East Of England 19 Judge
|
STAFFORDSHIRE BULL EAST OF ENGLAND 19 Judge(s): MR MARK DAVIES East of England Agricultural Society are a very well run club that provided myself and my wife with a very warm welcome and throughout the day, so a big thank you goes to them for inviting me to judge, and for their hospitality. Many thanks also my very able stewards Tec and Elaine Norton who do a fantastic job helping keep the ring running smoothly. The exhibitors and spectators made for a very enjoyable day and their sportsmanship is to be commended. Thanks to all those who entered and afforded me with the pleasure of assessing their dogs. It is only my opinion on the day and at other shows with other judges this can, and often will, change. Overall the quality was very good especially in the bitches. No breathing issues, inverted canines were found, and to be expected from this wonderful breed the temperaments were excellent. Fitness could have been a little better on some but this is easily remidded. Mouths on the whole were good with a few miss-placed teeth evident, so I will not mention mouths as my winners all had correct bites and canines. MPD (3, 1) 1 Gazstaffs Man In Black For Antoniostaff. Still very much a baby but this dog has got a good future ahead of him if he continues to mature in the way he has to date. His head is strong with a keen expression, dark eyes of good shape and size. His ears are neat and well placed. Muzzle of good strength. Straight in front with ample bone and neat feet. Topline is level and he has a short coupling. Rib coming along well for age. Good bend of stifle. Moved well. 2 Tillcar Master Of Fire. Top size brindle and very much a baby also. Could do with a bit more training but his handler was patient and got the best out of him. As minor puppies we cannot expect them to be like 2 years olds in behaviour. Nice head and expression with good dark eyes and correct ears. He had a straight front, neat feet. Level topline with enough rib for age. Good rear end and moved ok once settled. PD (4) 1 Chalexstaff The Heathen. Blk/brindle and white. Very mature pup for age and developing in the right direction. He has very flashy markings which draw your eye to his good width to front and ample bone. Head is strong and clean with neat ears and dark eyes. Keen expression that is more piercing when he is up on his toes. Topline is level and he has plenty of rib. Short coupled. Correct backend which showed in his movement. A very promising pup who I will watch with interest. Shown and handled well. BPD and BPIB. 2 Elitebull Avenger. Strong blk/brindle who was not as mature as first overall. His front is a straight but needs to come on but this is in relation to age. Level topline when stood and enough rib for age. Backend with good bend of stifle. He needs to settle on the move to assess him properly but still only young. 3 Elitebull Charger. JD (7, 1) 1 Ellchansha Hotshot. Standard blk/brindle who is very clean in outline. He just needs time on his side to fully mature and appreciate his qualities. Head is of good proportions with lovely dark round eyes and neat placed ears. His front is straight and enough depth of brisket. Good feet. Topline level stood and on the move. He has good bend of stifle and nice muscled hams. Moved and handled well. He is a credit to the owner for his condition. Look forward to watching his progress. 2 Jecanibo’s Just Can’t Wait To Be King JW18. Another quality dog which possessed a great head and expression. Dark eyes and neat placed ears. His front is straight and has good width. Tidy feet. Topline was level stood and on the move. Ample rib, correct rearend and moved well. 3 Chalexstaff The Heathen. YD (4) 1 Tariel Reaper At Teracota. Wow, this dog is a real live wire and his handler works his socks off to keep him in check. Loved his clean un-exaggerated head and alert expression. His eyes are dark and round and he has a distinct stop with correct head to muzzle ratio. Front is true and straight with enough depth to brisket. Good amount of bone leading down to neat feet. Topline is level stood and on the move. Short coupling and ample rib. Backend is very well muscled and enough bend to stifle. He moved with purpose and drive and covered the ground with ease. As a pup he didn’t catch my eye but as he has matured he has developed into a very well balanced dog. His fitness and overall condition were second to none. A real credit to his owners and breeders. My Dog CC winner and BOB. 2 Powerpack Kilgobnet. Another quality dog that was also very clean in outline. Darkest of eyes and another who posses a good head to muzzle ratio. Straight front with good width, ample drop to brisket and neat feet. Good topline and rib. Good rear angulation which showed on the move. Came back in for the RDCC and pushed very hard. His time will come. 3 Assilio Lisbon Lion. GD (3) 1 Chalexstaffs The Heathen. 2 Tariel Soldier Boy. Standard blk/brindle who still needs time on his side to mature on. He has a nice head and expression, dark eyes and neat ears. Front needs time to mature but is straight. He also has neat feet. Topline is level, would prefer a little more rib. Backend is correct and he moved well. 3 Boldstock Gee Tar Man St Shamara. PGD (3) 1 Northstaff Notorious. Blk/brindle that has a punishing headpiece. Good dark eye and neat ear placement. He has a straight front with enogh brisket and tight feet. Topline is good stood and on the move. Short coupling and correct rear angulation. Moved ok and handled very well. His condition is spot on a credit to his owners/breeders. Its evident the hard work that has gone into this dog. 2 Because I’m Happy Terrystaff. Blk/brindle dog that has a good strength of head that is clean. Would prefer a slightly darker eye. His front has good width and depth of brisket. Tidy feet. Topline was better stood but lost it on the move. Short coupled and good rear end. Moved and handled well and another who who was a credit to the owner for his condtion. 3 Illori Backchat. I will mention again the fitness on all these three dogs was a credit to the owners. LD (11, 2) 1 Elitebull Black And Brass JW. Good powerful head that has dark eyes and neat ears. Keen expression. He has a straight well boned front and tight feet. Level topline with ample rib and short coupling. His rear assembly is correct and that showed in his movement. A lovely sound dog who just looked a little jaded in the final line-up. 2 Edgeworth Arturo. Balanced throughout from head to tail. His head is clean and has good dark eye and well placed ears. Straight front with good depth of brisket and tidy feet. Level topline and enough rib. Well muscled quarters and he moved well once settled. He certainly makes his handler word hard. 3 Illori Akinlana JW ShCM. OD (7) 1 Balthazar V/D Betuws Glorie. I put in my notes how sound a dog this was. He possessed a good clean head with dark eyes and well placed ears. Strong straight front with good depth of brisket. Good amount of bone and neat padded feet. Topline is good, stood and on the move. Ample rib and short coupling. Sound rear quarters that enabled him to cover the ground with ease. Another excellent quality dog that could gain his title. Straight front with enough depth of brisket. Good bone and neat feet. Topline is level stood and on the move. Short coupled with a good bend to stifle. JB (9) Firstly I must mention what a cracking class of bitches this was on my initial inspection. 1 Ellchansha Once Upon A Time JW. This bitch just screamed quality at me. Straight out of the top draw and I am confident it wont be long before she gains her crown. This bitch has it all for me from her head to the tip of her tail. She was on form and made her handler work very hard. The head is like its sculptured and is so clean. Piercing dark eyes that dare you to look past. Her head to muzzle ratio is spot on and there is strength without exaggeration. True straight front, good depth to brisket and nice tight feet. Her topline is level both stood and on the move. Plenty of rib and a close coupling. Good bend to stifle with firm muscletone. She moves very well covering the ground with ease once she decides to settle.
