SKYE WELSH KENNEL CLUB 15 Judge: Mr D Ericsson BEST OF BREED : 4920 CURTIS Mrs J Ch Brakemill Barnum Sh.CM SKYE JUDGE WELSH KENNEL CLUB 15 Skye Terriers Not a big entry but full of quality. VD (2) 1 Harrison’s Ir Ch Knowelspring Jail House Rock for Trenson, very masculine cream dog of excellent length, deep body, good bone, sound muscular hindquarters, a little strong in head & ears set rather wide, in wonderful coat & bloom, moved well. BV; 2 Ankcorn’s Feorlig True Destiny of Pensford, another cream dog with excellent outline, good neck & shoulders, level topline, good tail & hindquarters, a little fine in bone & body & he would have benefitted from more ear fringing, pleasing head, moved OK. PD (1) 1 Large’s Juger Edelweiss Mickey Mouse is Madaza, sizeable drop eared dog puppy with very long body & right now at a very raw stage but his frame is good, just needs to drop in body & settle in front, good head & expression, coat of good texture, strong quarters. BP. JD (1) 1 Large’s Bunnybois Indulgence is Madaza, big black dog in very full coat of excellent texture, deep body, sound front & rear, would have preferred more quality in head, good length of neck, level topline, rather tense on the table & also when moving. PGD (1) 1 Grainger’s Perrylands Monro, well constructed dog who should be more masculine all over, he is however beautifully constructed with lovely head, ears & expression but he needs more bone & better spring of rib for a male, rather narrow in front, good quarters, very good coat, moved well, presents a splendid outline when stacked. LD (3) 1 Mcleod’s Esgia Murray’s Olympic Gold, this dog handles very well on the table with excellent front, neck & shoulders & he has a long deep body & sound quarters, masculine head, would have liked ears set better, moved OK, just needs to hold himself together a little more when moving & he will look even better; 2 Bailey’s Talyot Nimrod by Marjayn, beautiful outline with long clean neck merging into deep long body, strong bone, not so pleasing in front, good quarters, lovely head with particularly good ears, not in his best coat today & he is a little close behind when moving; 3 King’s Fun And Games at Celticbridge. OD (7,2a) Lovely class with much food for thought ultimately headed by 1 Curtis’ Ch Brakemill Barnum, all quality dog in beautiful coat & condition, lovely head, eyes & ears, sound front, good bone, dead level topline & extra sound behind with tail carried perfectly, wonderful coat in gleaming condition, easy fluid mover demonstrating perfection of balance. CC, BOB. Delighted to see him shortlisted in the Group; 2 Breeze’s Ch Salena The Special One, another very good dog who scores in neck & shoulders, good head, excellent ears, level topline, moved well, coat texture not perfect & he could have carried his tail a little more positively, but overall a lovely dog so not an easy decision between these two top class Skyes. RCC; 3 Marshall’s Emoticon Kiaora Glorfindel. VB (2) 1 Shuttleworth’s Perrylands Stroller cum Whicheeta, 10 year old in lovely condition & very feminine of excellent size, sound front & rear, pleasing head, good topline & coat, moved OK for age; 2 King’s Celticbridge Spring Magic, cream coloured bitch also in good form for being a veteran, very good body & topline, excellent front, could do with a little more neck & more quality in head, good coat, excellent temperament & she was well presented. PB (0). JB (2) 1 Marshall’s Glorfindel Shadow Witch, attractive feminine bitch of lovely type & size, very good head & ears, pleasing neck, fair front, good deep body, excellent coat texture, moved OK but a little apprehensive in the ring; 2 Burscough’s Glorfindel Shadow Wings at Kilfinan, well made bitch with sound front & rear, a little shorter in neck & body & ears could be set setter, pleasing head, good spring of rib, excellent coat & she moved well, just preferred the extra overall length of the winner. PGB (2) 1 Shuttleworth’s Perrylands Cassidy at Whicheeta, quality bitch of lovely type & overall balance, very good neck & outline, feminine head, a little fine in bone & body & front not her fortune, built on excellent lines overall & she moved OK, in good coat; 2 Hasker’s Perrylands Toffee, feminine cream bitch handled sympathetically by her very young handler who tried so hard to get the best out of her – not always easy! Feminine head, good coat, very light in bone & body, movement difficult to assess. LB (3) 1 Marshall’s Skyewalkers Ozone Baby, lovely blond bitch who I liked a lot, glorious neck & shoulders, very good body & topline, pleasing head with good eyes & well set ears, front not so pleasing & she could have been a little more cooperative in the ring, wonderful coat texture, moved OK, well presented. RCC; 2 Smith’s Marrcrieff Glen Glamis, bigger & taller bitch but very soundly made with good front & rear, but she needs to drop in body & she could be more feminine all over, good coat, excellent mover; 3 Mcleod’s Esgia Andi’s Wimbledon Dream. OB (5,2) 1 Woodhead’s Ch/Ir Ch Knowlespring Mistletoe, top class bitch who handled very well, perfect front, very good neck & shoulders, good body & topline, excellent head & ears, correct coat in pristine condition, precise fluid mover. CC; 2 Curtis’ Ch Brakemill Briar Rose, this is another very good bitch who handles very well, excellent head & body, OK in front & rear, coat in good order, not as collected or cooperative on the move as the eventual winner; 3 King’s Celticbridge Spring Magic.
