STAFFORDSHIRE BULL JUDGE LKA 13

Staffordshire Bull Terriers

I would like to thank the LKA for inviting me to judge Staffords in an honorary capacity. The hospitality was good & it was very well organised. I would also like to thank my two very able ring stewards, who kept the proceedings running smoothly. I was pleased with my overall entry but disappointed with the number of absentees. I hope that the LKA will soon be able to offer CCs again for our breed as I don’t think it works as a non CC show.

JD (2,1a)

1 Fulford’s Elitebulls Heartbreaker for Regalbull, b/br, standing alone but outstanding. He has a great head shape, good ear carriage, dark round eye, big correctly placed, clean, teeth in a strong underjaw. Good body shape that will get better as he matures, lovely straight front, feet to die for, round & well padded. Enough bone, level topline kept on the move. Good tail carriage. Presented in very good condition. RBD.

PGD (4,2)

1 Daly’s Michenil Magical Midnight at Boscador, blue, 4 years old & in good condition, well muscled, short coupled, good front, OK mover, nice head shape, light eye but in relation to coat, ears OK, slightly undershot;

2 Smart & Worthy’s Fifa Blue blue & white chest, good head, big teeth, light eye, OK ear carriage. Good parallel movement, longer cast that 1, good rearend.

OD (5,1)

1 Jones’ Blazinstaff Light My Fire, r/w, I judged this boy when he was still a puppy & my thoughts about him are still the same, he is lovely. He was turned out today in excellent condition. Super head & expression, lovely ears, big clean teeth housed in a strong muzzle, round eyes. Neck that flowed into strong well placed shoulders. Good straight front & lovely round tight feet. Level topline which he kept on the move. Nice tuck-up & loin & strong, powerful rearend driving him along. He looked a picture. BOB;

2 Fairhurst’s Fairlenium’s Snow Patrol, b/w pied. Amazing well turned out & expertly handled powerfully built dog. Head is strong, eyes dark, ears OK, & lovely big teeth in strong muzzle. Lovely mover not quite as good as the first dog but moved along by powerful backend. Good front. Well ribbed, neat tuck-up & very well in at the loin;

3 Price’s Little Beau Geste.

JB (5,1)

1 Desmond’s Elitebull Elegance, very promising young lady. She watched me around the ring & demanded my attention. Really nice feminine head, dark eye, lovely rose ears, big teeth housed in good muzzle. Shown in fit condition, good front, lovely well padded feet, good topline, strong backend, & well set tail. Pushed hard for bigger awards but at just 14 months needs to mature just a smidge more;

2 Jones’ Rougestaff Flaming Ice, r/w pied, another 14 month old girl, super fit & handled well. Head OK with good stop, dark eyes, ears OK, & dentition good. Front straight, good topline held on move, good rib, well set tail. Good bend of stifle, good movement going & coming;

3 Alport Miss Dior.

PGB (3,2)

1 McDermott’s Macadermus Summer Lady, b/br, on her own in this class but a pleasure to go over. Lovely head, nice stop, dark eye & eyes creating a feminine expression. Good front, topline OK, moved well.

OB (5,1)

1 Stokes’ Oxstoks Cherry Blossom, r/w, this girl is much better hands on than you first think. She has a lovely head with very dark eyes & the neatest of rose ears creating a very pleasing expression. She is short coupled, straight fronted, great brisket & rib. Lovely backend, good tail carriage, nice topline on the move to & fro. Would have liked her to have neater feet but my only criticism. BB;

2 Desmond’s Elitebull Serenity, another cracker from this kennel. Although slightly longer cast than 1, she has a terrific body, well muscled. Head of beautiful feminine proportions lovely dark eye & ear carriage setting a lovely expression, lovely dentition. Topline OK & held on the move. Good front, neat feet. RBB;

3 Alvis’ Northern Lights.
