STAFFORDSHIRE BULL BATH 12 Judge: Mr M S King STAFFORDSHIRE BULL JUDGE BATH 12 My first Championship Show appointment for this breed, and I thank the Exhibitors for supporting me. On the hottest day of the year so far, I was glad to be able to utilise the in/out rings, and provide some shade for the dogs when required. MPD (2) 1. Hopkins' Trufflestaff Kichro Yuzuki. Very promising young dog of 7 mths, head coming on well, good mouth and ears, nice overall outline, moved out well, just lost out on maturity for further honours. 2. Bedford's Smokemonts Suited'n Boted. Not as forward as 1, and tending to fly ears which spoiled expression, a little erratic on the move. PD (6) 1. Butler's Torostaff Our Billy. Robust and strong 11 mth old dog, powerfully built throughout, good head and ears, well boned straight front legs, muscular neck, well bodied, tending to carry tail a little high on the move. BP. 2. Matviakova and Choma's Satip Sorboss. Still a bit more maturing to come, but head developing nicely, not always using ears, good front, moved Ok, would have liked a bit more animation. 3. Lewis's Charmonics Regal Lad. JD (7) 1. Moore and Callum's Eclpstaff Rude Boy. Compact and solid type, nicely balanced head, when standing correctly presented good front, well laid shoulders, quality mover, one of the best of the day. 2. Cramer's Staffstyle Eskimo Pied. Attractive dog with good head, broad skull and dark eye, little heavy in shoulders, not as positive on the move as 1. 3. Thomas and Thomas' Ashstock Knight Shadow. ND (3) 1. Torostaff Our Billy. 2. Ashstock Knight Shadow. A little long cast for my preference, and loose on the move, but good head and front construction. 3. Robbins' Antroboss In The Red with Jakastaffs. PGD (7) 1. Winwood and Tunnah's Antroboss Tempestra Nera. Niceley balanced, compact and without exaggeration, good head and eye, well bodied, coat not at its best. 2. McDermott's Waystaff Dutch Chieftain. Good overall shape, nice head, muscular neck, deep brisket, strong quarters, moved OK. 3. Byrne's Bernies Gaelic Star. LD (10) 1. Hyde's Sedgbred Black Diamond. Had to work hard to win this competitive class, expression improved when he decided to use his ears to advantage, good head of correct proportions, clean cut front, nice bone, well bodied with good spring of rib, steady mover. Res Dog CC. 2. Jones' Inner Steel of Foyleoak. Very close decision, I liked this well balanced dog a lot, nice size and shape, well bodied with good topline and tail set, played the handler up on the move, but did move true when deciding to cooperate. 3. Wall and Webb's Manark Predator. OD (10.1) 1. Woolett's Ashstock Red Miller. Compact and workmanlike sturdy red dog, great head, mouth, dark eye, good ears, nice neck and shoulders, neat body shape with well sprung ribs, moved Ok. Dog CC. 2. Matthews and Patrick's Absolute Star. Nice size, broad skull, nicely made front, not as positive on the move as 1. 3. Williams' Hubbulls Nebraska at Mountarw. VD (1) 1. Clark's David Brown. 7 yr old dog with no signs of age, with good clean teeth and no excess weight, a little up on the leg. MPB (1) 1. Scotland's Callastaff Madame George. Alone but deserving of placing, very feminine appearance, head still needs more time, overall picture improved when setting up correctly and not over stretching back legs, moved confidently. PB (2) 1. Ferguson's Challimers Little Lady. 9 mth old red and white bitch, good head developing but not always using ears, body coming on well, good mover. 2. Woollett, Wall and Webb's Manark Miss Meadow. A little loose in topline and also on the move, more maturity should see things firm up. JB (10) 1. Hughes' Misdar's Crowd Pleaser. Compact black brindle, strong head, good ears, good neck and shoulders, close coupled with good topline, moved ok. 2. Harvey's Kyraloebis Sweetest Taboo. Attractive type, but did not seem to be putting it all in. 3. Bergundthal and Blacker's Crossguns Wot Else. NB (5.1) 1. Mishdar's Crowd Pleaser. 2. Membury's Mitzstaff Scrummalicious. Strongly built bitch, not always using ears which detracted from expression, nice clean cut front, good body. Moved OK. 3. Matthews and Patrick's Howfenstaff Paddy's Girl at Paljaz. PGB (9) 1. Stokes' Oxstocks Cherry Blossom. Judged this one previously when still a puppy, and pleased to see she has come on since then, balanced strong head without any coarseness, good neck and shoulders, nice outline, moved with confidence, pressed hard for further honours. 2. Hopkin's Trufflestaff Hasina Bahiti. Very pretty bitch, nice shape and size, good front and shoulders, held topline on the move. 3. Robinson, Robinson-Cox and Cox's Jefmor Fire and Ice of Hamason. LB (14) 1. Bruton's Zakstaff Black Duchess. Balanced and robust, good head with dark eye, clean cut shoulders, well bodied, moved ok. 2. Hirst and Bibby's Taraiel Ciara. Initially unsettled and unsure of herself, but could not deny positive virtues of this bitch, very nice type overall, liked head and expression, well bodied, nice size. 3. Hyde's Sedgbred Beacon Baroness. OB (13) 1. Sem and Ullaflaen's Celunas Do Wah Diddy. For me not only stood out in this class, but stood out against all others on the day, great profile with the right balance of bull and terrier type, well balanced head, good ears, dark eye, not the biggest of bitches but the best of balance without coarseness and exaggeration , moved soundly. Bitch CC and BOB. 2. Winwood and Tunnah's Cursus Summer Storm. Neat and compact type, being of good size and shape, well made front and hindquarters, unlucky to meet 1. Res Bitch CC. 3. Clement's Sajojistaff Skies on Fire. VB (1) . Fletcher and Seedhouse's Granitangel Solar Fire. 8 yr old and carrying a bit of weight over the shoulders, moving a little close behind, but good overall type. Max King (Judge) |
