STAFFORDSHIRE BULL JUDGE DRIFFIELD 14

Staffordshire Bull Terriers

I enjoyed my day judging the breed again they are such a pleasure. There were some top quality exhibits & all were in wonderful condition & a credit to their owners. I found a few carrying their tails too high & there were five with inverted canines. All the dogs were new to me which I found very satisfying. Thank you to my two stewards.

MPD (2,1a)

1 Gavin & Glew’s Bullmitz Red Marauder at Merlinstaff, red very much a baby, he was good for size & substance, the promise of a good head, would like a tighter lip & he was quite sound for his age.

PD (5,1)

1 Peters’ Kimstaff Vitani, nice young b/br, well balanced head, good eye, strong underjaw, short powerful neck, very good front & shoulder, correct ribcage & loin, well bent stifles & short hock, in top condition, moved soundly;

2 Halifax’s Jackstaff Spanish Gold, well balanced red, good head & strong underjaw, powerful neck, good front, strong ribcage & well coupled, not as mature as one & just needs to change his coat, very sound & well presented;

3 Jackson’s Roughnecks Justice F.

JD (5,1)

1 Martinez’s Bullbrothers Dr Who, very good type of brindle, strong enough head, good neck & front, well ribbed & he is short, correct hindquarters & sound, would like a better tail carriage;

3 Butler’s Ramblestaff Cos I Could.

YD (5)

1 Martinez’s Bullbrothers Fifth Element, very like the winner of previous class & could not be denied his position;

2 Thomas’ Biggleswick Funky Devil, r/w/pied, nice type of dog, just preferred the head & front of winner;

3 Higgins’ Acrestaf Or.

PGD (10,2)

1 Thomas & Thomas’ Samtan Black Justice, b/br with a cracking head, well balanced with a good underjaw, well shaped body & good rib well bent stifles where he just beat the second dog;

2 Patrick’s Welshstaff Last Gasp, ran the winner very close, another lovely type in top condition & very sound;

3 Southworth’s Albermarbull Gambler for Staffmaster.

LD (22,4)

1 Beeby & Watson’s Geordiestaff Dynamo Dexter, b/br of a lovely type, strong head & good ears, short strong neck, good rib & he was very compact, strong hindquarters & very sound, in top condition;

OD (14,1)

1 Matviakova & Choma’s Satip Sorboss at Vrabarbull, b/br of the most lovely type, his head is so well balanced, strong underjaw & neck, super front, very good in rib & loin, strong quarters & moved so soundly, in top condition & well handled, I loved him. CC & BOB;

1 Fletcher & Seedhouse’s Jsy Ch Granitangel Zircon, b/br of a good type, well balanced head & body, good front & was very sound.

1 Harrison & Roper’s Trawden Ice & Spice, I just loved this r/w/pied baby, so full of quality, well balanced feminine head, lovely front & body proportions, well bent stifle & moved soundly for her age, in time should go to the top;

2 Hepburn & Redshaw’s Torostaff Northern Dream, b/br, again full of type & was sound, just lost out to winner on head;

3 Evans’ Willowstaff Double Top to Sleetmoor.

PB (8)

1 Plant’s Bethaleese Black Betitina for Kyraloebis, brindle of lovely type, strong well balanced head with strong underjaw, very good rib & body for her age, strong hindquarters & well bent stifles, moved very soundly, was in top condition. BPIB;
