SKYE RICHMOND 11 Judge: Dan Ericsson (Raglan) (Sweden) SKYE JUDGE RICHMOND 11 Skye Terriers A small overall entry but full of quality & a pleasure to judge. VD (2) 1 Barraclough’s Ch Skyeotts Midnight Majesty at Wemoway, lovely old fellow, good head, OK front, very long & low, beautiful coat & condition & he goes well. Topline could be stronger; 2 Lynch’s Kenmilltri Fraxinus, masculine, good coated, in lovely form, excellent head, body & topline. Front & shoulders not so pleasing & he could have been more co-operative on the move. JD (1) 1 White’s Talyot Menelaus at Gumshoe, a very promising young dog, handles very well. Pleasing head, really excellent neck & shoulders, level topline. Just needs time to develop in body. Promising coat of correct texture, moves well when he gets his act together. LD (2) 1 Miller’s Feorlig Arfur Sixpence, lovely type & size, beautifully balanced, clean outline, perfect neck & shoulders, good body & rear, glides round the ring with enviable freedom of movement. Ears set rather wide & a little short in head. A lovely dog overall. RCC; 2 Shuttleworth’s Whicheeta Celtic Keepsake, very masculine, heavily coated, in good order, good head & body. Tends to carry his tail a little high at times & movement could be more fluid. OD (3) 1 Breeze’s Ch Salena Black Shadow, outstanding dog of ideal size, beautiful neck & shoulders, typical head, very good body, excellent coat in tip-top form, easy effortless mover, never put a foot wrong. CC & BOB; 2 Curtis’ Gumshoe Bugsy Malone of Brakemill, very good masculine dog, a little stronger in build all over than 1. Pleasing outline, good body & very long, excellent topline, superb coat texture. Unlucky to meet 1 who scored in freedom of movement; 3 Samuel’s Ch Skyelander Wee Man of Storr. VB (1) 1 Macqueen’s Acheo Achiltibuie, beautiful veteran bitch who appealed greatly. Beautiful head & ears, lovely clean neck & shoulders, good body, wonderful coat of perfect texture. Moved well & pressed very hard in the challenge. RCC. JB (0). LB (3) Difficult class with 3 bitches of very different types. 1 Samuel’s Skyelander Midnight Dream, strong sizeable bitch who handles very well on the table. A little strong in head. Sound front & rear, long level back, very good coat, easy mover; 2 White’s Salena Special Effect at Gumshoe, better size but lighter in bone. I would have liked ears set better & also a better tail. Good coat, body & topline, not so co-ordinated on the move; 3 Shuttleworth’s Whicheeta Celtic Cruisader. OB (4) 1 Barraclough’s Ch/Sw Ch Skyeotts Amnesix High Skye Miracle at Wemoway, very free moving drop-eared bitch who impressed greatly. Beautiful outline, very long & low, ultra sound rear, good coat & condition, typical head, carries herself with pride. A lovely bitch. CC; 2 McLeod’s Esgia’s Sula The Late Edition, impressive bitch, presenting a lovely overall picture & handles really well. Good head, front, body & coat. Perhaps a fraction short in neck on the move & tail not so positive at times. Beautifully presented; 3 Macqueen’s Ch Azrakhan Capercaillie. DAN ERICSSON |
