Staffordshire Bull Terriers

Firstly I would like to thank the officers & committee for inviting me to officiate at this well run excellent Ch show. I would also like to thank my two able stewards for making my day run with much ease & much pleasure.

On the dog front, I found exhibits to be of impeccable order, mouths were in general very good. I found just a few that would have been placed higher if were carrying far less weight. A Stafford should be put down in fit hard condition & fit for purpose. What good is a fat weighty Stafford doing in the show ring? If you want your dog in this condition then leave him at home by the fireside. The show game is no place for you. I was very happy with my main winners & could have taken anyone of them home. Thank you for my excellent entry.

VD (4)

1 Fletcher & Seedhouse’s Jsy Ch Granitangel Zircon, 8 years b/br. Still active & alert, carrying typical head qualities, good body properties, standing foursquare & in good order. Moved out well both ways, won a nice class of veterans. Well done;

2 Summers’ Jewelstaff Kubia Khan at Warriorstaff, 8½ years br/w. Nice type shaded out today but virtues & condition was of good order. Typical head, topline level, standing foursquare, moved & handled well;

3 Thomson’s Kiamirose Bossin Motion at Siriustaff.

MPD (5)

1 McClelland’s Rochlawie Behold The Hour, 7½ months dark br/w, lovely strong typy headed pup upstanding, nice front, up on toes, level topline with ample rib, good legs & feet, quarters coming along well, in lovely condition & scissor bite, moved well both ways;

3 Howard’s Pendlestaff Fire Cracker.

PD (3)

1 Emmett’s Druidhawk God Of War, standard size b/br. Good type with a strong head, correct bite, ears & dark eye to match his solid compact body. He stood on strong well boned legs with tight feet, topline was level also on the move. He was full of himself to start but once settled was a pleasure to watch him move with that drive expected of our breed. BPD;

2 Papworth’s Tiezelstaffs Moonshine Bay, red, who was in good order & unlucky to meet winner on the day. Good boned young dog with a nice attitude & typical head, scissor mouth. Good set ears & straight front, moved & handled well;

3 Devlin’s Tightlines Dusty’s Trail.

JD (10)

1 Dean’s Kylestaff Muddy Water, nice 14 months b/br/w. Standard type who demanded attention. Stood foursquare & looked a picture from all angles. Nice headed young dog with well placed ears. Good eye set, strength through muzzle & big strong scissor bite teeth. Lovely straight front. Up on toes with a level top. His body is maturing along the right lines & he should trouble the best when matured up. He moved with drive & won a good class of juniors. Well done, considered for RCC;

2 Rowbotham’s Elitebull Black And Brass, nice type b/br, 13 months who should have a good show career, nice headed & correct in all departments. He was handled very well to gain his placing today. He met a dog today in grand form, another day, another show & he could change placings. A good dog in the making;

3 Lee & Colemans’ Bullhawk Archie Bold.

YD (10,2a)

1 Thomas’ Cazomic Crime Fighter, r/w. My star of the day, beautiful red in first class condition, super head, shape & make. Small rose ears. Scissor bite, perfect front, up on toes, good boned, topline second to none. His coat gleamed & was short tight fitted, he made his handler work hard, but once settled was a dream to watch. Good drop to brisket, ample bone & substance. Quarters firm & well angulated. I am glad I had the pleasure to put my hands over this outstanding exhibit & it was a great honour to award him the CC & BOB. I hope his 3rd is not too far away & I cannot see any reason why he should not win many more. I could have taken him home. Congrats & well done;

2 Hirst & Bibby’s Taraiel Buster Rhymes, brindle dog who found above too good today. Nice type strong headed, good bite, strength & substance. Level back, straight front. Nice dark eye, up on his toes & shown very well. Unlucky today but a nice dog in the making;

3 Nock’s Happy Daze.

GD (7)

1 Adlam’s Fairleniums Top Gear, what a lovely white dog this is, smart & full of himself. Was hard work for his lady handler. Nice strong well chiselled head, ears well placed & set, nice dark eye, well set front, legs well boned, with strong substance & body. He was a shade overweight on the day, but trimmed down he will trouble the best, bit more ring practice & some hard roadwork & he will be a different dog. He deserved his placing today on his overall virtues. I would have considered him for top honours today if in hard fit condition. Please take note;

2 E Black And Brass;

3 Woollett’s Assillo Red Alert.

2 Houghton’s Belterstaffs Ginger Joe, another quality red with all the attributes of above, & no doubt in my mind that this exhibit will also go to the top. Handler works so hard with this dog, who is full of beans & on guard at all times, alert expression, up on toes & stood like a statue, a very worthy dog in the making;
