to very well placed shoulders. Tight well padded feet and correct front. Level topline and ample rib. Correct rear assembly and tailset. He was shown in beautiful condition. Moved and handled like a dream. 2 Arntzen & Manito’s Ch Catstaff’s Used To (Nor). Black brindle. Well, what can I say about this boy that hasn’t been said before? He’s a great example of the breed, so well balanced throughout and a great blend of bull & terrier. His owner gets the very best out of him every time and the true Stafford spirit he possesses. For me, on the day, I just preferred the head shape on 1st but these two will change placings often I’m sure. 3 Stanway’s Waystaff Strikes Mayhem. 1 Lewis’ Ch Biggleswick Splash Of Ginge. Red with white chest. Standard dog. Lovely head shape, distinct stop, dark round eyes and correct bite. Straight front with tight well padded feet. Good spring of rib and level topline. Powerful rear quarters and correct tail carriage. This boy could still hold his own against the very best of them, his condition is a real credit to his owners. He moved with power and drive. Handled very well. BVIB. 2 Jordan’s Ch Dazmarnic Know Wot I Mean JW ShCM. Red with white on chest. Standard size. Another very good example of the breed. Beautiful head shape with a strong muzzle and correct bite. Lovely front with tight well padded feet. Great drop of brisket, well sprung ribs and level topline. Good rear angulation and correct tail carriage. Shown and handled very well. 3 Cartes & Gabel’s Over The Top Of Spirit-Staff’s (Deu). 1 Mitchell’s Our Little Cracker VW. Top size blue dog. Clean head and front. Well off for bone and tight feet. Good spring of rib and level topline which he held on the move. Correct bend of stifle. Moved well. MPB (14,4) 1 Harkin’s Carndonagh Cathy From Harkline. Black brindle. This girl was full of breed type from head to tail. Beautiful head shape of great proportions, strong muzzle with correct bite. Good front and tight feet. Enough brisket and rib for age. Short coupled with good rear assembly. She was handled very well. A very smart puppy. 2 Hopgood’s Antroboss Call Me Bonnie. Red with a very nice head shape, strong but feminine. Well off for bone, good front and enough brisket. Correct shoulder placement. Ample spring of rib and level topline. Strong well angulated rear quarters and correct tailset. She moved well both ways and was handled very well by her lady handler. 3 Hopkins’ Trufflestaff Queen Aminatu. 1 Stewart & Dickenson’s Flashstaff Storyteller By Aymstaff. Black brindle with white front and feet. This girl really caught my eye as soon as she entered the ring. She is pure quality from nose to tail, so much breed type. Beautiful classy head shape, strong but feminine, correct bite, dark round eyes and neat rose ears. Correct front with ample brisket and tight feet. Strong neck leading to very well placed shoulders. Level topline, short loin and powerful well constructed rear quarters. She moved like a dream for one so young. Her handler got the very best from her. She pushed hard for the RCC in the final line-up. One I will watch with interest. BPIB. 2 Gallagher’s Alshancorn Says Who. Black brindle with white chest. Standard size. Another very typical example. Beautiful head shape with a great expression, lovely dark round eyes and correct bite. Correct front with good feet, enough brisket. Level topline and ample rib for age. Good rear assembly and correct tailset. Moved and handled very well. Just lost out to 1st on a bit of maturity but a very nice puppy. 3 Moffat’s Glenskyra Arran Aurora For Kargonstaffs. 1 Plumstead’s Kamaristaffs Royal Gem At Jazostaff JW. Black brindle. Beautiful type. Her head is so well shaped with dark round eyes, neat rose ears and correct bite. Correct front with good drop of brisket and tight well padded feet. Strong neck leading to very well placed shoulders. Level topline with ample rib and short loin. Very well constructed rear assembly and correct tailset. She moved with drive as expected of one put together so well. Handled to perfection. 2 Jefferson’s Alport No Surrender. Black brindle. Another from the top drawer. Quality bitch with a beautiful head and expression, correct bite, clean lip and neat rose ears. Lovely straight front and tight feet. Very well put together and moved very well. I’m sure these two could change places on many occasions. 3 Constant’s Sikaistaff Cask Strength. 1 Holmes’ Barielle Special Edition. Black brindle. Beautiful example. Excellent head shape, distinct stop, good length and width of muzzle, dark round eyes and neat rose ears giving her a lovely keen expression. Straight front, tight well padded feet, ample bone and correct depth of brisket. Well off for rib and level topline. Correct rear assembly and tailset. Shown and handled very well. Another I think will go all the way to the top. 2 Murphy’s Aurora At Brockmar. Another bitch of great type and style, very good blend of bull & terrier. Beautiful head shape, correct bite, dark round eyes and neat rose ears. Strong neck leading to well placed shoulders. Correct straight front with lovely tight feet. Ample depth of brisket and plenty of rib. Level topline and good back end. She moved very well both ways. Handled to perfection, well done. Another with a great future ahead of her. 3 Shipp’s Ch Delacour Sweetest Taboo For Idyllicstaff JW. 1 Cartwright’s Elitebull Skyefall JW. Black brindle. This one caught my eye as soon as she entered the ring. Beautiful example. Her head is of great proportions, correct bite, neat rose ears and dark round expressive eyes that give her a beautiful expression. Straight well boned front, tight well padded feet and ample depth of brisket. Plenty of rib, correct topline and short loin. Powerful rear quarters which helped her move with power and drive. She moved like a dream and was handled superbly. Was very pleased to award her BRCC. I am sure she will go to the very top and one I will watch with interest. 2 Bowman’s Sikaistaff All Of Me At Kamiflo. Another black brindle of great shape and style. Clean well shaped head with correct bite, dark round eyes and neat ears. Correct front assembly and tight feet. Nice overall body shape. Moved well both ways. 3 Lloyd-Williams’ Cwmhâf Cariad. 1 Jackson’s Jackabyte Nemesis. Black brindle. Another one straight from the top drawer. Super head of great proportions, correct bite with large teeth, dark round eyes and neat rose ears. Strong neck leading to well placed shoulders. Straight front, lovely feet and plenty of brisket. Well off for rib, level topline and strong angulated rear quarters. She was shown in fantastic condition, a real credit to her owners. Moved and handled to perfection. Another I’m sure that will go to the top. Well done. 2 Hall’s Geordiestaff Nee Botha JW. Black brindle. Another super looking example. Clean head with good length of muzzle, distinct stop and lovely neat ears. Straight front, ample drop of brisket and great feet. Level topline with plenty of rib. Correct rear quarters and tailset. She moved very well both ways. 3 Emery’s Eclypstaff Strange Magic For Casails. 1 Van Wijk’s Just Flawless V/D Betuws Glorie (Nld). Black brindle. Now this one was my star of the day. Just loved everything about her, she has such ring presence. Her head is so clean with a beautiful expression, neat rose ears and dark round eyes that just followed me around wherever I stood. Clean well boned front and super tight well padded feet. Strong neck and very angulated front assembly. Level topline, correct width and depth of rib. Great rear angulation with correct tail carriage. She moved around the ring like she owned it. Couldn’t look at her wrong. She was handled to perfection, her lady owner knew how to get the very best out of her and she sure did. It was a pleasure to award her the BCC & BOB. Very well deserved, well done. 2 Parker’s Ch Elitebull Mojito At Nettleworth. Black brindle. Another beautiful example. So well put together, very balanced throughout. Lovely expression, correct bite, distinct stop and lovely eye placement. Correct straight well boned front with great feet and correct depth of brisket. Ample rib, level topline and short strong loin. Well angulated rear quarters. Moved with drive. Shown in beautiful condition and handled to perfection. 3 Wall’s Ch Goldwyn She’s The One. 1 Copland’s Roughnecks Special Edition. Red. A great overall shaped example. Clean head with correct bite and neat ears. Straight front with ample brisket and tight feet. Good topline and correct rear angulation. The young man handler could show a few of us how it’s done. He showed this girl so well, what a team and they worked so well together, a real credit to you. Well done. 2 Robinson, Robinson-Cox & Cox’s Studstaff Sugar And Spice Of Hamason JW. ShCM. Red with white front. Stronger type to 1st but lots to like. She has a very clean head of good proportions, neat ears and correct bite. Straight well boned front with correct drop of brisket. Level topline, well off for rib and good rear quarters. Moved and handled very well. 3 Walker’s Delicious Daydreamer At Teshleystaf. 1 Mills’ Blue Boy Winner. Blue. Standard size. Clean well proportioned head and correct bite. Clean well boned front and good feet. Ample brisket, plenty of rib and level topline. Correct rear assembly. Moved well both ways. |
