STAFFORDSHIRE BULL JUDGE CITY OF BIRMINGHAM 18

Firstly my thanks to you all for allowing me to judge you dogs. Secondly to the committee for their helpfulness and friendliness. I hope they were happy with my 'short notice' entry! Also my thanks to my stewards who were superb in running my ring for me. I was pleased overall with the quality of dogs that came under me. We still seemed to have a problem with some feet, our breed should have neat well padded feet. There were a few that need some attention to the nail length. My critique has been taken from memory and photos, as my recorder decided to give up after MPD hence only 2 places critiqued.

VD (2)

1. Marachowska's Ch Kalhols Black Magic At Passernomen, looking good for his age, neat ears, dark eye, moved well.

2. Cooper's Tessy Blazing Star, similar age to, nice shaped head, movement ok if a bit stiff behind.

Minor Puppy Dog. 2

1. Blanch Calonge's Stormfire Sex Simbol, lovely pied, good teeth, dark eye, very much a puppy which is good as I don't like to see puppies too mature, moved well, handler needs to slow down a little.

2. Jones's Chezatree Born On Fools, red with white chest, lovely dark mask, neat ears, moved well.

PD (7)

Lovely class.

1. Rhodes & Pritchard's Taraiel Reaper At Teracota, black brindle, good shaped head, dark eyes, good pigmentation, neat ears, probably a bit too lean for me, but nevertheless a lovely puppy, BPIB.

2. Hirst & Bibby's Taraiel Soulja Boy, litter brother to 1, similar comments, what a good litter!

3. Tighe's Tegumen Ace Of Spades.

JD (4,1)

1. Blanch Calonge's Stormfire Lebron James, caught my eye in this class, red with dark mask, excellent dark eye, good mouth, moved well, again the handler needs to slow down. Handled better in the challenge hence my awarding him the RCC.

2. Preston's Tillcar Fire Starter, black brindle, good pigmentation, moved ok.

3. Desmond's Elitebulls Challenger.

YD (6,1)

1 Axe's Harley's Choice, what a compact and good blend of bull and terrier this boy is, lovely head shape enhanced by neat ears and dark eyes, neat feet, good pigmentation, shown very well, movement superb with level topline, pleased to award him DCC and BOB.

2. Dixon's Maggem Sinner Boy, red, good pigmentation, neat ears, neat feet moved well.

3. Pocknell's Ashtock Highlander Warrior At Blunoosa

GD (3,1)

1.Thomas's Sunnystone Limited Edition, black brindle, neat ears dark eyes, needs a bit more body, moved ok.

2. Preston's Tillcar Fire Starter.

PGD (3,2)

1 Shipp & Hammond's Hammystaff Hanky Pany With Idyllicstaff, red with dark mask, moved ok, don't think he was that happy today.

LD (4)

1. Rees's Edgeworth Arturo, good compact black brindle, pleasing head, dark eye, shown and moved well.

2. Morrell's Mr Prospector Des Terres D'armor (IMP), black brindle, slightly longer cast than 1, dark eye, moved ok.

3. Davis's Tegumen The World Is Yours.

OD (10,1)

1. McClelland's Ch Rochlawie Behold The Hour, black brindle, good pigmentation, nice head shape moved well.

2. Coble's Ch Surestaff Wellington, black brindle, good blend of bull and terrier just slightly bigger than 1 although it was a close decision, moved well, but would like a little bit more animation from him.

3. Higham's Ch Callastaff Lakeland Lad.

GOOD CITIZEN DOG (1)

1. Cooper's Tessy Blazing Star.

VB (2)

1. Hirst's Ch Taraiel Ciara, superb condition for a veteran, still showing all her attributes, dark eye, neat ears, feminine to a tee, moved well BV.

2. Coble's Surestaff Valentina, another oldie in good condition, also keeping her feminine looks, feet a little untidy, moved ok.

MPB (5)

1. Gallagher Eclypstaff Thumbelina, super black brindle just the right body shape for such a baby, I hate to see puppies too thin, dark eye, lovely ears, feminine expression, moved well. BPB.

2. Evans Sleetmoor Young At Heart, red with super dark mask in fact good pigmentation all round, movement good for a baby, hope she does well.

3. Dougan's Luthais Light Of Venus.

PB (5)

Good class of puppies.

1. Templeton's Janastaff Freya At Marudi, pretty black brindle, good head shape, dark round eye, neat ears, maturing well, once handler and puppy settled themselves she moved well.

2. Funnell's Powerpack Alura Finvarra, close call between 1 & 2, another feminine bitch from this kennel, good head shape, dark eye neat ears, moved ok.

3. Hughes Taurinstaff Milly's Choice.

JB (11,2)

Lovely class which is good for the breed.

1. Johnson's Tillcarr Baptism Of Fire, this black brindle caught my eye from the start, my type of Stafford and hopefully will improve and go further, feminine expression from superb dark eyes with the correct set of ear, well developed which enabled her to move well with good level topline. BCC.

2. Anchor's Lonemoor Inion Realta, another feminine black brindle, good pigmentation, again another good mover.

3 Waters Ashstock Aurora.

YB (3)

1. Saunt's Moonlight-Shimmer Of Darklands (IMP), another feminine black brindle, dark eye neat ears, level topline, moved well.

2. Lee & Coleman's Berrystock Enigma Black, head shape ok, dark eye, good ears, movement not as good as 1.

3. Cooper's Fairleniums Hawkeye.

GB (2)

1. Kirk's Jodanzac Fireball Red, unplaced in a good junior class, this red has a good dark mask, dark eyes, good ear placement, moved ok.

2. Evan's Sleetmoor Twice As Hot, red, she was not particularly happy which showed in her overall demeanour, pity, dark mask and good eye and ear shape, not that happy on the move.

PGB (3,1)

1. Funnell's Powerpack Cherokee, black brindle, like this bitch, good head shape, moved well, considered her for my reserve bitch ticket.

2. Tighe's Tegumen Little Miss Sparkle, not as feminine as 1, good body shape, moved ok.

LB (7,1)

1. Simpson's Briganah Body And Soul, black brindle, another one very much my type, good head, excellent pigmentation, moved and handled well.

2. Mann's Nerotoro Cosmic Girl, similar comments to 1, moved ok.

3. Jones Li'l Miss Velvet At Kamaristaff, blue, probably the best mover in the class, not as feminine as I would like, but liked her nevertheless.

OB (10,1)

Good class.

1. Saunt's Ch Crudha Nordic Star, feminine black brindle, pleasing head with lovely expression, good pigmentation, handle and moved well. RCC.

2. Byrne & Gartland's Ch Carandstaff Moondance, another lovely bitch, good pigmentation, moved well, I'm sure these 2 swap places on many and occasion.

3. Stanway's Stormfire Crack The Code At Waystaff (Imp)
