SKYE WELSH KC 16 Skye Terrier Judge: Mrs Z Thorn-Andrews BEST OF BREED : 5067 CURTIS Mrs J Ch Brakemill Briar Rose SKYE JUDGE WELSH KENNEL CLUB 16 Skye Terriers VD (2) 1 CC, Harrison’s Ir Ch Knowlespring Jail House Rock for Trenson, cracking dog in wonderful condition for 9 years old. Super to go over & his topline is amazing. Sound & free on the move & in immaculate coat & muscular condition; 2 King’s Celticbridge Moonlight, topline has gone a bit now, but his size & lovely coat texture are good, moved OK for age & has an impressive head & eyes. PD (1) 1 Woodhead’s Knowlespring Drummer Boy, promising puppy with lovely head & the deepest of pigments. Ears set nicely, good neck, front rather over crooked, well bodied for age & smashing hindquarters. Coat coming on well. Keeps a firm backline in profile movement & his quarters are superb. JD & PGD (0). LD (1) A. OD (4,1a) 1 RCC, Burscough’s Glorfindel Sweet Shadow at Kilfinan, nice to go over & unexaggerated in length of back, so well balanced & fit, good quarters, firm topline & immaculate coat presentation. Holds himself proudly & I admired his head & expression; 2 Curtis’ Ch Brakemill Barnum, sadly dropping one ear on the day but also appealed for height to length, well bodied, powerful quarters & a beautiful coat; 3 Breeze’s Salena The Magnificent One. VB (0). PB (2) 1 RCC & BP, Monaghan’s Tweedsmuir Shooting Star, super front & lay of shoulders. Lovely head, correct length & strength of muzzle, good body & spring of rib for a puppy, powerful quarters, keeps a good firm backline on the move which is straight, precise & long reach. Very promising indeed; 2 Downes’ Tweedsmuir Star Wonder among Tsuki, similar inn head properties, not the front of winner & she lacks any spring of rib. Super rear & she too has a super topline. JB (0) . PGB (4,1) 1 Burscough’s Glorfindel Shadow Wings at Kilfinan, good proportions of height to length, firm topline, lovely head, OK in front, well boned throughout, she has a large head but is refined, well fringed ears, good body & super quarters, excellent mover all round; 2 Zvezdina’s Juger Edelweiss Mary Poppins, lovely coat & colour, good head & expressive eyes, OK in front construction but I thought she was slightly favouring a leg in front, not enough to say she was lame but she certainly wasn’t going with enthusiasm. Nice throughout & beautifully put down; 3 King’s Glorfindel Spring Surprise for Celticbridge. LB (0). OB (4,1) 1 CC & BOB, Curtis’ Ch Brakemill Briar Rose, a lovely class, winner nicely balanced, has a good front & forechest, elegant neckline, pretty good spring of rib & powerful quarters. Coat in lovely condition, pleasing head & eyes set well. Moved out with a good long stride & some purpose; 2 Breeze’s Salena Silver Sapphire, also elegant but not keen on the harsh handling, the bitch being constantly pulled up by the lead. Also a good sort of front, lovely head, moved close going away; 3 Woodhead’s Ch/Ir Ch Knowlespring Mistletoe. ZENA THORN ANDREWS
