STAFFORDSHIRE BULL JUDGE BOSTON 14

Staffordshire Bull Terriers

What a treat I had in store judging the Staffies as what lacked in quantity was more than made up for in quality. Both BOB & BP pulled to the cut in the groups.

PD (3)

1 Johnson’s Jonajane Sussudio, 10½ months b/br, good head & dark eye, correct bite, neat ears, well off for bone & a nicely balanced body. Movement a bit erratic until eventually he settled down to show us what he could do. BP & RBD;

2 Woolleys’ Speedhunter Paso Doble, 9 months b/br, slightly longer cast & not as mature as 1, very much a baby at the moment. He has plenty to like about him. He is by my BOB & is very well schooled & attentive to his handler;

3 Buchan’s Happystaff Black Sabbath.

JD & PGD (1) A.

OD (3)

1 Plant’s Ch Kyralobis Italian Gigalo, what a stunning dog. I gave him a terrier group when he was just out of puppy a couple of years ago & said at the time I would watch his progress with interest, & my goodness he hasn’t disappointed. To me this dog epitomises quality & balance & he is the perfect size. Not exaggerated in any way, he has a clean head & powerful jaw with a correct bite, a straight front, short coupled body with ample rib; good tuck up, strong quarters & neat feet. His movement is true both coming & going & as for temperament, you couldn’t wish to meet a nicer gentleman. BOB;

2 Fairhurst’s Fairleniums Snow Patrol, a lovely b/w pied, a very handsome eye-catching lad. Good shape to his head with dark eyes & a neat ear, wide & deep in front, enough rib & tuck up & well muscled quarters. To be hypercritical, would prefer a tad more weight;

3 McFayden’s Araidh Commitment.

PB (1)

1 Plant’s Speedhunter Samba, super 9 months b/br, what a sweetie, loved her type & can I see why as she is by my BOB. Everything in the right place for her age. Good eye & muzzle, strong teeth, good shoulders & body proportions. Movement will tighten up as she matures.

JB (0).

PGB (3,2)

1 Buchan’s Araidh Cherish The Day, b/br with well chiselled head & neat well placed ears. Good neck & shoulder, muscular loin, good tuck-up & strong quarters. Moved like a dream. RBB.

OB (2)

1 Martins’ Alvis Northern Lights, super r/w, a strong but feminine girl. She has plenty of work in the head, a lovely rose ear, ample depth & width in front & well defined musculature. Moved very well, in harmony with her owner & presented in good show condition. BB;

2 Johnson’s Challenger Incantation for Tillcar, another one out of the top drawer but in a slightly smaller package than 1. So well put together with a nice ‘cheeky’ head & a dark round eye, deep brisket, good bodylines & neat feet but today she was moving a tad close behind.
