STAFFORDSHIRE BULL JUDGE BOURNEMOUTH 23

Many thanks to Bournemouth C.A. for this opportunity. Thank you Adam, my ring steward for a job well done. Special thanks for to those that brought and showed their dogs on day, my privilege and very much appreciated. I enjoyed the day but in places it was a difficult shift. A popular topic at present is nostrils, today very few gave me much cause for concern. One or two with very bunchy muscle, spoils the outline altogether, both stood and on the move. I have preferences in stop and eye shape, but again, the majority fitted within my idea of acceptability. I did see inverted canines and bites that I would consider very tight. Movement was at times an eye opener, with one or two disappointingly appearing tied at elbow. Generally, hindquarter movement was more of a concern, with more than a few moving close, with twisting in at the stifle and hock very evident.

MPD

1 Woodwards Cotsward Drops of Jupiter. Black brindle baby with typical expression, dark eye, correct headshape not overdone in the stop, complimented with a clean muzzle of good length, with wide open nostrils. He has an excellent bite, full set of premolars. Straight strong forequarters, good side profile, good spring of rib for age, brisket to elbow and correct rear angulation, moved well. He carries his tail a little high on movement, but a lovely young dog that should go on to be an impressive typey adult. Best Puppy in Breed.

2 Gillespie & Wren Dusklight Ice Ice Baby. A white lad that’s a heavier made dog than first, whose muzzle compliments his skull. As with one, good nostrils and typey expression. Neat ears, correctly placed. Good width to front, brisket drops to elbow, plenty of bone in his forequarters but that’s not to say its overdone, tended to stand a shade over angulated at the rear at present.

PD

1 Cychol`s Kylestaff the Hitman. Standard black brindle pup whose head is in balance to his body. Wide open nostrils, good bite, dark eye and neat ears well placed. Straight in the forequarters with brisket to elbow, ribs carried back, good rear angulation, moved reasonably well. JD 1 Bingham`s Cwmhaf Ambassador. Black Brindle dog. Very good expression on this lad helped by correctly shaped well placed dark eyes and neat ears. Skull has depth with corresponding width and his clean muzzle of good length compliments this in its proportions. Wide open nostrils and a good bite throughout. He`s up on the leg, with ample straight boned forequarters and for me, he has enough width to his front at present, when stood naturally. Rib is well sprung, his brisket drops to elbow and ribcage is carried well back, then tucks up well to him being light in the loin. Good rear angulation and long musculature. Does not appreciate being stacked and does his best to spoil his profile by sloping off at the rear, stood loosely, he`s a different dog with a much improved profile altogether. He moved economically with purpose. Dog CC.

2 Jones` Kamaristaffs Royal Rumour. Another good black brindle lad in a more compact package. Slightly different expression, but the same neat ears and well shaped dark eyes, both well placed gave another good example of type. Very likeable expression. Muzzle has ample length along with depth and width with open nostrils. His neck flows well into topline, brisket to elbow, with a straight front of good bone. Correct angulations to his rear gets his pasterns where they should be with a good bend of stifle to provide a strong rear column of support. Moved well. I liked his animation, seemingly alert to all around him. Personally for my preference, I hope he doesn’t bulk out from where he is at present and just gets exercised to his optimum fitness levels maintaining that balance. DRCC.

3 Cwmhaf Celtic Quest.

YD

1 Kruger`s Powerpack Severus Snape. Black brindle dog with pleasing expression, dark eyes well placed and correct shape and size and neat ears. He has good length to his muzzle with wide open nostrils and a good bite. Well developed cheek bumps with a stop as it should be. Ample bone in his straight forequarters, brisket to elbow, decent spring of rib carried back, decent tuck up, correct rear angulation and he moved well.

2 Rhodes`Zivannaz Babylons Burning. Top size fawn dog with good expression. Neat ears, well placed eyes. Very clean throughout his skull and muzzle that houses a very impressive bite indeed. Enough width to his front, he is straight and strong in the forequarters. Neck flows well into topline, he`s well ribbed back and hard to the touch, light in the loin with a tight smooth coat. Very decent rear angulation exhibiting long musculature. Moved well.

3 Meer-Metzler`s Frisian Staffs Midnight Oil.

ND

1 Dugdale`s Dazmarnic Cant Explain. A fit well made red dog with typical expression dark eyes neat well placed ears. Good depth throughout muzzle and skull, wide open nostrils and correct stop. Neck flows well into his topline. Straight in the forequarters brisket to elbow good spring of rib carried back, light in the loin. His well muscled body shows definition throughout. Well developed rear quarters with a good width of thigh, moved very well. Came close again.

2 Feather`s Niatona Beetle Crusher. Attractive red white pied. Nothing overdone with this lad, pleasing expression with a decent stop and wide open nostrils. A slightly wider head than the first, but it balances to its depth and his clean muzzle that houses a good bite. It also balances to his body which has forequarters that are straight and strong forequarters with lift and a good width to his chest. His neck flows well into topline, brisket a shade lower than elbow. Good width and angulation to his rear when lifted and lowered with decent levels of fitness. A nice dog. I preferred the movement of one.

3 Cychol`s Kylestaff the Hitman.

GD

First Kruger`s Powerpack Severus Snape. First in Yearling Dog.

2 Yates` Zakdan Devious Devil. Very close up on one was a very attractive standard black brindle with nothing overdone. Good expression helped by dark well positioned eyes and a reasonably neat ear. His head balances to body, he`s not overdone in the stop which leads to a good length of muzzle which also has width and depth. Tight in the lip with a very good bite. His brisket drops to elbow with a decent spring of rib correct rear angulation with good width to his thigh Moved very well, economically with purpose.

3 Stephen`s Bigor Stance at Eclipsebulls.

PGD

1 Davies` Jomello Stand By Me At Cwmhardd. Another dog who has nothing overdone, an unexaggerated brindle lad with a correct stop and strong muzzle with plenty of width and depth. Good bite, dark eyes, ears could be tidier. Stands on strong bone with a front of good width with lift, he has a good spring of rib with good columns of support front and rear and a good width to his thigh. Straight rear pasterns with a good bend of stifle and a developed second thigh, moved reasonably well but would prefer him a little fitter.

MLD

1 Walker`s Georgie Poergie Pops At Teshleystaff. Top size Red dog who scores in both head and body, hard headed dog with plenty of strength in that muzzle, good bite with big strong canines and incisors set square. He has dark eyes, neat well placed ears, wide open nostrils and a muzzle that has depth width and purposeful length. Straight in the forequarters with good bone, his well sprung rib, drops a tad below elbow, he`s reasonably well muscled with a developed second thigh, smooth tight coat. Solid dog who moved reasonably well. Would prefer higher levels of fitness, he was stood a little long, lift and lower where he should be gave a much better profile and angulation.

2 Funnel`s Powerpack Tam O Shanter. Black brindle close up on one, a shade different in type, possibly a more modern headed dog with dark eyes and well placed ears. He is tight in the lip with open nostrils. Straight and strong in the forequarters and well ribbed back with decent spring of rib. He shows good levels of fitness with a wide muscular thigh and decently developed second thigh. He had better levels of fitness than one but I preferred the head on one. Very close decision.

LD

1 Funnel and Wiggins` Powerpack Kilgobnet. Black brindle dog with a good head shape and length of muzzle, nothing overdone in his skull, correct stop with a dark eye and good expression. Reasonably tight in the lip with a good bite. He is straight and strong in the forequarters showing good lift and width. His brisket drops to elbow, he has a level topline and good width of thigh on his rear quarters. Another stood a little stretched, but lift and lower got his pads where they should be with vertical pasterns. Good fitness levels, would prefer a tighter coat and he moved reasonably well.

2 Knight`s Kalostaff`s Dark Knight. Standard Black brindle with white paws, he has good skull and muzzle proportions, not overdone in the stop, neat ears set a little high and a darker eye would be preferable. He has a good bite with a blockier muzzle than 1. Like the first, he is has straight well boned forequarters with a good spring of rib. His brisket drops to elbow with his ribs carried back and is light in the loin. He has good angulations, a balanced sound dog who moved very well. A very close decision between these two. Today I went with the expression of one but it was a hair splitting exercise.

3 Mitchell`s Chedanstaff Devil Star.

OD

1 Preston`s Tillcar Fire Starter. A dark brindle with a very good expression, full of type. Well placed eyes of good shape, correct distinct stop neat ears with a good length to a very clean muzzle and a good bite. He is strong in the forequarters with good lift and width, a well put together dog with brisket to elbow and a decent spring of rib. He has good columns of support in a rear that just follows on with the rest of his conformation. Rear has comparatively reasonable muscle development, I thought him absolutely sound, though I would prefer more definition between rib and pelvis. He moved very well.

2 Arntzen`s Welcome to Valhalla. Black brindle, another nice head on this dog with good bite and wide open nostrils, good muzzle proportions, round eyes, correct stop on his skull that has width and depth. His neck flows well into his topline, straight and strong in his forequarters with brisket to elbow. Good width to thigh and good rear angulation, unfortunately never really settled on the move.

3 Gibson`s Holmane Moldavite at Staffordsmax.

VD

First Rowe`s Illori Akinlana. Standard Clean headed Black brindle chap with correct stop and a good length of muzzle, he is tight in the lip with a good bite. Correct stop with wide open nostrils, dark eyes and reasonably neat ears, nothing overdone. Strong straight bone to his forequarters, his front has width and lift with decent spring of ribcage, light in the loin with a reasonably tight coat. Moved well. Best Veteran in Breed.

2 Jordan`s Ch Dazmarnic Know Wot I Mean. Scores well for me behind the collar, strong red dog with good rear angulations and bone. Strong columns of support fore and aft. Good spring of rib and has width in shoulder and pelvis. Level topline. Short coarse coat. Straight and strongly boned forequarters His head balances to body but would prefer less definition in expression personally.

3 Mitchell`s Our Little Cracker.

SBD/B

1 Squibb`s Sikaistaff Coz I’m Happy. This bitch crept up on me a bit. The more I looked at her, the more everything fell into place. Full of virtue throughout. Very attractive pretty bitch with a lovely expression helped on by neat ears and dark eyes of correct shape size and placement. Correct stop to her muzzle that has width and depth housing a good bite, incisors set square, open nostrils. Straight well boned forequarters. Strong neck that flowed smoothly into her topline with a spring of rib that is carried back to a reasonable tuck up, light in the loin. Correct angulations to the rear gets her pasterns vertically positioned where they should be. Decent width to her thigh with good development of the second thigh, reasonably tight coat and she moved very well. Straight columns of support from hip to pad. Very nice outline from above and profile. Bitch RCC.

2 Oram`s Kamiristaffs Royal Rumble. A bit more dog here than is my choice…. Larger head with more definition than is my preference… Thatsaid however, he has neat small ears and dark eyes well placed, muzzle has strength depth and width with open nostrils, but for me a tad more length to balance to his skull would enhance. Straight and well boned forequarters. His neck flows reasonably well into his topline with a good spring of rib. He`s still a bit soft, but still a young dog, could do with a bit of hardening up. I thought he moved very well.

3 Cychol`s Kylestaff the Hitman.

MPB

1 Woodward`s Cotsward Sky Full of Stars. Still very much a minor puppy, lovely head on this little girl with a good length of muzzle that balances well to her skull. Tight in the lip with open nostrils, a stop is spot on for my opinion of distinct and neat ears. Straight forequarters with ample bone, she was stood a little over stretched at the rear but less so when lifted and lowered, a nice puppy bitch.

2 Loren`s and Lieuwes Aldgillis Angel On My Shoulder. Very similar in type to the first in a slightly bigger version and a bit further on as far as fitness levels are concerned. Slightly higher up on the leg with a good bite she moved well, just by small margins in expression, I preferred 1

3 Turner`s Matrixstaffs Moon Dancer at Tidestaff.

PB

1 Preston`s Kahamaia Circle of Fire. Brindle pup of good type, she has a lovely head with good proportions. Dark eyes of correct shape well placed, ears are also well placed and neat. Correct stop and muzzle of good length, open nostrils, good bite with incisors set square. Straight and strong amply boned forequarters with a good spring of rib carried back, level topline with good rear angulation Best Puppy Bitch.

2 Dean`s Kylestaff Black Magic Woman. Another black brindle with alert round eyes. Similar skull and muzzle proportions to first, ears not quite as neat She is also straight in front and ribs well back with a level topline with good rear angulation.

3 Constant`s Sikaistaff Cask Strength.

JB

1 Emery`s Kodaknott Duckin El Del Casails. Muscular pied bitch who displays a type that I appreciate, a harder more chiselled head with a muzzle that is of good length that balances to her skull. That muzzle is tight and clean in the lip and ends with wide open nostrils. Correct distinct stop, ears a tad flighty, but they fold back well. Ample bone in her straight forequarters that also have width. Strong muscular neck with a good spring of rib carried back, well muscled hindquarters showing very good levels of fitness, she is hard to the touch and moved well.

2 Payne`s Leebee`s Princess Charlotte. A red bitch of substance with a good head and muzzle of good proportions. Her stop, as it should be with a muzzle of strength with good width, depth and length. Plenty of bone in her straight and strong forelimbs and her brisket drops to elbow. She has a level topline and her ribs are well sprung and carried back, reasonably light in the loin with good angulation and rear musculature, she moved well.

3 Roger`s and Daly-Lees Berrystock Best Kept Secret.

YB

1 Land`s Zivannaz No Stopping me Now At Winzak. Stand out muscular red bitch for type balance and fitness. Hard headed girl with pronounced cheek bumps and an excellent typical expression. She has dark well paced eyes of correct shape and well positioned neat ears. A good length to a strong muzzle that compliments her skull and houses a very good bite. She is tight and clean in the lip and has wide open nostrils. Straight and strong bone on her forequarters, which show lift and width. Very good in profile, her brisket drops to elbow with a good spring of rib that is carried back to her tuck up. From above, her shoulders have width with a good spring of rib and is light in the loin, showing good definition between rib and pelvis. She is in excellent condition with good width to her upper thigh and well developed gaskin, well muscled throughout and she moved very well. Bitch CC with BOB.

2 Payne`s Leebee`s Princess Charlotte (second in Junior) 3 Williams Elhastaffs Bonnie Lass.

NB

1 Burton`s Trufflestaff Bambenie at Barbory. Tiger brindle bitch whose head balances to body, reasonably neat ears good bite with open nostrils. Would prefer tighter lips. Front has width with straight forequarters and a decent length of upper arm and good spring of rib. Thigh has width, good rear angulation and she gets her rear pads positioned well. She is reasonably light in the loin but would prefer her fitter.

2 Harris` Illori Camiyah. Smaller black brindle bitch with a decent head, neat ears well placed, good stop and strong muzzle with open nostrils, straight and strong forequarters, decent spring of rib, reasonable levels of fitness, today she wanted to stand a shade over angulated for me.

3 Dean`s Kylestaff Black Magic Woman.

GB

1 Squibb`s Sikaistaffs Coz I’m Happy. (First in Special Beginners Dog or Bitch)

2 Rowe And South’s Illori Constellation. Black brindle who was a little bit more all over than 1. Balanced with a slightly stronger head and muzzle. She has a pleasing expression, strong underjaw and reasonably tight in the lip. A good spring of rib that is carried back, her neck flowed well into her shoulders and she has a good profile from side and then from above. Well muscled hindquarters and moved well

.3 Funnel`s Powerpack Morgan Le Fay.

PGB

1 Walker`s Maxstaff Miss Vivienne At Teshleystaf. Attractive headed red bitch with a good length and width of muzzle, complimented by not too much stop. She has dark eyes well shaped and placed with wide open nostrils and a good bite. Her front has width and her strong neck flows well into shoulders and on into her topline. Brisket to elbow with good angulations on her rear. She moved well.

2 Sandford`s Fairlenium Iron Queen. Pied bitch with a typical expression, being a hard headed bitch with a good stop and strong muzzle, of good length and possibly a tad stronger than the 1 Tight lips and wide open nostrils. Her neck flows well into shoulder and on into a level topline, well balanced, with a brisket that drops to elbow. Rear angulation today got her pads where they should be, close decision but she was pipped on the fitness levels of one.

3 Campbell`s Foyleforsdal An Dui Re.

MLB

1 Funnel`s Powerpack Alura Finvarra. Black brindle strong headed girl that moved very well. Her muzzle has good length width and depth that is in balanced proportion to her skull with wide open nostrils, dark eyes and neat ears. Good bone in her straight forequarters, front has width. She ribs well back with good tuck up, light in the loin with a level topline, good fitness levels good muscle tone, second thigh well developed and she moved very well.

2 Emery`s Casails You Are My Sunshine. Brindle bitch, with a bit more of her than the 1 Strong headed bitch with wide open nostrils, neat ears and dark eyes, muzzle has width and depth but I would prefer a tad more length. Her head is balanced to body, plenty of strong bone in her forequarters, front has correct width for lift with depth of brisket to elbow. Good spring of rib that she carries back in a tight smooth coat. Her hindquarters provide good support and show comparatively decent levels of fitness. Moved well.

3 Preston`s Tilcar Fire Enigma.

LB

Enjoyable class to judge. Some excellent bitches in this class.

1 Campbell`s Foyllforsdal Bean Si. Standard Brindle bitch that scores so well in type with a good length of muzzle and correct stop. Her expression is of the best, neat well placed ears and correctly shaped dark eyes also well placed. She is tight and clean in the lip with a good bite and wide open nostrils. Her front is straight and strong showing ample width and lift. Her neck flows smoothly into her withers and on into topline with a good spring of rib that she carries back, she has a level topline with strong rear quarters that she`s inclined to stretch back standing, but she moved well.

2 Butler`s Joemiskeste Fair And Square. Black brindle and another well made bitch that moved very well. A more contemporary head shape than the first, dark eyes of correct shape and well placed ears help her excellent expression. Good length to her muzzle without excessive stop with a good bite. She has strong forequarters and her topline shows impressive musculature levels from above. She has a good spring of rib that tucks up well with well muscled hindquarters.

3 Mitchell`s Vimavel Red Angel.

OB Another good class to judge.

1 Norman`s Amavia Rewrite The Stars. Strong headed girl with really good strength to her muzzle that has width and depth, with enough length and open nostrils. Tight in the lip with a good bite. Her expression is typical with correctly shaped dark eyes and neat ears well placed. Good bone in forequarters with a spring of rib that she carries back with good musculature on well angulated rear quarters. Her rear pads position correctly for good columns of support. She has very decent levels of fitness showing reasonable definition when viewed from above, ideally for me a bit more would enhance. She has a close coat and moved well.

2 Well`s Ch Taraiel Ray of Light At Wellstaffs. Very close up on 1 hard was a very typical black brindle and white bitch with an excellent expression, her ears neat and well placed, dark eyes are slightly rounder than 1 Correct skull to muzzle proportions good bone in the forequarters up on her pasterns front has width that matches her lift. Excellent spring of rib carried back with a level topline. Like 1 when viewed from above I’d prefer a tad more definition between rib and pelvis. Correct hindquarter angulation with well developed first and second thigh, sound bitch, she moved very well.

3 Lewis` Jasamarch Celtic Queen.

VB

1 Butler`s Ch Joemikeste Play The Game. Very fit black brindle bitch who is straight and strong in her forequarters and showing width that balances her lift. She has wide open nostrils and a strong muzzle that balances to her skull. Typical expression. Her good spring of rib has brisket to elbow and is carried back with excellent levels of fitness made evident from above with a line of muscle that split either side of her spine. She has good rear angulation and moved reasonably well for being a bit worked up today.

2 Asker`s Leebees Scrumptious For Dazmarnic. Red and white with a lovely expression, solid bitch whose muzzle to head is ideal She has good straight bone ribs well back with very good levels of fitness and again moved well.

3 Allard`s Fr and Int Ch Staffanatics Magic Potion.
