STAFFORDSHIRE BULL JUDGE BELFAST 15

Staffordshire Bull Terriers

Thank you to my stewards Colin Erwin & Fred Jones who kept the ring moving efficiently, making my job easier. Thanks also to everyone who entered, I enjoyed going over all your dogs & bitches & the sporting way in which my decisions were received. I always judge the dogs on the day & who knows, on another day the placings could change.

PD (2,1a)

1 McClements & Fee’s Bultery Dark Demon, b/br of 11 months. Very well shaped head, dark eyes, tidy ears & strong muzzle. Strong neck leading to straight well boned front with good feet. Well sprung rib for age & good bend of stifle. Moved & handled well.

JD (5)

1 Geoghegan’s Warigal Red Jestor, r/w of 16 months. Strong well shaped head, darkest of eyes, correct bite & tidy ears. Straight front. Good spring of rib & level topline held on the move. Well shaped rearquarters. Moved & handled well;

2 Blakely’s Tarbhgorm Blackskull Lad, b/br of 13 months. Well shaped head with dark eyes good ears & strong muzzle. Straight front, level topline & short coupled. Moved well;

3 Ritchie’s Northsaltire Nice One Sam.

PGD (8,2)

1 McCaig’s Iolite Mariner, brindle dog in lovely condition, very appealing. Good head with all its attributes & a good mouth. Straight well boned front. Well sprung rib, short coupled & well bent stifles. He moved with drive holding a level topline;

2 Fitzharris’ Diamonds Of Blanch Days Of Glory, another brindle dog who has a well shaped head with dark eyes & lovely ears. Strong neck & straight front. Fair spring of rib, short coupled. Good rear quarters & level topline. Moved & handled well;

3 Ritchie’s Northsaltire Nice One Sam.

LD (10)

1 Chaine’s Jazz De Power Breton, there is no doubt in my mind that this young dog is destined for a UK title. Most appealing viewed from any angle. Red with white. Lovely head, make & shape, darkest of eyes, good mouth & correct ear carriage. Well boned straight front with well padded tight feet. Good spring of rib, level topline & well bent stifles. Moved & handled with style. Only beaten for CC by maturity. RCC;

2 Houghton’s Belterstaffs Ginger Joe, another quality r/w dog, who is a champion in waiting. He has a beautiful head & expression, dark eyes, good mouth & underjaw with tidy ears. Strong straight front with good body shape & fitness. However, all that said, today he was definitely not on form, perhaps on another day he could have been my winner;

3 Hawken’s Carfury Bal Dhu.

OD (6)

1 Fulford’s Elitebulls Heartbreaker for Regalbull, last time I judged this dog I gave him the RCC, since then he has matured nicely. Lovely make & shape of head, dark eyes & neat ears which enhance his expression. Short neck, straight front with good depth of brisket. Well shaped rearquarters. Fit as a flea, his condition is a credit to his owners, no effort is spared to present this boy to his best. Pleased to award him his2nd CC & BOB. I hope that the 3rd arrives shortly;

2 Corcoran’s Ch/Ir Ch Zakstaff Whats The Story, b/br of quality. Terrific shape of head, darkest of eyes & good mouth. Well boned straight front. Level topline, standing & moving. Strong well shaped rearquarters. Handled to perfection. Thank you for giving me a 2nd chance to judge him;

3 Carson’s Rapstaff Rock And Roller at Bultery.

PB (8,2)

1 Sinclair’s Keva Eriu at Katanastaff, b/br puppy who made you look back to her on more than one occasion. Classic head shape full of virtues, dark eyes, good ears, mouth & underjaw. Straight front, well padded feet & correct shoulder placement. Level topline, short coupled & well shaped rear. Moved like a pro. Handled well to BP & PG3;

2 Nicholson’s Antrelleda Just Jane at Ballindona, very pretty br/w bitch, who was in exceptional condition. Good head shape with dark eyes, well set ears, good mouth & clean lips. Straight front on tight feet. Body developing well, level topline & good rear. Moved & handled well. Only lost out on maturity;

3 McPhail’s Scorguie Solitaire.

JB (9,3)

1 Sherlock & Melia’s Rathnari Step Out In Style, pied bitch of 14 months. She has a good head with dark eyes, tidy ears & good mouth. Well boned straight front. Body developing nicely & good bend of stifle. Moved well. I think that the baiting of this bitch was a little over the top, as it’s difficult to see the bitch’s head with a hand blocking the view;

2 Byrnes’ Sandstaffs Jewel Delight at Lackyle, b/br bitch who possesses a good head with all the virtues, dark eyes & tidy ears. Straight front with well laid shoulders. Lovely body, good backend & movement. Handled very well. Again lost out to the maturity of 1;

3 McConnellogue’s Elitebull Starlight.

PGB (8,1)

1 Manito’s Dynastaff Pure Science, a smart b/br bitch (who I found out after judging could have been in Junior), lots to like about her. Beautiful shaped head with keen expression, dark eyes, good ears, mouth & underjaw. Straight front, & good feet. Well sprung rib, level topline & good backend. Moved & handled very well. On another day she could have been given top honours;

2 Jardine’s Cover Girl at Farhan, another very smart bitch who is not as strong as 1 but equal in quality. Clean well shaped head with all the virtues. Straight front. Good rib, level topline & well shaped rearquarters. Moved well, handled like a pro;

3 Molineux’s Jefmor Winter Solstice for Druidhawk.

LB (10,1)

1 Johnston & Brown’s Revelry Custom Made, b/br bitch who for me fits the bill & looking at her in the line up I found it difficult to go past her. She has a beautiful head & expression, dark eyes & good ear carriage. Bang straight front with good feet & up on pasterns. Good shoulders & spring of rib. Lovely body properties with well muscled/shaped rear. Put down in excellent order & handled to display her best qualities. Had strong competition from the winner of Open, but held her own to take CC;

2 Elrick’s Ruadonis Delilah’s Delight, r/w Standard bitch who has a split coloured head which is strong, deep & wide, dark eyes & clean muzzle. Straight well boned front with good feet. Well sprung rib & short coupled. Good width to thighs & well bent stifle. Standing & moving she is smart, today however she was carrying a tad too much weight & it cost her, Another day who knows;

3 Jenkins’ Belterstaffs Rock Steady.

OB (4)

1 McPhail’s Ch Scourgie Stolen Kisses, b/br of quality, it is easy to see why she has her title, she oozes type. Beautiful head & expression. Straight front on the best of feet. Mature in body & well shaped & muscled rearquarters. Moves freely & is handled so well. Pushed very hard for the CC. RCC today;

2 Rogers’ Ch Berrystock Charlies Angel, another quality b/br who has every virtue that the winner has. Moved & handled very well. Difficult to split these 2, on another day the places could & no doubt will change. Very worthy Champion;

3 Ritchie’s Northsaltire Force India.
