SKYE JUDGE WINDSOR 10

Skye Terriers

I would like to thank Windsor for putting on Skye Terrier classes for the first time at this prestigious show. I was very honoured to be asked to be the first to judge our ‘heavenly breed’. Unfortunately I did not draw a good entry but the dogs that did enter were all top quality & so well presented.

PD (1)

1 Richardsons’ Talyot Learchus, stunning 11 months puppy with a sure bright future, presented lovely outline of long, low & level & great showman to top, gorgeous head of strength with good jaw, strong erect ears, fringes coming & dark black expressive eyes, very nice body with good ribs, firm backline to tail carried well, super well presented coat of good length for age, just very nice to go over, correct angles with muscletone, moved out very soundly with plenty of drive on good legs & feet showing pads. BP.

OD (3)

Lovely class, all 3 could change places.

1 Breezes’ Ch Salena Black Shadow, very smart & masculine, have always liked, never put foot wrong, masculine head well veiled with well set ears with lovely black fringes, dark eyes, strong jaw, lovely neck & shoulders, firmly held topline, tail well set & carried, excellent body substance & well ribbed back, gorgeous coat & condition, so well presented, excellent angles, very well muscled, strong well boned legs & feet, well handled & moved so soundly with plenty of drive holding topline. BD, BOB & G3;

2 Barraclough’s Ch Skyeotts Midnight Majesty at Wemoway, another of quality, have admired & judged before, has developed into super dog, great masculine head with lovely dark eyes, dropped ears set well & close into head & so well fringed, geat strength of neck so well muscled, good back line & rump with nice tailset, strong well ribbed body covered in fabulous black coat so well presented, nice to go over, well boned short legs & strong feet, moved & handled well. Inclined to dip in topline. RBD;

3 Curtis’ Gumshoe Bugsy Malone of Brakemill. V (0).

PB, JB & PGB (0).

OB (3,1a)

1 Barracloughs’ Ch/Su Ch Skyeotts Amnesix High Sky Miracle at Wemoway, stunning black drop eared with fantastic outline, such a feminine but strong head well developed with dropped ears well into cheeks, well shaped dark expressive eyes, good substance & angles, ribs well back, good topline to tail well carried, stunning coat texture, length & presentation, well boned short legs & strong feet, moved out beautifully, was sound with drive. BB;

2 Breezes’ Salena She’s The One, very stylish & feminine, lovely outline & good backline, nice tailset & carriage, correct strength, development & shape to head. Would like little more veiling. Good ear placement with nice fringing, strong neck to shoulder, well bodied & ribbed back, good deep chest & body, neat well boned legs, strong well padded feet, lovely coat texture. Just lacking length compared to 1. Strong, sound positive mover once settled. RBB.
