STAFFORDSHIRE BULL MANCHESTER 14 Judges: Mr Frank Marlow Dogs - Terry Cooper Bitches BEST OF BREED : 1518 BARNETT Mr & Mrs G Dracostaff Baldurs Blade STAFFORDSHIRE BULL JUDGE DOGS MANCHESTER 14 Staffordshire Bull Terriers DOGS – Firstly I would like to thank my two stewards who did an excellent job. Health-wise all the exhibits were very good, just the occasional canine fitting closely to the gum. On the finer points I like to see good rose ears. Without good ears you spoil the Stafford expression. Most of my placed dogs were of real quality which can only be good for the future of the Stafford. MP (9,1a) 1 Drummond’s Ballindona Benromach, b/br dog, nice compact pup, nice straight front, good stop & bite, level topline, strong hindquarters, moved & handled well. Should do well as he matures; 2 Park’s Ballindona Benriach, b/br, looks on the same stamp as 1. Very much alike, same qualities as 1. Lost out on maturity; 3 Gabel’s Boogle Of Spirit-Staffs. P (9) 1 Hanford’s Ginstean Black Bomber, b/br, lovely head, very mature for a pup, plenty of bone, short coupled, good topline, strong rear quarters, nice bend of stifle, handled well; 2 Grove’s Manarks Murphys Law, b/br, another tidy looking pup with clean lines, good head & bite, neat ears, tight feet. Not as mature as 1. Handled well; 3 Heron’s Manark Fast N Furious. J (16,1) 1 Southern’s Ministry Of Excellence, r/w pied, a real stunner. Lovely head, good stop & correct bite, nice rose ears, good front, short coupled, level top. Hard to fault this dog for his first show, this dog is destined for a bright future; 2 Higgins’ Acrestaf O’Grady, b/br, very clean lines, shows well, nice head & stop, dark eye, neat ears, straight front, ample bone, nice topline, good rear, moved & handled well; 3 Stone’s Zakstaff Rumour Has It. Y (11,1) 1 Ryan’s Rubericia Black Starscream, b/br, nice head, neat ears & bite, good front, nice spring of rib blending into a strong rear, looks a picture, handled well; 2 Yarham’s Engladian Oughtobefamous, b/br, good headpiece & ears, good bite, level topline, good fit dog, well muscled rear. Did not show as good as 1. Handled well; 3 Heron’s Dillrystaff Rough Diamond. PG (10,3) 1 Barnett’s Dracostaff Baldurs Blade, b/br, lovely compact Stafford, nice head, neat ears, dark eye, excellent stop, straight front, tightest of feet, good spring of rib, level topline blending into a strong rear. Good turn of stifle, a real quality dog, moved & handled well. CC & BOB; 2 Macdonald’s Magical Apache, b/br, not as relaxed as 1. Nice clean front, good head & bite. His ears were pinned back, when he relaxes he should show better & make a more pleasing picture. Handled well; 3 Evans’ Hammystaff Fire Blade. L (15,1) 1 Monestina’s Itcheboren Night Fury Dustblaze, b/br of real quality, another well balanced dog, all the attributes of the CC dog. Hard to choose between the two, seem to be out of the same mould, both stunning dogs. Moved & handled well. RCC; 2 Kimber’s Kimstaff Harry Potter, b/br, nicely balanced, lovely clean lines, making a very pleasing picture. Fits the Standard well. Moved & handled well; 3 Hart’s Albermarle Red Riot. O (18,3) 1 Plant’s Kyraloebis Italian Gigalo, b/br dog, excellent well balanced dog, stood foursquare, lovely picture, could not fault him. A dog worthy of his title. Moved & handled well. A credit to his owner & does the breed proud; 2 Bruton’s Zacstaff Black Baron, bl/br, fits the Standard well. Lovely head, dark eye, clean bite, nice rose ears, good front, tight feet, short in back, good bend of stifle. Another dog who is pushing for top honours. Handled well; 3 Davison’s Waystaff Dutch Minister. V (2) 1 Glassbrook’s Captain Ron, b/br, 7 years, in excellent condition, good clean lines, nice head & stop, good bite, dark eye, level top, looking well for a veteran, handled well; 2 Gregory’s Wildstaff Mister Machismo, b/br, 8 years, very much alike as 1. Tough decision, both shown well. FRANK MARLOW |
