SKYE LEEDS 22 Judge: Mr David Shields PD (1) 1 McClean’s Rhoderns Hamish. Lovely youngster who shows much promise. Excellent strength and substance for his age. Loved his head, good length and a strong muzzle, well set ears and a pleasing eye. Best of hindquarters and a good tailset and carriage. Very sound on the move. Still needs to come together but definitely one for the future. 1 De Leie’s Verumamicus Cicero. Pleasing sort who presented a typical outlook. Balanced head, good eye and the best of expressions, Excellent depth of chest, firm body and nicely angulated quarters of good width. Moved well both fore and aft but could have been a little more positive on the day. 1 Turner’s Knowlespring Quincy. Dog of good size and proportions and well balanced throughout. Pleasing head, dark eye and alert expression. Very clean over the neck and shoulders and good depth of body. Held his topline on the move and covered the ground on a free and easy stride. 1 Heath’s Lavaux’s Bahamian Chris. One I liked a lot and was knocking on the door for top honours on the day. Well balanced dog with the required long and low appearance as the standard asks for. Typical in head, good eye and expression and well set ears. Firm body and the best of hindquarters. Soundest of movers. 2 Volkova’s Gold Monarch for Verumamicus. Slightly different stamp and style to the winner but still presented a pleasing picture both stood and on the move. Best of heads, good strength of jaw and a dark expressive eye. Moved well. Not the body of the winner. Class headed by two quality dogs. 1 Ryan’s Ch.Flanagan Energizer at Feorlig ( Imp Svk ) Judged him as a puppy and liked him then and was pleased to be able to judge him again as the finished article. So well balanced throughout and presents a clean and balanced outline both stacked and on the move. Excellent head, eye and expression. Good strength of body and firm well made quarters. Sound on the move both fore and aft and presented on the day in the best of coats, CC & BOB. 2 Pringle’s Ch.Esgia The Exciseman ShCex. Another very typical Skye with a quality outlook who pushed the winner all the way on the day. Good size, excellent strength and substance throughout. Balanced head, strong muzzle and a lovely eye and expression. Stands on good legs and feet, lovely depth of chest and powerful hindquarters. Moved on the best of strides, effortless as the standard asks for, Res.CC. 1 McLeod’s Juger Edelweiss Me Myself and I at Esgia (Imp Est ) Another I have done well before and still hold in high regard. See he is the sire of my Res.CC winner dog as well as the bitch CC winner and has passed on his many virtues to his offspring. Well made throughout with lovely bone and substance. Best of heads with the required strength. Good length of body and a firm topline that he holds on the move, BV. 1 Curtis’s Brakemill Midsummer Dream. Quality puppy who I am sure will have a very promising future if she continues to develop on these lines. Pleasing make and shape for her age. Balanced head with a very typical outlook. Well made front assembly with good depth of chest. Nicely rounded quarters with a pleasing taiset and carriage. Sound and more together on the move on the day than the dog pup which tipped the balance between these two promising puppies for BP. 1 Ryan’s Classic Touch of Morningsky with Feorlig ( Imp Deu ) Quality young lady with attitude and there is nothing I would change at this stage of her development. Excellent make and shape, long and low and has the required strength throughout to complete the picture. Best of heads, pleasing front assembly, strong bone and a firm level topline that she holds on the move. Such a sound positive mover. Sure it won’t be long before she is pressing for top honours. Typical in head, good strength of muzzle, lovely eye and expression and well set ears. Stands on good legs and feet, excellent body, pleasing rib and very well angulated hindquarters. Clean over the neck and shoulders, good depth throughout and well angulated quarters. Very unsettled on the move but what you saw was sound fore and aft. 1 Pringle’s Ch.esgia First and Fairest. Top class and one I have judged before awarding her the Res.CC and today she thoroughly deserved top honours. Presents such a typical outlook with lovely bone and substance throughout. Good head, well balanced and a lovely dark expressive eye. Good length of body, short strong loin and well bent stifles. In the best of coats and presented to perfection on the day.
