SKYE NATIONAL TERRIER 17 Skye Terrier Judge: Mrs C E Parker BEST OF BREED : 956 ZVEZDINA Miss A Juger Edelweiss Mary Poppins (Imp) SKYE JUDGE NATIONAL TERRIER 17 NATIONAL TERRIER 2017 Thank you to the Society, the stewards and exhibitors. This was an appointment I had looked forward to and being inside the weather was not a concern I had to worry about. Prior to the show some had been busy predicting the winners, I don’t know whether they were right or not, but I came home with a clear conscience. At the end of the day you can only judge what is in front of you and on occasions you are disappointed as ones you like just don’t perform on the day. The dogs were shown in good clean condition and I was pleased to see clean teeth and no soft ears. The hall was very noisy and also a number of dogs were not happy with the ring which in turn affected movement. This did have a bearing on some of my decisions. MPD NO ENTRIES PD (1)(0) JD ((1)(0) PGD (1)(0) LD (3)(0) Interesting class. Three different types and all had something to offer. 2 and 3 were just unfortunate to meet the winner. 2 Thomson’s Glorfindel Shadow Boxer SHCM. I’ve admired him since a youngster watched him develop. He is a frustrating dog who is correctly made, balanced and so typical of the breed. Unfortunately he is not a natural showman and this is where he tends to lose out. However, he is certainly worth persevering with and his day will come. 3 Bailey’s Talyot Nimrod by Marjayn. Lacking in coat today which made it easier to enjoy his construction. OD (3)(0) 2 Marshall’s Emoticon Kiaora Glorfindel (Imp) Good head and expression. Lot of substance to him, to be picky would like a better front, but certainly not the worst today. His jacket has improved as he has aged and enhances his proportions. Level top line but not quite as long as winner. 3 Burscough’s Glorfindel Secret Shadow At Kilfinan SHCM. Well balanced, pleasing outline and so much to like. Unfortunately today was not his day. PB (2)(0) 2 Heath’s Perryland Hello Again. Not as settled on the move as winner. Nice outline, correct head and gentle dark eyes. Just needs time to mature. JB (4)(0) 2 Woodhead’s Knowlespring Candy Cane. If only she had settled and definitely not happy with the noisy venue. Having said that she has the potential to go all the way. 3 ‘Ls’ covered by correct coat and her head has that certain ‘something’. 3 Robert’s Glorfindel Effort at Sunabil PGB (4 )(1) 2 Bryden’s Esgia's Sula Froya. On first glance she looks the part but unfortunately not the happiest on the table which was also reflected in her movement. She3 certainly let her handler down. 3 Downes’ Tweedsmuir Star Wonder Among Tsuki. Nice bitch who doesn’t always make the most of herself. LB (3 )(1) 2 Marshall’s But Beautiful Of Morningsky. Liked her as youngster and still do. Sadly today she was certainly not happy with the noisy venue and ring which was reflected in her movement. When she relaxed she was well balanced and put down in excellent condition. OB (2)(0) 2 Barrass’ Ch Lavaux Spirit Of The Isle Of Gallondean SHCM. Pleasing type, very soundly made but tending to roach at times both standing and on the move. She certainly made her handler work in the ring. CATH PARKER
