STAFFORDSHIRE BULL CITY OF BIRMINGHAM 10 Judge: Mr Ivor Keyes STAFFORDSHIRE BULL JUDGE CITY OF BIRMINGHAM 10 Staffordshire Bull Terrier How I love this Breed. In years gone by we’d be shoved in a ring in a corner out of the way, because the dogs (and often the owners!) were deemed unsociable to mainstream show folk. Today we were given an excellent size ring under canvas on a solid floor and the dogs were so well behaved. To boot the Bitch BOB winner was third in the Terrier Group and the Puppy Dog took third in the Terrier Puppy Group. Well done to them for entering the Group competition and gaining those placings. Our Breed has a great character, but a small number of exhibits today were a bit flat and timid – not typical Stafford traits. We don’t want them noisy or disruptive, but they should have an outgoing confident personality. Only a few dogs in the Breed can obtain the desired show points in abundance to be successful, but every Stafford born can have a typical temperament. Many thanks for a splendid entry, and thank you to my very competent stewards.
