STAFFORDSHIRE BULL JUDGE BLACKPOOL 22

Overall, the quality was very good, in some classes it was excellent and of breed type, just as the standard says,
(Smooth coated, well balanced, of great strength for his size, muscular, active and agile)
The weather was mixed and the rain held off due to the strong winds
I was pleased to see that the BOB was shortlisted & Veteran and Puppy went on to win their Terrier Groups can’t remember the last time the Stafford’s did that at the same show, so it can only be good for the breed in general as both Judges came from different Groups to the Terriers.

O/D. (18,1a)

What a class can’t remember seeing 10 Champions let alone have the privilege to go over them in an open class for a long time, this was a better class than that I had at Crufts for quality and breed type, some out-standing exhibits of true breed type unfortunately had to go cardless today, but no shame in this company.

1st Desmond, ELITEBULLS CHALLANGER, JW. B/B. Well, the last time I judge him was at Crufts in a strong class and awarded him Res CC, time has moved on and the dog has got better as he has matured, easily gaining his title over and over again, you can see the quality of his progeny at all of the shows, a true ambassador of the breed, excels in movement, nice to get the pleasure of judging him again and to award him CC & B.O.B.

2nd Murphy, BROCKMAR CRACK ON, B/B. If one can push the CC winner, it’s this one, Grandest of heads and expression, strong deep through with no coarseness to him, nice rose ears and darkest of eyes, powerful strong muzzle with correct bite, good neck and clean shoulder placement, strong deep rib and good angulations, hard and fit, in good coat condition, moved covering the ground with ease, Res CC. very close decision today, one I will watch with interest.
