STAFFORDSHIRE BULL MANCHESTER 24 Judge: Mr Kevin Brown & Mr Andrew May STAFFORDSHIRE BULL JUDGE DOGS MANCHESTER 24 I would like to thank the committee of Manchester Championship Dog Show for the invitation to come and judge Staffordshire Bull Terrier dogs at “The Classic”. I would also like to thank my husband and wife team of stewards Mr.& Mrs. Dufty who kept things running smoothly all day. Last but not least goes a thanks to all the exhibitors for the sporting way they took my decisions. Minor Puppy Dog (10 entries, 3 absents) 1 Moorcrofts Ellchansha Charm the Devil at Moorstar, Well he certainly charmed this devil!! 6½ months old dog of excellent size & type, well made head with good ears & eyes. Correct bite with good nostrils, short strong neck with good shoulders. Excellent front for age with good legs & feet. Compact body with good topline. Well made hindquarters, he moved well & had a good coat. Still needs to develop in body but for me he has great potential. I made him Best Dog Puppy & he became Best Puppy in Breed by the decision of the Referee Mrs. Patsy Hollings. 2 Deens Ellchansha The Devil in Me at Tondoo, Litter brother to winner & has many of his attributes. His novice handler did a good job in showing him & got his reward in the Special Beginners Dog Class which he won. 3 Hart & Halifaxs Jackstaff Made a Boy for Allermarbull. Puppy Dog (13,2) 1 Johnsons Tillcarr Fire Soldier, Black/brindle dog of good type & size, well made head with strong foreface and strong bite. Good eye, good neck & shoulders acceptable front with good legs & feet. Compact body with nice topline. Well made hindquarters with good turn of stifle, he moved well & had a good coat. 2 Speeds Fellknott When U Where Mine, 11 month old dog of good type, good all round dog who just did not ´put all in´ at the end, moved well. 3Thorleys Crewestaff Half Blud Prince. Junior Dog (10,2) 1 Bennetts Powerpack Singularity, 13 month old dog of good size & type, good head & expression, dark eye, neat ears. Short strong neck with nice shoulders. Compact body with good topline, well made hindquarters, correct tail-set, he moved steadily. 2 Whitleys Ginstean Fizzy Bear, 14 month old B/B dog, Well proportioned head, neat ears, acceptable eye & correct bite, Nice neck & shoulders, still needs to develop a little more in chest, compact body with level topline, well made hindquarters, good tail-set, moved well, his time will come. 3 Lloyds Kalostaff Es Lo Que Es. Yearling Dog (7,2) 1 Jones Kamaristaff Royal Rumour Jw, Really liked this almost 18 months old dog, he stands well on his legs, Excellent head with good eyes & ears, short strong neck with good shoulder placement. Good body & spring of ribs, level topline, nice tail-set, well made hindquarters. He moved well & has a good coat. But for me he was just pushing top size. 2 Hollands Deldenas Billy Miske, 18 months dog of nice type, nice head & ears, would prefer a little cleaner through the shoulders, acceptable body for age, nice topline & tail-set. Steady mover & good coat. 3 Carrs Tropical Red Rum at Almostaff. Post Graduate Dog (11,1) 1 Higginsons Fairlenium Iron King of Canisstaff, 2½ year old Brindle & White dog of good size & type, Strongly made head with good eye & ears. Strong muzzle & good mouth. Good neck & nice shoulders, good spring of rib & level topline. Well made quarters with good turn of stifle, moved soundly, good coat condition. 2 Howards Matrixstaff Knight Star, Good type & size, Good head, ears, eye & bite. Short strong neck & nice shoiulders, good body but he could be a shade shorter coupled, nicely made hindquarters, moved steadily & nice coat. 3 Kirks Kirstaff The First Avenger Jw. Limit Dog (9,2) 1 Wilsons Northstaff Nightmare Jw, Excellent size & type, excellent headed dog with all the correct details. Good neck & shoulders, good front, legs & feet. Compact body with good topline & tail-set. Well made hindquarters, he moved well & has a good coat. He is definitely not a nightmare! 2 Stillman & Grays Sikalstaff Shadow Warrior at Maidendale, Dog of good size & type, Nice head wth good ears & eyes, correct bite, short strong neck with nice shoulders. Could have a stronger front, compact body with nice topline & tail-set, moved steadily, good coat. 3 Blows Scoutor Rouge One Jw. Open Dog (6,0) This was the best class of the day, they were all high quality exhibits, a pleasure to judge. 1 Sheldons Ch. Kamaristaffs Royal Ransom at Bowtman, Beautiful Black dog seen from any angle, great power & strength. Excellent head shape with the best round dark eye, strong muzzle, excellent under jaw, super bite with big strong teeth, good open nostrils giving the best possible expression. Short thick neck with good flow through the shoulders. Excellent front with good width of chest, good bone, legs & feet. Good body with well sprung ribs & good depth of chest, level topline. Excellent hindquarters with the best turn of stifle & low hocks. He moved with good reach in front & excellent drive in the rear. Well conditioned & muscled. He has a fabulous coat which was gleaming. I was pleased to award the Dog CC and then he went on to take Best of Breed from the Referee Mrs. Patsy Hollings. I was very pleased to see him get shortlisted in the Terrier Group. 2 Arntzen & Manitos Ch. Catstaff´s Used To, Another top quality B/Br dog. Lovely shape head with all the correct details, good ears & eye. Short, strong neck with well placed shoulders, excellent front with good width, deep brisket, good bone, legs & feet. Short coupled body with good spring of ribs, level topline & correct tail-set, Well made hindquarters & he moved well. In good coat & condition. Thought that number1 had a little more drive in hindquarters, but two beautiful dogs. 3 Damens Lux Ch. Denochi´s Pride the Dominant.
Veteran Dog (1,0) Lewis Ch. Biggleswick Splash of Ginge, 9 years old red dog of excellent size & type in top class condition. Good shape of head with excellent underjaw, good ears & eyes, good bite. Short strong neck with good shoulders. Good front legs & feet. Short coupled body with good spring of ribs, level topline & good tail-set, well made hindquarters & he moved with a good stride & with good drive in hindquarters. Excellent coat & condition. I really considered him in the challenge. He was awarded Best Veteran in Breed by my co-judge Mr. Andrew Mayren & myself.
Spec. Beginners Dog (3,0) Deens Ellchansha the Devil in Me at Tondoo, See Minor Puppy Dog No.2. Cokells Crying Lightning Mark with Carlyquinn, This dog was unplaced in a large Junior Dog class, he is 13 months old & a little big for my taste. Has a good head but ears are a little big, acceptable front but he is a shade long in the body, moved steadily. Rowlands Bilrosestaff He´s the One. Judge, Kevin Brown.
