STAFFORDSHIRE BULL CRUFTS 11 Staffordshire Bull Terrier Judge(s): MR C A BRINDLEY (D) - MRS M WARD (B)
STAFFORDSHIRE BULL TERRIER Dogs The ring stewards George and Sharon were excellent. I am very grateful for their services. Bad dentition in the dogs was negligible, but there were some dogs with muzzles that were too short in proportion to their large heads. The Kennel Club are striving to get owners to keep their dogs fit and healthy. We know that when we humans are over weight that it is detrimental to our good health. Well it is also applies to our canine friends, and in Stafford's many dogs carry too much weight. As I usually find there was an abundance of short and straight upper arms and sometimes forward placed shoulders. The front assembly should be so constructed as to allow the legs to stride out far enough to cope with the forward thrust from the rear legs without having to make compensations to prevent the front feet from hitting the ground too soon. As far as possible I tried to select my winning dogs to be what I considered generally, to be fairly sound in front and rear angulations and also well balanced, fit and healthy. My thanks to the exhibitors, who without exception, were pleasant, polite and sporting, which was conducive to making the show a joyful spectacle for the ringside onlookers and a happy occasion for myself.
