STAFFORDSHIRE BULL DARLINGTON 18 Judge: Mrs A Hinsley BEST OF BREED : 1373 HOLME Miss S Ch Goldstaff's Crack The Code STAFFORDSHIRE BULL JUDGE DARLINGTON 18 I would like to firstly take this opportunity to thank the officers and committee of Darlington Championship Dog Show for my invitation to award Challenge Certificates for Staffordshire Bull Terriers for the first time and my two stewards Pat and Paul who kept everything so well organised for me. But my biggest thanks goes to the exhibitors who travelled from far and wide to enter and I was very conscious that they had spent their hard earned money on my opinion of their dogs and gave me such a memorable day for my first time. I was truly spoilt for choice and absolutely delighted that my BOB was awarded Terrier Group 2 under Group judge Tom Mather and I learned after that I had awarded him his crown, my Best Veteran won the Veteran Terrier Group under Group judge Mr G Dymock and my Best Puppy was short listed in a strong Puppy group under Group judge Simon Parsons. If I ever get another day like this I will be extremely lucky, thank you to you all. VD (2) 1 Corcoran's Ch & Ir Ch & Int Ch Zakstaff Whats The Story At Molru. 8 year old black brindle dog in his absolute prime and not showing his age at all, strong, powerful head with clear stop, dark, round eye and correct dentition all there housed in powerful jaws with the required cheek bumps. He has a good straight front, great depth of brisket and rib and powered by strong hind quarters. He moved as expected of this grand champion with purpose and drive holding his level topline. BV and winner of the Veteran Terrier group under judge Mr G Dymock. Well done. 2 Vanderkaa's Mystic Moment's Power of Dreams. Black brindle dog of slightly smaller stature than one and slight greying of his muzzle. Also 8 years old. Good head piece with neat ears and dark eyes. Good front construction and moved extremely well holding his topline. Correct tail carriage. I just preferred the overall bone and balance of my winner. MPD (5) 1 Smart's Tnt Edition Renegade. Red puppy with black overlay and dark mask of the same age as my winner. Yet again, another fit youngster who moved extremely well. One you could only dream about and I hope any aspiring judges get to be as lucky to judge similar one day. I had my work cut out and to use that old cliché I did not have enough place cards to go round for this dog class. This was the strongest class of the day and the breed is certainly in good hands if these boys are used in breeding programs. 1 Holme's Ch Goldstaff's Crack The Code. BOB/DCC and Terrier Group 2 under judge Tom Mather. Well done. 2 Higham's Ch Callastaff Lakeland Lad. Black brindle dog from the "top drawer" and a complete showman. Beautiful chiselled head piece, powerful with a pronounced stop he could not be mistaken for anything but a male Stafford in his prime. Dark round eyes and a strong muzzle housing a perfect scissor bite and neat ears complete the picture. His front is good and enhanced by a muscular chest and he has the correct angulation both fore and aft being short coupled and powerful and the bonus of being shown in gleaming, hard condition.
