SKYE JUDGE SCOTTISH BREEDS 10

Skye Terriers

I was sorry there were several absentees; it always makes a judge’s job hard when numbers are low. I was very pleased with my CC winners & BP & was sorry to have to withhold in a class however, for the good of the breed felt it was the correct decision.

VD (1)

1 Kendrick’s Jeraro Endeavour, 8 year old cream, sound dog in good coat but did not hold his topline moving or standing – pity.

MPD (0).

PD (2,1a)

1 Robson’s Knowlespring Daredevil Dan with Mitsui, strong cream 11 month old, enjoying life to the full, he has a great balance & outline, good cream coat with dark points, moved very soundly when settled & I envisage a great future for him. RCC & BP.

JD (1)

1 Harrison’s Papplewick Knockando for Trenson, good silver sound dog enjoying his day, moved well, constructed well, good coat. A little tall for me but a good type.

ND (0).

PGD (1) A

. LD (3)

1 Barrass’ Gallondean Moonlite Shadow, dark almost black dog expertly handled by a confident young lady, has all the attributes of a sound specimen of the breed, good coat, well proportioned, sound, kept his topline, just lacks a little in glamour for the top spot;

2 Harrison’s Knowlespring Jail House Roc for Trenson, another really sound well constructed dog, moved well. Not quite the length I would like;

3 Samuel’s Skyelander Wee Man of Storr.

OD (3,1)

1 Breeze’s Ch Salena Black Shadow, well known winner fresh from his BOB win at Crufts, he has a beautiful outline, well put together, moved with drive & as always turned out & handled to perfection. CC;

2 Curtis’ Gumshoe Bugsy Malone of Brakemill, another very nice dog, well constructed, level, good coat & sound, has a stronger head than 1 but lacks a little in length, did nothing wrong, just not the finish of 1.

VB (4,2)

1 Barrass’ Ch Gallondean Charlies Angel, enjoying her day out with her young handler, can still hold her own & move soundly, well put together & well turned out;

2 MacQueen’s Ch Acheo Achiltibuie, an old favourite of mine, longer than 1 but could not hold her topline level today so had to give way.

MPB (2)

Two 7 month old litter sisters entered, unfortunately I felt neither were of show quality or show potential so felt I had to withhold any award at ch level.

PB (3,1)

1 Woodhead’s Knowlespring Dream Cream, flashy eyecatching puppy, low level with good reach of neck, litter sister to BP & I am sure will change places with him as they mature;

2 Proud’s Knowlespring Dream To Walk to Dolphaz, another very nice pup from the same litter, the breeder must be delighted with them, very close between 1 & 2, at present 1 is a little lower. Moved soundly & I am sure they will all be swapping around as they get older.

JB (2,1)

1 Boothman’s Papplewick Strathisla of Caranath, promising young lady enjoying her day, good hard coat, has all the essentials & I am sure she & her owner will have lots of fun as she matures.

NB (1)

1 Woodhead’s Knowlespring Hot Property, not the strongest contender from this kennel, head not really strong enough & she did not move too well.

PGB (2)

1 McLeod’s Esgia’s Sula The Late Edition, nice standing although she is a little short in neck & a little high at shoulder for her length for me. She has a good hard coat & moved very soundly;

2 Lynch’s Maridale Bella Figlia, has a lot of promise, good outline, correct head, coat etc. Unfortunately she was a little nervous which ended up spoiling her chances. However after learning she has not had the best start in life the owner has done well to get her into the show ring, I wish her well.

LB (4,1)

1 Robson’s Lynaire Shes No Lady with Mitsui, has the essentials, in good proportion, good front, reach of neck, moved well, enjoying her day out;

2 Garland-Collins’ Bhuidh Motholeli, similar to 1 but did not give quite as good a performance, I am sure these two will swap around in future;

3 Samuel’s Skyelander Midnight Dream.

OB (4,2)

1 MacQueen’s Ch Azrakhan Capercaille, what a delightful bitch this is, has everything I was looking for, in tremendous proportion, long, low & very level both standing & moving, strong but feminine head, good reach of neck, tight front & moved with drive, is at the top end of size for me but nevertheless I was delighted to award CC & BOB, also thrilled to hear she had been pulled out in the last 4 for BIS;

2 Breeze’s Salena She’s The One, a quality bitch from this kennel, she has glamour & looks a picture, I am sure her day will come, however she had to give way to a superior bitch today. RCC.
