STAFFOEDSHIRE BULL BIRMINGHAM NATIONAL 16

Staffordshire Bull Terriers

I want to thank the exhibitors for the super entry & the wonderful sportsmanship & applause from the ringside, I don’t think I have ever heard such a loud cheering as greeted the DCC winner, I think it was heard all over the show grounds! Of course I am not a breed specialist & I do consider this a very specialist breed & not easy to fully understand so I really appreciated the support you gave to my winners. It is a breed which I really like & take an interest in, & over the years I have judged about 500 Staffies in 15 different countries so it was a great honour to be given the opportunity to judge the breed in the country of origin & have the pleasure of seeing so many nice dogs. Thank you all for coming.

MPD (8)

1 Turner’s Quatros Ironclad Buddy, well balanced male who scored in movement & tailset. Broad skull, strong underjaw, correct bite. Well shaped eyes, neat well placed ears. Strong neck, short back, level topline & strong hindquarters, very good tailset & carriage on the move. BP;

2 Owen’s Kyraloebis Well Reem at Tagstane, more mature with strong head, short muzzle & broad skull, well shaped dark eyes. Wide straight front, good body, short back, could have lower tail carriage on the move which takes away from his overall outline, strong hindquarters which he used well on the move;

3 Hopkins’ Trufflestaff Papinashuash.

PD (8)

1 Brady’s Foylegarth Hakuna Matata, very nice head with wide skull, strong muzzle & well shaped eyes, correct bite. Strong neck, straight front, short back, could have lower tail set & better carriage on the move, good body & depth of brisket, strong hindquarters which he used well;

2 Slattery’s Dazmarnic Up For Trouble, very nice headed dog, just lacking a little confidence, could have changed places with winner if he had just been a bit stronger in temperament. He has a broad skull with pronounced cheeks, well shaped eyes, short muzzle & strong underjaw, correct bite. Straight front, short back, correct tailset & strong hindquarters;

3 Ogleby & Goosey’s Dejablues Destinys Prince.

JD (11)

1 Winwood & Tunnah’s Nerotoro Dark Element, masculine dog who scored in tailset & carriage over 2. Broad skull, good mouth, strong underjaw, well shaped eyes & neat well placed ears. Straight front with good width, strong neck & level topline with correct tailset. Strong hindquarters, moved well keeping a nice outline, a very promising youngster;

2 Edwards’ Tagstane Welsh Wonder, very nice moving male in excellent condition & showing well. Strong broad skull, correct stop & strong underjaw. Dark eyes, strong neck & good front, short back with well sprung ribs & strong hindquarters, just carries his tail a bit high on the move spoiling his outline;

3 Turner’s Tidestaff Dark Wizard.

1 Fairhurst’s Bel Ch Fairlenium’s Snow Patrol, well balanced dog who really scored on the move. Neat, well placed ears, straight front with correct width, well sprung ribs, good depth of brisket, level topline, correctly low set tail.
