SKYE PAIGNTON 12 Judge: Mrs J Viles BEST OF BREED : 3923 BREEZE Mrs S Ch Salena The Special One SKYE JUDGE PAIGNTON 12 Skye Terriers Although a numerically small entry the quality of the exhibits was fantastic, all immaculately presented. It is always a great pleasure to be as spoilt for choice as I was. The ring was small unfortunately because the pouring rain prevented use of the whole area. All the Skyes coped well with the limited space & uneven surface. It was a pleasure to watch their lovely flowing movement. Then the added bonus to be told that BOB had gone on to be placed G3. PD (0). JD (1) 1 Parker’s Glorfindel Deacon Brodie, handsome young man, just out of puppy, well muscled, in good coat for age, masculine head, well set ears, darkest of eyes, nice reach of neck & good lay of shoulder. Gave his handler a tough time on the move but when settled moved with drive & kept topline well. PGD (0). LD (2) A difficult choice with little to choose between these two lovely dogs. 1 Shuttleworth’s Whicheeta Celtic Keepsake, long, low & moved beautifully, masculine head, well set & fringed ears, correct front, nice reach of neck. Just slightly lower than 2 Ankcorn’s Feorlig True Destiny of Pensford, cream, in good coat which was harsh & with dark points. Excellent lay of shoulder, arched neck, good length of rib, super movement with plenty of drive from his well muscled quarters. OD (2) 1 Breeze’s Ch Salena The Special One, elegant grey, excelled in every department, beautifully put together, masculine head, well set & heavily fringed ears, good reach of neck into well laid shoulders, good length of rib & perfectly level topline which he kept both standing & moving. Long, low with harsh floor length coat. CC, BOB & G3; 2 Marshall’s Glorfindel Black Mage, really handsome & mature black, slightly taller than 1 but so well constructed. In fantastic coat, moved really well with level topline & good tail carriage. RCC. PB (1) 1 Grainger’s Perrylands Georgia, I was totally taken by this young lady, the prettiest of heads, well set ears, super front & neckline, well muscled, in good coat for age. Moved like a dream, simply flowing around the ring. I seriously considered her for the RCC but just lacked a little in maturity. One I would love to have taken home, should have a very bright future I’m sure. BP. JB & PGB (0). LB (1) 1 Shuttleworth’s Whicheeta Celtic Cruisader, elegant silver, well laid shoulders, excellent reach of neck, level topline, feminine head, good earset, long harsh coat, well muscled, moved steadily with drive keeping her topline both standing & on the move. RCC. OB (2) 1 Marshall’s Ch Glorfindel Lucretia, elegant bitch, in super coat, looked a picture, level topline, super head carriage, good front, well laid shoulders & length of rib, feminine head, correct earset, moved steadily with drive & style. CC; 2 McLeod’s Ch Esgias Sula The Late Edition, lovely bitch, feminine & a pleasure to handle. Super head, good earset, correct front & arch of neck, long low & level, in excellent coat, very enthusiastic on the move but kept topline well. JULIE VILES |
