STAFFORDSHIRE BULL LKA 22 Judge: Mrs D Taylor (Niatona) STAFFORDSHIRE BULL JUDGE LKA 22 MPD (3) A collective critique for this class as although lacking numerically these were 3 very nice but raw baby boys. All of them had super heads for youngsters, although slightly different. They had the same good fronts and all 3 had proper baby back ends that will come together. This isn’t a criticism as such, it’s just the way some youngsters grow and develop and these 3 lads have all the time in the world. 1 Page’s Elitebull Mischief At Bellastaff. Won this class on overall type and togetherness. 2 Liggins & Curd’s Highbourne Lordofthedance At Knockon (Imp Aus). A proper baby who beat 3rd on his shorter coupling. 1 Durell’s Hamason Greatest Showman. Smart as a dart this fella is. Very flashy red and white who is just erring on the side of having perhaps a bit too much bone and substance, so I hope he doesn’t get too much more with maturity. Beautiful puppy throughout, he is so well balanced and moves out with purpose. His head is a tad fleshy but he has super width to his foreface and underjaw. He excels as the overall package and is handled to get that extra sparkle that makes you look twice. BPD. 2 Thomas’ Biggleswick Mr Tom. Another lovely puppy with a rich red colour to die for. He is gorgeous stacked and has a striking shape and outline. His bone is ample without being overdone and he has a lovely width and depth to his brisket which secured him this place. He moves better in front and holds a smashing topline whilst doing so. 1 Lowe & Kaur-Hayre’s Big Man On Mac Dui Shawrigg. Topsize red fawn lad who I hope doesn’t mature on too much. He has a beautifully balanced head with just the right amount of width and depth to give it that gorgeous shape without coarseness. Great front assembly but handler does have a tendency to over widen, this throws everything out. He is a super mover and holds his topline very well. 2 Butler’s Alport On Tour. A very close decision between these two dogs but this black brindle just wasn’t as forward as the winner. Lovely head and expression and a smashing body shape to boot. He won over the 3rd by his better front. 1 Stanway’s Waystaff Strikes Mayhem. Lovely headed red and white pied dog although a tad fleshy. He scores heavily behind the collar where he shows a super shape and outline. I loved his powerful drive from his quarters which are well muscled. Fab condition which only went to enhance his sound movement both fore and aft. 2 Blow’s Scoutor Rogue One JW. Another short coupled shapely dog with a super head. He is not dissimilar to the winner in the virtues of his body shape but just not quite the condition. Lovely moving dog with reach and drive. 1 Stanway’s Waystaff Crackerjack. Powerful, decent headed red dog with lots to like. What struck me was his overall shape and outline. There isn’t a stand out thing that smacks you it’s just he goes together without anything being amiss. He was shown in terrific condition and moved as sound as a pound. 2 Summers’ Tillcarr Fire Dynamic At Warriorstaff. Super typey dark brindle who just didn’t have the width or depth of brisket as the winner. He scored over the 3rd with a shorter coupling. He is a very balanced dog with a super back end and moved rather well. 1 Price & Biddlestone’s Pridesdale Red Gunner. I swear my heart skipped a little beat when I laid hands on this fella. What a stallion of a dog, fine upstanding red lad that just oozes class. A gorgeous chiselled head without being overdone with round eyes that are perfectly placed to give a piercing expression. His front is fabulous, from his weight of bone to shoulder placement and a correct depth of brisket. He flows through his shapely but stylish body to great hindquarters that are balanced with his front. He beat 2nd by virtue of his more shapely quarters and strength of drive from them. I fully expect this fella to have a great future. DCC. 2 Plumstead’s Callastaff Son Of The Moon. Just to clarify this super black brindle dog is not lacking in hindquarters, the winner just has the edge. What a smart and classy dog this is and this was a close decision for me. Another with a super head that is clean and has plenty of width through the underjaw. As with the winner he has a great general body shape and is soundly constructed. His profile on the move was eye-catching and correct and he beat a fabulous Open Dog winner for the RCC. He was expertly handled by an Elf and I am sure he is another with many good days in front of him. DRCC. 1 Arntzen & Manito’s Ch Catstaff’s Used To (Nor). One of my absolute ringside favourites of the last couple of years and I was excited to judge him. What a smart dog this is, he just screams type at you. He is the blackest of brindles that ticks all of the boxes and I loved him, just loved the CC and RCC winner a fraction more. His head is textbook, his body is shapely, his front is straight with a slight turnout of foot and his back end assembly is correct. Deciding factor for the RCC was the better width of thigh on the Limit Dog but I was nit-picking. 2 Parker’s Ch Jackabyte Boletoro At Nettleworth. A bit more of him all round but wow this is smart! Black brindle out of the top drawer with a slightly different shape to the head, not as piercing in the expression as the winner. His front is fabulous with a terrific weight of bone without it being too much. Super shapely in the body and he was an absolute credit to his owners, fit as a flea and gleaming. He had loads of drive on the move and I am sure he will be battling the top spot quite a lot. 1 Mayren’s Ch Bellarouge Adonis At Fergiestaffs JW. First the elephant in the room. His tail isn’t good. It is set on correctly but it’s a curled tail on an otherwise beautiful dog. A very flashy red and white dog who is worthy of his title. Super headed dog with width and depth without it being overdone. He still has the neck of a bull that leads onto great shoulders. Great front, feet, brisket and rib which won him this class. Moved soundly both ways. BVIB. 2 Rowe & South’s Illori Akinlana JW ShCM VW. Gleaming black brindle in fabulous order. He doesn’t have as much fill under the eye as the winner but still houses a great headshape. He lacks sternum which decided this placing. Super drive from behind and held a level topline. 1. Hemstock & Sanjesh’s Blazen Staff’s Over The Top Jolihem (Imp Deu). Red and white dog with a super head and good expression. This fella has muscles on his muscles that enhanced his well proportioned front assembly. Lovely width and depth to the brisket with plenty of heart room that secured him this class. He moved better coming and held a level topline. 2. Rowe & South’s Illori Akinlana JW ShCM VW. See 2nd VD. 1 Cartwright’s Elitebull Skyefall. This is drop dead gorgeous! I feel I am about to wax lyrical and waffle but this little lady blew me away. Immaturity and bits of rawness stopped me putting a big prize on her young shoulders. Absolute divine head at this age with loads of underjaw. She is super in front with correct bone and a slight turn out to well padded feet. A little lacking in rib at the minute but short in the coupling. She had a cracking back end for a baby and moved correctly both ways. BPB & BPIB. 2 Sandford’s Skyestaff’s Unspoken. A lovely but raw black brindle puppy who was beaten by the better front of the winner. Her front doesn’t appear to be wrong; she is just wobbly and immature – just as a minor puppy should be. With time I expect this baby to turn heads as everything is there, it just needs to develop. 1 Cartwright’s Elitebull Skyefall. See 1st MPB. 2 Evans’ Thebilecious Vuelo De Fenix At Bearific. A beautiful red and white baby beaten by a beautiful baby. I just thought she was delicious although slightly longer cast than the winner. She is a super little mover and I am sure she will go on to better things. Lovely front and feet matched by powerful well angulated quarters. Another little cracker. 1 Hamilton & Murphy’s Bonnie Lass Of Angels Peak Shawrigg. What an absolute superstar this bitch is, she gave me goosebumps and that doesn’t happen often. She had to be special to beat a beautiful black brindle into 2nd place. This young lady is red and white and just flows from one part to the next. Elegant is not a word that should ever be used to describe a Stafford but that is what she is. Super clean front supported with good weight of bone and correct feet. She mirrored her correct front with correct quarters and the middle bit is what won her this class. She has super rib without it being too much, the shape of her is just smashing. Her head is the most perfect blend, not too much but plenty oomphy to give you a shiver and the black eyes just pierce through you. She dared me with those and I succumbed! A stunning mover who has reach and drive and is as sound as a pound, thank you so much for bringing her. BCC & BOB. 2 Quinn’s Callastaff Five Years At Bowferry. A beautiful black brindle bitch who was beaten by the slightly better rib of the winner. I just wish I had of had another top prize at the end as this young lady was almost there. Gorgeous head and expression with a correct body to back it up. She moves soundly, with purpose and super drive from her quarters when she settles down. I am sure we will be seeing her name in lights in the future. 1 Campbell’s Foyllforsdal An Dui Re. A super typey brindle who ticks all the boxes. She has a lovely head shape although not quite as striking in the expression as the 2nd place. Lovely front on her supported on good boned legs. She has a smashing body shape and ample spring to her rib. She moved soundly both ways. A right good honest bitch is what I said in my notes. 2 Thompson’s Alport Dark Queen. Beautiful headed bitch with a gorgeous expression but not as short coupled as the winner. This black brindle has lots to like, good bone, brisket and shoulders and she drives well when moving. 1 Seymour’s Dekayro Sweet Grace Olivia. I would have dearly loved to have seen this bitch in condition. Gorgeous head and expression on this beautiful brindle girl. She is a super sound and very classy bitch that won her this class despite the extra pounds. Super straight front that moved as such to match her driving back end. If she starts counting her syns she could go further. This class gave me a headache but it was a good headache to have. The first four had my head in a pickle and it took some working out for all good reasons. 1. Bissell’s Elitebull Solitaire. Cards on the table time – from my photo’s post show this bitch’s colour is a tad suspect but in the light of the venue nothing hit me as off. That said this girl is a bit special and was in my final four for top honours. Beautiful feminine head that shows strength without any coarseness. She has the most gorgeous expression that just gets you, well it did me. She is just honest and lovely and one bit flows into the next without any exaggeration. She moved soundly and with reach and drive to win a very good class. 2 Hands & Freeman’s Skyestaff She Conquered JW. She was placed 2nd because of slightly less bone than the winner. Again this is a beautiful bitch with so much to like. Piercing expression, good front but don’t stand her feet facing in please. Great depth of brisket, good rib, short coupled and another that is sound in movement. I was absolutely splitting hairs with these placings. 1 Arntzen & McDermott’s Catstaff’s Say Goodbye (Nor). Exquisitely headed black brindle who won a fabulous class of top class bitches. She didn’t take the 1st easily and won this on her shorter coupling. This girl has the WOW factor, absolutely beautiful from nose to tail. She was beaten for the CC by the slightly better bone of the Junior bitch but this girl isn’t undercooked. As I have already mentioned, her head and expression is to die for and this is matched with her overall construction which enabled her to move soundly both fore and aft. A bitch from the top drawer that has Champion written all over her. BRCC. 2. Turley’s Ch Loyalstaff Bella Bambina At Eastreet. From ringside this is one I have been dying to get my hands on and she certainly didn’t disappoint. She is longer cast than the winner but she is super special. A beautifully blended head shape which actually reminded me of her breeders Champion bitch of days long gone by. The class just oozes from her and another who was super sound on the move. She was rock hard and gleaming and shown to perfection. Thank you for bringing both these Queens for me to judge, I really do appreciate the honour of having them here. 1 Daly-Lees’ Starolestaff Arabella At Boscador. Black brindle lady who has a decent head although her ears detract slightly. Super front on her supported on good feet. She moved purposely showing sound movement both ways. She was nice and firm to the touch and shown in lovely nick. 2 Turner’s Tidestaff Mystical Magic. Dark brindle bitch with age catching her a wee bit. Like the winner she still has a decent head shape and a super front. She is slightly shorter in the coupling but didn’t move as well behind. 1 Daly-Lees’ Starolestaff Arabella At Boscador. See 1st VB. She won this class by virtue of her shorter coupling. 2 Hemstock & Sanjesh’s Jolihem Ugly Betty. Fawn bitch who didn’t have the fill under the eye and rise of skull of the winner. She was turned out in fantastic order, not an ounce of fat and shapely as you can get. She moved soundly both ways.
