STAFFORDSHIRE BULL DARLINGTON 14 Judge: Mrs G McDermott BEST OF BREED : 1503 MCPHAIL Mr & Mrs E Scorguie Stolen Kisses STAFFORDSHIRE BULL JUDGE DARLINGTON 14 Staffordshire Bull Terriers I was looking forward to this judging appointment, & the day was not disappointing, with a happy & relaxed atmosphere, I hope that all my placings where taken in a sporting manner. The overall quality of the exhibits’ excelled all expectations, but on the down side was the ring, which had a channel through the centre of it, & uneven ground which upset some of the movement of the exhibits. I found no major faults or health issues & I hoped that all had a good day. VD (3,1a) 1 Davies & Mace’s Ch/Int Ch Stormbull Solo, he is now 10 years but still hold his ring presence, lots of expression, strong in head defined stop, strong underjaw, & dark eyes, neat ears, correct scissor bite & underjaw, front wide & straight, deep in brisket, short coupled & good topline, well bent stifle & in great condition, coat short & close, correctly placed tail, carried low, moved round the ring with drive & held topline on the move; 2 Fletchers & Seedhouse’s Jsy Ch Granitangel Zircon, b/br with a broad skull & defined stop, neat ears & dark eyes, scissor correct bite with good underjaw, well developed cheek bumps, front wide & straight, nice deep brisket with well sprung ribs, nice topline & muscular hocks & well bent stifle, tail placed low, movement OK. MPD (3) 1 Hirst & Bibby’s Taraiel Busta Rhymes, 7 months & still a baby, lots of expression & lovely head shape, dark eye & correct scissor bite, neat ears, straight front & short coupled, well padded feet, good topline, tail set correctly, movement will settle with age but OK on the day; 2 Jones’ Virtutis Valentino, 7 months, not a lot between 1 & 2, again still a baby with typical head shape & stop, good pigmentation & correct scissor bite, straight front & short coupled, well let down stifles, coat short & in good condition, nicely placed tail, movement ok & will get better with age; 3 Gavin & Glen’s Bullmitz Red Marauder at Merlinstaff. PD (3,1) 1 Peters’ Kimstaff Vitani, b/br white front, at the top end of puppy, typical head shape with nice defined stop, neat ears & dark eyes, correct scissor bite & good underjaw, lots of expression, front wide & straight plenty of bone, well padded feet & no weakness in pasterns, short coupled & nice topline, well bent stifle, low set tail, coat short & smooth, moved well round the ring. BPD; 2 Jackson’s Roughnecks Justice For All Red, skull broad & with defined stop, nicely placed ears, & good pigmentation, correct scissor bite, nice wide front & straight, short coupled with good topline, which was held on the move, tail set low. JD (8,1) 1 Thomas’ Biggleswick Funky Devil, r/w, lovely head shape with stop, correct scissor bite & a nice underjaw, ears placed correctly & used to his advantage with lot of expression, nice dark eyes. Good in front wide & straight, showing no weakness in pasterns, plenty of bone for age, deep brisket muscular hocks & well bend in stifle, coat short & smooth & in good condition, held topline nicely on the move & stood still, tail nicely placed, giving a well balanced dog; 2 Gabel Red, in super condition & has only got better as time has gone on, lovely pigmentation, correct scissor bite & neat ears & well placed, distinct stop, & dark eyes, good underjaw & developed cheek bumps, front straight & plenty of substance, short coupled & level topline, well let down hocks & bend to stifle, coat short & close, moved well round the ring showing lots of expression, tail set low; 3 Drummond’s Ballindona Benromach. YD (5) 1 Membury’s Mitzstaff Union Jack, b/br, broad skull & defined stop, neat ears & correctly placed, giving a lovely expression, correct scissor bite & good underjaw, tight lips, developed cheek bump, well laid shoulders & wide front & straight, no weakness in pasterns & well padded feet, short coupled & good topline, nicely sprung ribs, well muscular hocks & bend in stifle, held topline & tail set low, when moved, using the ring to his advantage; 2 Higgins’ Acrestaff O’Grady, b/br, typical head shape with distinct stop, ears correctly placed, scissor bite & developed cheek bumps, lovely dark eyes, & lots of expression, front wide & straight good boned & no weakness in pasterns, short coupled & well sprung ribs, well let down hocks & good bend of stifle, nice tailset, moved well on the day & held topline when stood still & on the move; 3 Sutcliffe’s Pendlestaff Firestorm. GD (2) 1 Patrick’s Welshstaff Last Gasp, b/br, top size with lovely pigmentation, typical head shape & deep through with defined stop, neatly placed ears, developed cheek bumps & scissor bite, front straight & showing no weakness in pasterns, short coupled & well sprung ribs, nice bend of stifle, good tail placement, movement ok on the day; 2 Evans’ Hammystaff Fire Blade, red with dark mask, broad skull, defined stop with dark eyes & correctly placed ears, good in front with lots of bone, deep brisket, well sprung ribs & short coupled, hocks well let down & good bend of stifle, correctly placed tail, topline held when moved & stood still, showing lots of expression, coat short & smooth, moved OK on the day. PGD (5) 1 Ridley’s Jackstaff The Gardsman, red, broad skull with lovely ear placement, showing lots of expression, defined stop & dark eyes, well developed cheek bumps & nice scissor bite, good underjaw, well laid shoulders, chest wide & front straight, deep brisket, lots of bone & good padded feet, nice spring of rib & short coupled with a level topline, muscular hocks & well bent stifle, coat short & in lovely condition, movement OK; 2 McKimm’s Fergiestaff Olympic Flame, red with good pigmentation, typical head shape defined stop, nicely placed ears & a dark eye, scissor bite, developed cheek bumps, shoulders laid back & good in front, chest wide deep in brisket, no weakness in pasterns, nicely sprung ribs & short coupled, level topline, when moved & stood still; 3 Price’s Little Beau Geste. LD (16,3) What a good class, all places can change from show to show but today there was not enough cards to go round. 1 Clarke & Traver’s Briganah Black Cheiftain, b/br, super head broad with distinct stop, lovely ears, dark eyes, correct scissor bite, good underjaw, well developed cheek bumps, no loose lips, well laid back shoulders & straight front, lots of bone & showing no weakness in pasterns, nice depth in brisket, level topline, short coupled & well sprung ribs, coat short & put out in great condition, a credit to his owner, moved with ease round the ring & showed lots of expression, overall a good balanced dog; 2 Kelly’s Laniuain Precious Blood, b/br, this dog I judged as a puppy & I was not disappointed today, he is matured into a lovely example of the breed, typical head, nice & broad with deep through stop, good pigmentation, developed cheek bumps & correct scissor bite, front wide & straight, nice depth in brisket, well sprung ribs, plenty of bone no weakness at pasterns, muscular hocks with well bent stifle, good in front & back when moved & good expression; 3 Jones’ Inner Steel of Foyleoak. OD (14,3) Best class of the dogs, full of quality some hard choices. 1 Hedges & Bogovcic’s Ch Suurisuun Boppinghams Biruial, r/w, this dog fits the standard & ticked all my boxes, with lots of ring presence & expression, classic head shape with good pigmentation, neat ears & correctly placed, defined stop, good underjaw & no loose lips, well laid back shoulders, chest wide & straight, good depth to brisket, showing no weakness at pasterns, lots of substance & in great condition, well sprung ribs & short coupled, nice topline & tail set correctly, making full use of the ring & showed to his best, there is a lovely blend of bull & terrier, a lovely balanced dog. I had no hesitation in awarding him CC & BOB; 2 Kimber’s Kimberstaff Harry Potter, b/br, classic head shape, distinct stop, dark eyes, good cheek bumps, correct scissor bite, & no loose lips, strong underjaw, shoulder well laid back, front wide & straight, plenty of bone, short coupled & well sprung ribs, good topline, muscular hocks, well bent stifle, in great condition, coat short & smooth, good tailset, moved with ease round the ring showing good expression, nicely balanced, awarded him RCC; Winwood & Tunnah Antroboss Tempest Nera. 3 DAVIDSON Ms K Waystaff Dutch Minister JW VB (3) 1 Hirst & Bibby’s Ch Taraiel Trinity, b/w, good pigmentation, a classic head shape, neat ears & correct scissor bite, front straight & good depth in brisket, short coupled muscular hocks & well bent stifle, lots of expression, good topline when moved; 2 Fletchers & Seedhouse’s Granitangel Rough Diamond, b/br, good condition with a typical head shape, defined stop, straight in front, good bone & deep brisket, well sprung ribs, muscular hocks & bend of stifle, in nice coat condition, short & close, held topline when moved; 3 Fletchers & Seedhouse’s Rockstaff Kaos at Granitangel. MPB (12) A class of lovely puppies, & some went cardless but I’m sure their turn will be in the future. 1 Duncan Nettleworth No Nonsense, b/br with a classic head shape no exaggeration, neat ears, with good stop, dark eyes, correct scissor bite, shoulder laid back, front straight & good bone for age, short coupled good hocks & well bent stifle, level topline on the move & standing still. BP & PG4; 2 Harrison & Roper Trawden Ice And Spice, w/r, lovely head shape, nicely placed ears, good pigmentation with dark eyes & scissor bite, nice cheek bumps, short coupled & front straight, good bend of stifle, level topline, moved OK; 3 Plant’s Bethaleese Black Betitina for Kyraloebis. JB (8,1) 1 Rogers’ Berrystock Charles Angels, b/br, strong but feminine, nice defined stop, neat ears, developed cheek bumps, lots of expression, correct scissor bite, wide front & straight, plenty of bone, well padded feet with no weakness in pasterns, good spring of rib, short coupled, well let down hocks & lovely well bent stifle, coat short & in great condition, tail carried low, good topline which was level on the move & stood still; 2 Johnston & Brown’s Revelry Custom Made, b/br, typical head shape with lots of expression, distinct stop, dark eyes & correct scissor bite, nice cheek bumps, laid back shoulders, front straight, no weakness in pasterns, short coupled, in lovely coat condition, tailset low with a topline level when moved; 3 Jackson’s Jefmor Straight As A Die. YB (7) 1 Hopgood & Kerry’s Starolestaff Mystic Mimi of Antroboss, lovely girl & is still maturing, feminine head but strong & with defined stop, correct scissor bite & strong underjaw, nicely placed ears, shows lots of expression, front wide & straight, good depth to brisket, topline level & short coupled, muscular hocks & well bent stifle, in good condition coat short & close, correctly carried tail, moved well round the ring, nicely balanced; 2 Desmond’s Elitebull Elegance, b/br, broad skull with correctly placed ears, defined stop & dark eyes, correct scissor bite, developed cheek bumps, strong underjaw, tight lips, good in front with plenty of bone, well sprung ribs & short coupled, good tail carriage, coat short, moved OK, good level topline; 3 Bryan’s Felkirkstaff Galadriel. GB (1) A PGB (7) 1 Rhodes’ Crumkill Gidimon Girl at Teracota, b/br this girl I had judged before as a puppy & has now matured into a lovely good spring of rib, short coupled, nice muscular hocks & well bend of stifle, coat short & in great condition, tail set low, lots of substance, topline level on the move & stood still; 2 Rollin’s Seenworstaff Tea For Two, red with good pigmentation, typical head shape, neat ears, developed cheek bumps, lots of expression & ring presence, correct scissor bite, wide in front & short coupled, well laid back shoulders, lots of bone, great condition with muscular hocks & well bend stifle, held topline when on the move, a lovely balanced & free standing girl; 3 Southall’s Dynastaff Black Velvet. LB (16) 1 Stanway’s Mosstrooper Making Mischief at Waystaff, w/r, classical head shape, well defined stop, correctly placed ears, lovely cheek bumps & correct scissor bite, strong underjaw & grand pigmentation, good expression, tight lips, nice well laid back shoulders with a wide & straight front, plenty of bone, showing no weakness in pasterns, deep brisket short coupled level topline, put out in great condition coat short & close, well developed hocks & lovely bend of stifle, correct tail carriage, held topline when moved round the ring, nicely balanced with a lovely outline & fitted the standard to a tee. RCC; 2 John’s Welshstaff Princess Ruby, I judged this girl when she was a puppy, with lots of ring presence & showing good expression, strong head with defined stop, grand pigmentation, lovely placed ears, correct scissor bite, good cheek bumps, & strong underjaw, front wide & straight, level topline & short coupled, well let down hocks & good bend of stifle, moved with ease round the ring completing the overall picture, lovely balanced girl; 3 Quinn’s Bowferry Life On Mars. OB (9) What a super class of girls, some went cardless but I’m sure my places will change & their time will come to be in the spotlight. 1 McPhail’s Scorguie Stolen Kisses, b/br who excelled in all departments, fitted the standard with a lovely blend of bull & terrier, classic head shape & grand pigmentation, dark eyes & lovely placed ears with distinct stop, correct scissor bite, strong underjaw, shoulders laid back & front straight & wide, well sprung ribs, deep brisket, plenty of bone, with no weakness of pasterns, well muscular all round with well let down hocks & bend of stifle, coat short & smooth, tail carried correctly, level topline, good & sound movement covering the ring with ease, put out in great condition & a credit to her owners, my pleasure to award her third CC making her up to champion status on the day. CC; 2 Winwood & Tunnah’s Cursus Summer Storm, this girl I judged before & has matured nicely, put out in grand condition & a credit to her owners, typical head shape with good pigmentation, defined stop, & neat ears, strong underjaw, lovely front with plenty of bone, good spring of rib, muscular hocks & nice bend of stifle, held topline, stood still & on the move; 3 Hirst & Bibby Ch Taraiel Clara.
