SKYE NAT DOG SHOW 09 Judge: Mr Vic Thomas SKYE JUDGE NAT DOG SHOW 09 Skye Terriers What a pity there were no puppies entered to establish entries for future shows, but at least the limited numbers present were good quality Skyes. Of particular satisfaction to myself, & more importantly the breed, was the choice of Skye BOB as G3 in a large terrier group. JD (1) 1 King’s Celticbridge North Wind, nice cream, pleasing outline, good head waiting for furnishings to develop, well placed on neck & satisfactory front, strong body, coat of correct texture, always level & good movement with some drive. PGD (5) 1 Ankcorn’s Feorlig True Destiny of Pensford, good cream, very nice head & neck, well placed pricked black ears but limited feathering, satisfactory mouth, good well built shaped body, quite nice coat, level topline when stacked & moving, parallel legs & feet giving excellent movement, good earset, more important for me than furnishings, reflected in class placement, while his RCC was much based on breed Standard movement, best on the day; 2 Samuel’s Skyelander Wee Man of Storr, well coated dark silver drop eared Sky, excellent example of the type, lovely head in all aspects, good front & body, level topline, nice tail & very good movement; 3 Parker’s Glorfindel Basil Brush. LD (4) 1 Breeze’s Salena Black Shadow, first impression – excellent breed specimen, borne out by subsequent hands-on. Very nice dark silver, beautiful head & darkest eyes, correct earset, long crested neck giving good separation of head from body, excellent front & well muscled neat body, always level & low, beautiful presentation with top class movement. CC & BOB; 2 Samuel’s Glorfindel Son Of Angus, dark silver of larger size, nice head, good furnishings, good body & correct coat & quite level, very good lively movement & overall a nice breed specimen; 3 Harrison’s Knowlespring Jail House Rock fro Trenson. OD (2,1) 1 Kendrick’s Jeraro Endeavour, nice coated silver/cr, good head & dark furnishings, sound mouth, quite nice neck leading to strong sturdy body, topline satisfactory on the move but occasionally too relaxed when standing. Have seen him move better than today. JB (0). PGB (4) 1 Miller’s Feorlig Take Me Or Leave Me, neat black bitch, beautiful head well placed on pleasing neck, neat compact front & level body of nice length, correct textured coat of adequate length, excellent movement & presentation, seriously considered for RCC; 2 Samuel’s Skyelander Midnight Sun, larger size silver, nice head, correct ear placement, good well shaped neck, sound level body, very nicely coated, good movement; 3 White’s Knowlespring You’re Nicked by Gumshoe. LB (2,1) 1 Marshall’s Glorfindel Betty Boop, nice mixed grey coat, excellent neat head & neck, lots of furnishings. Would like slightly better ear set. Neat level & low body, long coat, good movement & well presented. OB (4) 1 Bryden’s Ch Acheo Bidey In, excellent outline for this black bitch, nice head, sound mouth. Teeth indicating her age. Good pleasing body & excellent well prepared coat, well handled showing very good movement. Lost out for BOB to DCC who had superior outline on final presentation & on movement; 2 Miller’s Ch Feorlig Something Wicked, neat dark silver, pleasing Skye outline, very nice head & sound mouth, body well proportioned & level, excellent prepared coat in fine condition, always had excellent movement & has now developed into a worthy ch with of course her kennelmate today in PGB waiting in the wings; 3 Breeze’s Salena Secret Passion.
