It was a pity the inclement weather forced us into rather cramped quarters in the marquee. I am aware that it is not customary to send Staffords round the ring, but for me judging is about comparison of dogs, not only standing but also on the move. Whilst almost all of the dogs were in great condition, I was disappointed in the movement and a lot of that might be put down to poor handling and lack of ring training. The well schooled movers stood out and it's my belief that many would have moved better if they had been trained. Many excellent heads, but too many inverted canines. Tail carriage was varied, the scorpion tails really detract from the outline. Many thanks to my stewards Jayne Crabtree and Jill Peak. DOGS MP 1 Dusklight Against All. 8 months, white dog of very good outline. His skull, ears and eyes are good. A little short in foreface, short coupled, needs time for body. Moved soundly. 2 Speediestaff Sirius Black. 6 months brindle, has good head proportions and very good chest. At the moment a little soft in condition and can tighten in front. P 1 Little Earthquakes Powerstrike at Waystaff. almost 12 months brindle, scored in hindquarters, ribbing and front action. I'd prefer him a little shorter coupled, good head proportions. Needs to harden up and this shows in the topline. Sound but lacking confidence on the move. BP Dog. 2 Calazde Blackhawk War. 10 months, good skull and eye but lacks underjaw. Better couplings than the winner, but not the angulation in rear, which showed in his action. Good topline and tail. J 1 Beckash Up N atem. 14 months, lovely type in the head and scored in chest to win this. Sound moving and carried a good topline. 2 Chapmeek Ice Patrol at Ashstaff. 14 months, I liked him a lot for type and has good body shape. Good head and eye. Arrived late and didn't really settle to his job, but he is full of quality. 3 Manark Mad Max. Y 1 Ronstaff Dash of Class. Almost 2 years, excellent breed type throughout with good balance. Very good head proportions, eye and ear. Sound moving with good carriage. In excellent condition, made the final cut in the challenge. 2 Homafar Last Chance. 20 month old pied. A little heavier in type and needed a little more waist and to fine down a little. Deep skull and foreface, scored heavily in his movement and chest to gain this place. 3 Hammystaff Hanky Panky with Idyllicstaff. PG 1 Braunstaff Feel the noise. 3 years and had the best balance in the class. His front action could be a little better. Strong head and good eyes. Score din neck to win this. 2 Bullhawk Archie Bold. 3 years, compact dog with good chest. Could have a little more underline, I liked his head and he went well. Needs a little more neck to balance him. Not the topline or tail carriage of the winner. 3 Northsaltire Nice One Sam. L 1 Manark Guns N Roses. 20 months, lovely dog standing and moving. Top size and in lovely condition. Full of breed type in topline, underline and balance. 2 Ginstean Man of God at Cwnhardd. 4 years, slightly smaller dog of excellent type. Scored in his ultra sound movement and good topline. The winner a little cleaner in shoulders but a very good dog. 3 my Top Gun at Ingenio. O A pleasure to judge, a lot of quality dogs but the winner filled my eye for type and balance. 1 Ch Rochlawie Behold the Hour - and behold the dog! 2 years and 5 months, appealed for balance and he is ultra sound on the move. I'd like just a little more leg to balance. Good head proportions, not as good in rear action on the move. 3 Berrystock Enigma Black. J Strong class. 1 Karwillage Mystic Girl. 13 months, beautiful type and movement. Top size but I loved her balance and carriage. Scored a little in strength of muzzle to win this close decision. 2 Beckash Black ice. 14 months, another lovely bitch, excellent movement and carriage. At the moment the winner is a touch more finished in head. This has a lovely topline and was close up, should have a great future. 3 Chiswellstaff Jean Genie. A touch more feminine in head which has correct proportions. 3 years black with white trim, ultra sound and lovely shape. I just preferred the eye colour of the winner, but otherwise a lovely head. In superb condition. 3 Tumblestaff Black Diamond of Chelmbull. O Again an excellent class and the top two were hard to separate. 1 Crudha Nordic Star. 2 years, feminine but with strength. Excellent movement and carried a correct topline. In peak condition. CC. 2 Rapstaff Wheelerdealer at Cilledore. 30 months, beautiful bitch with a great profile.
