SKYE MANCHESTER 25 Judge: Miss S Richardson SKYE JUDGE MANCHESTER 25 It is an honour and a privilege to be able to award CC’s in a breed you have owned, bred and shown. Skyes have been a huge part of my life for over 40 years and I have been fortunate to have lived with some lovely examples of the breed. My thanks to the exhibitors for entering their dogs for my consideration. I was pleased with the quality of my entry and some classes gave me pause for thought choosing between quality exhibits. My grateful thanks to the society for their kind invitation and generous hospitality throughout the day. My Best of Breed was the female Shuttleworth & Whincup’s Wondersky Wish You Were Here at Whicheeta (IMP USA) This bitch brought a tear to my eye when I went over her. She reminded me so much of my last Skye Talyot Nyree who was always overshadowed in the ring by her more flashy blonde sisters. I thought this young lady, a beautifully made bitch who is very deserving of her crown. Junior Dog (1,0) 1st Simpson’s Tiny Winne Argon Targaryon (Swed Imp) - 15 month cream with black points. Masculine head with good ear placement and pigment. Shown in excellent coat for age. Moved well. Open Dog (4,0) 1st Heath’s Ch Lavaux’s Bahamian Chris – 5 year old silver. I liked this dog very much for type, shape, size and balance. I have previously awarded his father top honours and he reminded me very much of him today. Shown in fabulous full coat. He has a lovely masculine head with typical expression and erect ears fully feathered. He moved effortlessly round the ring, maintaining his topline on the move. Dog CC. 2nd Shuttleworth’s Whicheeta Walk the Walk. This 5 year old dark silver male I thought was lovely too. I liked his shape, size and proportions. He was immaculately presented and shown in full coat. Unfortunate to come up against 1st today. 3rd Lyne’s Madaza Box of Frogs Veteran Dog (1,0) 1st Kendrick’s Ch Frisco Kiaro at Jeraro (Cze Imp). 8 ½ year old dark silver male I have judged before. He has a lovely masculine head piece with fully furnished erect ears. I like his front and rear and he maintains his topline on the move. Shown in excellent condition, he was just pipped at the post by his son for the CC today, but nonetheless a very worthy Res CC winner and Best Veteran. Special Beginners Dog (1,0) 1st Simpson’s Tiny Winne Argon Targaryon (Swed Imp) – see Junior dog. Puppy Bitch (2,1) 1stHarris’ Nahearadh Sky Full of Stars. 7 month cream with black points. Pretty, feminine head, good bite, nice erect black ears. Topline good, shown in hard condition. Very steady for one so young. BP. Post Graduate Bitch – (6,0) 1st Shuttleworth & Whincup’s Wondersky Wish You Were Here at Whicheeta (IMP USA). – 2 and a half year old dark silver female. Loved this young lady’s head proportions, expression and fringed round ears. Good in front and rear and level topline. Loved her for size, balance and type. Beautifully presented. She was a little reticient on the move in her class but in the challenge she was for me, everything I wanted today. Delighted to award her the CC and BOB. 2nd Roberts’ Kilfinian Seren Gail at Sunabil- 5 year old dark silver female. Similar remarks apply. Lovely feminine head, with well furnished ears. Liked her front, rear and topline. Open Bitch (4,1) 1st Grainger’s Black Cullins Catriona JW (Imp Deu)- 3 year old pale silver female. Beautiful feminine head and expression with well fringed ears. Liked her front and rear. Correct topline. Presented in first class order, in full coat. Moved well. RBCC 2nd Heath’s Skyeshire Rosie- 4 year old cream with black points. Feminine head, good bite and topline. Just preferred 1st overall. Sarah Richardson
