Staffordshire Bull Terriers

One thing I must mention is the movement. The breed standard calls for parallel movement & this was sadly lacking in several exhibits who showed converging movement from behind almost resulting in single tracking which needs to be addressed urgently.

PD (2)

1 Edwards’ Mooreviews Diversity, lovely young b/br/w dog who is very strong in head with good features to match. Muscular neck leading to well laid shoulders. Short coupled with well muscled hindquarters. Not the best when stacked but looked a picture when on the move. BPD;

2 Nicholls’ Stockwoods Black Ace, there is lots to like about this youngster & he excels in many areas but is lacking in ring craft skills & it was difficult to assess movement as it was very erratic.

JD (1)

1 Boler’s Denegar Jack, although alone he was a worthy winner who really catches your eye. Looked very good when viewed from any angle & did not disappoint when I put my hands on him. Stood & moved well. He will certainly have his day when he fully matures as he is a super dog.

PGD (3)

1 Hammond’s Hammystaff Heatwave, lovely Red dog of good size who has many attributes to like about him. Very muscular & well made throughout. Did well to win the class;

2 Essex’s Javawolf Mighty Mouse, it was very close between the first two dogs & on any other day places could easily have changed. Another good exhibit who has many pleasing features throughout & who was unlucky to come up against 1;

3 Dean’s Kylestaff Eastern Assasin.

OD (9)

This was an excellent class to judge with some very good exhibits on show. The first two dogs could have changed places.

1 Dewar’s Euphemia Drummer Boy, superb b/br dog who is very masculine throughout. Fits the Standard very well & is outstanding in many areas. He has good ring presence & is at one with his handler who showed him to perfection. I am surprised to hear that he doesn’t have his title which surely can’t be far away. BOB;

2 Peacock’s Dringshaw Stoner, fantastic r/w dog who really catches your eye. An excellent example of the breed who was just simply unlucky to come up against 1. Excels in most departments & moved very well. His title can’t be far away either. RBD;

3 Small’s Merimna Mind Your Own.

PB (2)

1 Wall & Webb’s Hammystaff Hot To Trot, this young lady made my day. For one so young she really looked great & must have an excellent future. I would love to own her myself. The only thing lacking is maturity & this was the only thing that stopped her from winning BB but when it comes she should easily gain her title. It was a pleasure to be able to judge her. BP, RBB & PG2;

2 Nicholls’ Noblestaff Time To Shine, very feminine b/br bitch who has many good features but is in need of some ring training as it was difficult to judge movement as she was very unsettled.

JB (0).

PGB (6)

1 Jones’ Blazingstaff Dynamytee at Rougestaff, very pleasing feminine head with lovely dark eye & well placed ears. Muscular neck into well placed shoulders. Good front & rear assembly. Movement was close behind;

2 Minney’s Longdrive Ebony Girl, nice head with good eye colour & well set-on ears. Not as muscular throughout as 1 but had good quarters fore & aft. Didn’t have the ring presence of the class winner but looked good in profile;

3 McFadyen’s Araidh Change Of Heart.

OB (1)

1 Swift’s Leading Lady Rose, a super feminine red bitch who fits the breed standard well with nothing overdone at all. Many excellent attributes which contribute to her overall balance & soundness. Looked great when viewed from any angle & was a pleasure to judge. In very hard condition throughout. Her maturity along with her free & easy powerful movement set her apart in the challenge. One to watch. BB.
