Skye Terriers

A weekend of miserable weather at the Highland Showground.

Temperaments excellent but unfortunately not matched by fronts & where have all the big gleaming white teeth gone?

PD (2)

1 Marshall’s Emoticon Kiaora, 9 months, very promising cream, still puppyish but you can tell he’s definitely male. Good dark eyes, strong jaw & teeth, excellent pigmentation, good length to his neck, strong & into good forehand, outline ratios good with his length & level strong topline, tail carried correctly & moved true. BP.

JD (1)

1 Curtis’ Brakemill Barnum, 14 months cream who instantly took my eye, coat still displaying that dark wave that immature creams have but a good male head, strong muzzle with beautifully strong big teeth & great contrasting pigmentation, strong through his neck & well constructed fore, also portraying a lovely outline with length & strength to his topline, true in movement. With a little bit more maturity it is easy to see him gaining the CC & the puppy won’t be far behind. RCC.

PGD (31)

1 Parker’s Glorfindel Deacon Brodie, dark silver with masculine looks, good depth to lower jaw & very good teeth. Would prefer a tighter fore but liked his shoulder lay & topline. Very nice in profile & outmoved

2 Stewart’s Glorfindel Secret Service, dark silver, again masculine but not the strength on jaw of 1. Good lay of shoulder but topline not as clean as would like.

LD (2)

1 Shuttleworth’s Whicheeta Celtic Keepsake, dark silver of impressive stature, masculine head, good pigmentation & keen eyed, good fore lay of shoulder but again would have preferred a cleaner outline. Moved well & in line.

OD (3)

1 Breeze’s Ch Salena The Special One, silver who commands attention at all times, well shaped skull, dark keen eyes & good pigmentation, good length to neck into well laid shoulders & the best front of the dogs here, long low & level with a beautiful profile, in immaculate condition & doesn’t put a foot wrong, floats round the ring with no hesitations & a joy to watch. CC & BOB;

2 Richardson’s Talyot Learchus, another impressive dark silver, all male in head with good muzzle strength. Sound in his fore but doesn’t quite have the profile I look for. Handled & moved very well though carried his tail a tad high.

PB (2)

1 Monaghan’s Zippi Girl iz Psov Grada, 8 months beautiful black, really responsive use of her ears, bright eyed, feminine with clean scissor teeth, pretty good front for a baby & is certainly long & low. Still growing & a tad higher at the rear for now, while her movement was generally very good, the occasional bunny hop meant she couldn’t match the PD. Look forward to the progress of this one.

PGB (3)

1 Proud’s Salena Midnight Diamond for Dolphaz, dark silver very feminine girl, long, low & level with clean neck, good front & body. Not quite so well furnished as 2 but overall profile & movement superior. Strongly considered for RCC;

2 Barass’ Lavaux Spirit Of The Isle of Gallondean, dark girl with good strong muzzle & teeth. Sound in the fore but not quite matched at the rear where her croup fell away more than I would like. Strong in movement, just outshone by 1.

LB (2)

1 Goodlad’s Laurence Kirk’s Beauty Queen, cream with dark pigmentation, dark eyes & good teeth, though would prefer a bit more length to her muzzle. Ratios pretty good & moved the best of the two;

2 Grainger’s Perrylands Georgia, another cream, good pigmentation & teeth but would prefer more strength to her jaws. Not my favourite earset & somewhat lacking in coat, preferred length of 1. Moved soundly.

OB (7)

1 Marshall’s Bhuidh Sojourners Truth at Glorfindel, impressive silver, well balanced skull, strong in jaw but retaining femininity, best front of the bitches with level long topline & good drive from the rear. Moved soundly but couldn’t quite match the performance of the dog. CC;

2 Bailey & Hansell’s Celticbridge My Lady by Marjayn, 5 years dark silver very eyecatching in profile, balanced head, good teeth & arch of neck, sound in fore, deep chested & well sprung. Didn’t make life easy for her handler & maybe carrying a bit too much cover spoiled her chances. RCC;

3 L K Beauty Queen.
