STAFFORDSHIRE BULL JUDGE BLACKPOOL 24

Firstly, I would like to thank the Society for offering me the opportunity to judge Staffords at their Championship Show. I would also like to thank my two stewards who made everything run smoothly for my first time offering Challenge Certificates. To all the exhibitors who gave an entry and allowed me the privilege to assess your dogs, thank you. I appreciate the sporting manner in which my decisions were accepted.
I was very pleased with my entry on the day, with few absentees. There were no major mouth faults, some close canines and quite a few dirty teeth. There were examples of close rear movement and bad toplines, which we can only change through breeding choices. In general body condition could also improve, however all my placed exhibits were in good body and coat condition.

2nd 6228 Hamason Sweet Little Mystery, Robinson/Robinson-Cox/Cox

Head of good proportions, dark round eyes, and neat ears, which he used well. Good muzzle length, housing correct bite. Straight, well boned front, well angulated shoulders leading into good rib. Adequate bend of stifle, good tail set and carriage. Level topline and moved out ok.

Black Brindle/White, Flashy, well balanced, standard dog with a pleasing overall outline. Attractive headpiece of correct proportions. Dark, round eyes and neat ears, which he uses to his advantage, helping to give him a keen expression. Clean foreface, good underjaw, and correct bite. Well boned, straight front and tidy feet. Correct shoulder angulation, flowing into a good rib. Short coupled, level topline and good bend of stifle. Moved out well for his handler who gets the best from him. Pipped 2nd to the post with his showmanship which gives him the edge. I liked this dog a lot and he was considered in my top honours; I have no doubt he will gain his title, good luck. BPD PBIB

2nd 6169 Rhebelstaff \hunky Dory, Duncan
Dark Brindle. Another handsome, well balanced standard dog, who was unfortunate to have met my winner today who gave me that little bit of something extra which I am sure this youngster will gain as his confidence grows with experience. Clean head with dark round eye, well placed ears, good underjaw, and correct bite. Well laid shoulders, straight front, and neat feet. Ample rib, short coupled and good bend of stifle. Level topline and moved out well. I hope, a bright future for this one.

1ST 6177 Jackstaff Made a Boy for Albermarbull, Hart/Halifax
Red/White Pied. Top sized, well boned appealing dog with a good outline. Typical Stafford head of good proportions, round eye, neat ears, and clean foreface. Good underjaw and correct bite. Stood on a well boned, straight front with tidy feet. Good fore chest and depth of brisket. Ample rib and short coupled, well-muscled rear and correct tail set. Level topline stacked and on the move. Today, this dog did not want to move in a straight line, saying that, he showed me glimpses of correct movement both ways, enough to win him this class. Another dog I considered in my top honours and am sure he will receive them in heaps as he continues his show career. Good luck with him, enjoy!

2nd 6190 Kamaristaffs Royal Rumble, Oram
Black Brindle. Another upstanding but well-balanced dog with a clean profile. Good head of correct proportions. Round eye, which I would have preferred a tad darker, and neat ears. Clean foreface and good underjaw housing a correct bite. Good fore chest, drop of brisket and straight front. Good rib, short coupled and well angulated rear. Level topline and correct tail set/carriage. This dog moved out well for his handler.

Black Brindle. Upstanding, classy dog, who is well balanced for his size. I have never seen this dog in anything but hard condition, a credit to his owners. This class was close for me, although 1 & 2 were different in style, they both had a class and quality that you could not deny. This dogs head is clean with correct ratio of muzzle to skull. Dark round eyes and well-placed ears. Clean foreface, good underjaw, and correct bite. Well angulated shoulders flowing into his straight front on neat feet. Good fore chest and depth of brisket. Good rib, short coupled and well angulated rear. Level topline correct tail set/carriage. He moved out well for his handler using his powerful body to move with ease. His animation, expression and demeanour won him this class, I just kept wanting to look at him again. A worthy Champion, Congratulations and thank you for bringing him. DCC
