STAFFORDSHIRE BULL BOSTON 15 Judge(s): MISS JO-ANN ESSEX DO YOU WISH THAT THE KENNEL CLUB WOULD PUT IT'S OWN HOUSE IN ORDER?
Staffordshire Bull Terriers PD (4) 1 Hirst & Bibby’s Taraiel Busta Rhymes, 11 months brindle. Standard size dog of nearly a year & shown in good condition. Well proportioned head with ears of good shape & placement, correct bite & great expression. Strong neck leading into good shoulders & straight front but with no turn out at feet. Level topline, short coupled, moved well. RBD; 2 Furmage’s Dringshaw Lorenzo, 7 months white with red eye patch. Heavier set dog than first & longer in the body, strong head but less depth than first placed dog. Nice ears & eye placement, very good pigment. Body still very loose but this is only a pup. Feet need to tighten & pasterns strengthen; 3 Waltham’s Dringshaw Marquez. JD (2) 1 Butler’s Rambelstaff Cos I Could, b/br. A very well balanced dog with good front & rear angulations. Lovely head & expression with neat ears & very dark eyes. A clean muzzle housing large teeth of a correct bite. Straight front with ideal feet that are well padded. Moved well once settled; 2 Barke’s Rubicanov Wot A Cracker, brindle. Heavier dog all over than 1. I preferred the overall balance of the first placed dog. Large head with a powerful muzzle housing large teeth with a correct bite. Neat ears & again very dark eyes. Deep brisket although front a little wide. Moved & handled well. PGD (4,1a) 1 Buchan’s Happystaff Black Sabbath, b/br. Loved the look of this dog as soon as he walked in the ring. He looks to have great strength for his size & is a nice blend of bull & terrier. Presented in very good condition. His head is strong without being overdone, loved his expression. Ears & teeth both good. A powerful neck flows into good shoulders. Front straight with correct turn out at feet. Level topline. His rear is very well muscled & easily powered him up the mat. Happy to give him BD & BOB; 2 Thurston’s Pasgal Ain’t Too Proud To Beg, brindle. A different style of dog to 1st but everything in the right place. Would look better if he lost a few pounds & was a little more animated. Moved & handled well; 3 Barke’s Rubicanov Wot A Cracker. OD (4,3) 1 Davis’ Garforth King, b/br. A top size dog who showed very well. His head has a good depth to the skull but muzzle needs more depth to balance it out, lovely rose ears, which he used well, very big teeth of correct bite. Another dog with a very keen expression. Strong neck leading to well laid back shoulders with a lovely balance to his body. A visible tuck up would have improved his appearance. Moved well. PB (7,1) 1 Barke’s Felkirkstaff at Starhaze, 6 months b/br. What a lovely puppy! Lovely head shape with ears, teeth & eyes all very good. A lovely balance all over for a young pup. Straight front, very nice feet. Good angulations front & rear. Moved very well. BP; 2 Thomson’s Starolestaff Lady Bea with Siriustaff, 7 months brindle. Another very nice puppy. Slightly taller & longer than 1. Beautiful head & expression, Good teeth & ears. Just preferred over all balance of 1; 3 Hirst & Bibby’s Taraiel Lorde. JB (0). PGB (6,3) 1 Buchan’s Araidh Cherish The Day, b/br. The first thing that caught my eye with this dog was her expression, she looks ready for anything. Lovely shaped head deep throughout & really clean. Straight front with well padded feet that turn out slightly. Her topline is not her best attribute but when she moves it levelled & stayed level. Powerful shoulders & rearend that powered her up & down the mat with ease. Shown in excellent condition; 2 Tucker’s Stafftastic Grace Delilah, red. A very nice bitch who did all she could not to show herself. I saw enough to see she has a lot of attributes that fit the Standard well but lacks confidence, did not appear bold & fearless; 3 Fox’s Jolihem Fouxdofafa. OB (4,1) 1 Minney’s Longdrive Ebony Girl at Zacabelz, b/br/w. Best condition here today, a credit to her owner. Looked good from all angles. Lovely head, not overdone in any way. Really liked her length & strength of muzzle, clean lips & a good bite. Powerful neck into well muscled & laid back shoulders. Level topline & good tailset, correctly angulated rear. Very good mover who really showed herself off well. BB; 2 Jones’ Rougestaff Flaming Ice, r/w pied. A slightly heavier dog all over than 1. I preferred the depth & head shape of 1. Lovely neck & shoulders & good front & rear angulations allowing her to move well. Would have liked to have seen her a few pounds lighter; 3 J Fouxdofafa. JO-ANN ESSEX |
