STAFFORDSHIRE BULL JUDGE BITCHES CRUFTS 13

Staffordshire Bull Terriers

BITCHES – V (15)

1 Dewar’s Euphemia Black Cherry, compact b/br bitch, still has lots of eyecatching class & qualities, short back with a defined rib & good bone. Good strong well shaped head & her movement still has drive & agility;

2 Hopkins’ Trufflestaff Toffee Truffle, brindle pied bitch with loads to like, she is not as strong in the head as 1 but does have a lovely expression, moved with drive & purpose;

3 Bouter Feenstra’s Dutch/Bel/Lux/Int Ch Old Cross Guns I Salute You, showy b/br, lots of type & still knows how to put on a show.

P (12)

1 Birbeck’s Bellarouge Blithe Spirit, this is a delightful red bitch with a dark mask, super head type, short & strong & her expression is just right. She has the desired balance with good strong bone. Her outline is excellent. Moved so well for a youngster, lots of drive & full of purpose. She was well handled & did exactly what she was asked. This bitch is a genuine prospect & she went to win BP on an agreed decision;

2 Houwaart’s Jecanibo’s Aayla Secura, classy b/br bitch, she was showing her head off & it is a beautiful head! Beautifully short & strong with a dark eye & keen expression. She has a little more length to her back & 1 had better overall balance, however she presents well. The red puppy beat her for overall balance;

3 Mignano-Fricker & Fricker’s Pantycelyn Just A Dream of Calavey, good size brindle bitch presenting a very strong picture for her age. Wide, straight well boned front. Not as well off in head shape & quality as the two in front.

J (23)

The winners in class were quality bitches who were difficult to split, however this class did not have quality in depth.

1 Davies’ Braunstaff Cannock Charmer, very well presented strong brindle bitch at the top end of the Standard, she was well handled showing off all her qualities to advantage & she is sufficiently balanced. Her head is short & strong, short back & great rib, front was straight with good bone. She is a powerful bitch & she moved off well with style & ease;

2 McPhail’s Scorguie Stolen Kisses, this b/br bitch is full of quality, turned out to perfection & in top form condition. Great head & front, moved well. She is slightly longer in back than 1. This decision which could be changed on another day;

3 Wijk’s Bacardi S Girl V D Betuws Glorie, this is a good looking b/br bitch, she is well enough made but is not as showy as the bitches in front & appeared a little less confident.

Y (20)

Once again this class did not have quality in depth.

1 Van Den Broek’s Jazzygem No Fear, r/w pied, shown to great advantage. She has a sufficiently strong head with a really keen expression. Straight front with a short back & clear definition to her rib. She was exhibited in with no excess cover to her frame, moved with drive & purpose;

2 Van Dijk’s Old Cross Guns Pussy Galore, b/br bitch with lots of quality, similar size to 1 but not with the same eagerness in expression or movement;

3 Bowin’s Briganah Limited Edition, this bitch has a beautiful head & expression. She looks a treat front on with sufficient width & bone, however she is not short coupled & paid the penalty.

UG (7)

1 Mrnakova’s Pepita Wizard Bull, b/br bitch, her good overall body shape & strength won her the class, no real distinctive type to her head;

2 Moffat’s Kannechor Bewitched at Kargonstaffs, this brindle bitch has a more typical head than 1, she is short coupled but her backline was not firm;

3 I Ambassador Sun.

G (18)

1 Desmond’s Elitebull Serenity, well turned out b/br upstanding bitch, in many departments very typical. She is a grand headed bitch & her strong boned front looked good albeit with more length to her leg & backline than is desirable. She handled & moved confidently well;

2 Murray & Fawkes’ Flintstaff Helena, brindle bitch with lot of strength for size in both head & body, handled well but was not confident here;

3 P Wizard Bull.

PG (21)

1 Budge’s Cyberstaff Honey’s Lil Gal at Budgestaff, b/br at the top end of the Standard, this bitch is strong & robust in every department & was super hard muscle condition. Head & expression is true & steadfast. Wide staight front with good bone, her back is level, firm & sufficiently short. Slightly too much weight over the loin & her rear movement was a little tight but her overall qualities more than compensated. She was so well handled with an unfussy confidence, I enjoyed going over this bitch;

2 Bergundthal & Plusnina’s Crossguns Wot Else, this bitch is adequately within the Standard & presents a more refined picture than 1. Her head is the correct shape & her expression is typical. I liked her overall body make & shape. She was slightly unsettled in the ring;

3 Elrick’s Canakey Strawberry Delight of Ruadonis, r/w pied bitch, beautifully balanced & moved with great drive & presence. Her body make & shape cannot be faulted & her head is strong, however her ears are untidy & she tends to be ‘lippy’, slightly spoiling the overall look of her head & expression. She handled well to deserved her place.

ML (15)

1 Hawken’s Carfury Bal Maiden, this bitch is so well balanced & fits the Standard with ease. Everything about her is quality. Head is well defined & her expression is very typical & pleasing. Sufficient bone & good body shape & muscletone, short & compact which was maintained when she moved off effortlessly. She was beautifully presented & her skilful handling aided the picture;

2 Halifax’s Seastaff Polar Force at Jackstaff, eyecatching white bitch, a picture of strength & in top form condition. Head is strong, although slightly lacking the definition of 1. Her good dark eye provides the desired expression. Great front & hindquarters with no weakness, agile on the move, shown expertly to full advantage;

3 Caswell & Dowling’s Leger Odds On Favourite at Cyberstaff, well handled b/br bitch, slightly lacking the balanced substance of the two above.

L (17)

1 Davies’ Sebsonic Shinealight at Stormbull, real classy b/br bitch who fits the Standard so well, she is well balanced & short coupled with good definition to her rib. Correct front, wide & well boned. Her head is strong & short with an eager expression. A powerful, pleasing picture. She out-did all other competition in the class when she moved off, using her powerful hindquarters she strode out with drive & purpose. She appears enjoy the show ring & was handle very effectively. RCC;

2 McGowan & Owen’s Tagstane Fuchsia Struck, this quality brindle bitch was a pleasure to go over. Terrific strong short head & I liked her eager expression. Great front, wide, deep & straight. She is short coupled but her ribcage is not sufficiently roomy or distinctive. Powerful hindquarter, moved well. She is expertly handled with many qualities to admire;

3 Bergundthal & Plusnina’s But’s Charming Ruffians Backchat, b/br bitch, standing she looked every inch a winner & fitting the Standard so well, however her rear movement let her down.

O (42)

1 Blacker’s Ch Crossguns Memphis Belle, outstanding brindle bitch, strong, powerful & well balanced. She was presented in tip-top condition. She is short coupled with a well defined ribcage, well developed hindquarters. Good depth & width to her front, which is straight & well boned. Her head is compelling with convincing dark eyes, they could be larger but her overall expression is very pleasing. Moved with purpose & alertness maintaining her good body shape. CC & BOB on an agreed decision with my fellow judge. I was sad to see that she entirely lost her breed ring form when later in the evening she appeared in the group ring;

2 Exton’s Ch Constones Padme, this bitch is compact in style, a bitch with all the basic good qualities, she never gave up showing. Well proportioned head which meets all the requirements of the Standard & her good round eye provides a pleasing expression. Short coupled, solid & firm backline, good hindquarters. Her front is sufficiently wide & straight. In fit condition & as a consequence was really agile on the move & her handler put in the work to secure her place;

3 Dickenson & Stewart’s Devils Angel, this strapping b/br bitch has the strength & shape of head which ticks all the boxes. Lovely round eye & great ears complete the picture. Super wide straight front with substantial bone. Her ribcage could be roomer which slightly spoils her overall outline. She has well muscled hindquarters, handled & moved well.

GC (9)

1 Van Dijk’s Dutch/Lux/Int Ch Old Crossguns Better Than Sex, another good looking b/br, super strong shapely head. Strong front but lacks a little overall strength of body;

2 F Helena;

3 Dutch/Bel/Lux/Int Ch Old Crossguns I Salute You.
