SKYE LKA 11 Judge: Mrs M Barrass SKYE JUDGE LKA 11 Skye Terriers It is always a privilege to judge the last championship show of the year & to see so many of the dogs go around the ring wagging their tails enjoying the moment, it was uplifting. The presentation on most of the exhibits was first class. One thing I liked was being able to tell the dogs from the bitches by the masculine heads of the males to the feminine ones of the bitches, as they should be. PD (2) 1 Bigland’s Lavaux Spirit Of The Vine, loved the masculine head of this dog, strong jaw, well filled below darkest eyes, good clean scissor bite, well fringed ears, good slope of neck falling into laid back shoulders, balanced front & rear angulations, good depth in chest, balanced rib to loin, presented in good coat, moved out around the ring with confidence wagging his tail. BP. JD (1) 1 White’s Talyot Menelaus at Gumshoe, this dog was so happy enjoying his turn in the ring, moved out with confidence, well balanced head with good ear set, strong scissor bite, dark eyes, good slope of neck, correct front & rear angulations, good rib to loin ratio, well muscled giving drive from the rear, presented in good harsh coat, one to watch for the future. PGD (2) 1 Marshall’s Glorfindel Black Mage, have admired him from seeing him as a puppy, presented in excellent black coat, masculine head with strong jaw, darkest of eyes, strong scissor bite, correct ear set with good fringing, good slope of neck falling into laid back shoulders, good rib to loin ratio, well angulated front & rear, well muscled giving drive, moved out around the ring. RCC; 2 Burscough’s Glorfindel Secret Shadow at Kilfinan, a dog who carries most of the good qualities of 1 in class, he moved around the ring with confidence, strong masculine head with good ear set, dark eyes, strong scissor bite, good slope of neck, well laid back shoulders, good front & muscular rear, balanced rib to loin, presented in good strong coat. LD (5) Three dogs in this class could & will change places in the future. 1 Heep’s Azrakhan Mr Buttons, a masculine dog who has a strong head with strong clean scissor bite, good angulations, balanced rib to loin, a balanced dog who moved well around the ring but would prefer more attention to the grooming of his undercoat which could improve the picture; 2 Richardson’s Talyot Learchus, this dog was well presented in good coat, good masculine head with dark eyes, strong ear set well fringed, good slope of neck, well laid back shoulders, good front & drove from the rear, just felt 1 was more balanced but believe he will come on; 3 Shuttleworth’s Whicheeta Celtic Keepsake. OD (1) 1 Harrison’s Ch Papplewick Knockando for Trenson, so pleased to get my hands on this dog at last, I have watch him mature since I last judged him when he was a very raw puppy, he looked the part, moving around the ring with such confidence, well balanced head with correct earset, strength in jaw under dark eyes, strong clean scissor bite, lovely length of neck falling into well laid back shoulders, good depth of chest, balanced angulations to front & rear, good ratio of rib to loin, well muscled in rear giving drive, presented in wonderful condition with flowing coat, glad to see he was in the group judges selection. CC & BOB. VD (1) 1 Lynch’s Kenmilltri Fraxinus, veteran dog who seems to believe he is a puppy as he circles the ring, good masculine head with dark eyes, scissor bite, balanced rib to loin, well muscled with good angulations, presented well. GCD (1) 1 White’s Talyot Menelaus at Gumshoe. PB (2) 1 Woodhead’s Knowlespring Mistletoe, pretty young feminine bitch, very eyecatching, balanced head with dark eyes, scissor bite, good front & depth of chest, one I will watch for the future when she settles down, well presented in good coat. JB (0) PGB (3) 1 King’s Celticbridge Spring Magic, feminine bitch with good earset, strong scissor bite, dark eyes, nice slope of neck, laid back shoulders, balanced rib to loin, presented in good coat, just needs to settle a little going around the ring; 2 Bell’s Glorfindel Spring Secret, feminine bitch with dark eyes, scissor bite, nice slope of neck, good rib to loin ratio, seem to enjoy her day wagging her tail all the way around the ring. LB (4) 1 Shuttleworth’s Whicheeta Celtic Cruisader, liked this young bitch when I judged her as a puppy, she is developing well with lots of promise, good feminine head with correct ear set, dark eyes, scissor bite, sloping neck falling into well laid back shoulders, good angulations front & rear, presented in good coat, moved with drive from muscular rear. RCC; 2 Bailey & Hansel’s Celticbridge My Lady by Marjayn, feminine bitch who was presented in good coat, good ear set, strong scissor bite, good rib to loin ratio, angulations to front & rear correct, moved well but dropped her topline standing; 3 King’s Celticbridge Stormy Waters. OB (4) 1 McLeod’s Ch Esgias Sula The Late Edition, it was pleasing to judge this feminine bitch again as she has toned up & was going around the ring demanding her place, lovely head with strong earset, dark eyes, clean scissor bite, sloping neck falling into well laid back shoulders, good front & muscular rear, balanced rib to loin, presented in flowing coat, how could I refuse her. CC; 2 Samuel’s Skyelander Midnight Dream, balanced feminine bitch just slightly bigger, carried herself around the ring in great coat, moving with drive, good earset, good clean scissor bite, good front & rear, nice slope of neck falling into well laid back shoulders, balanced rib to loin ratio. VB (0). GCB (2) 1 King’s Celticbridge Stormy Waters; 2 Bell’s Glorfindel Spring Secret. MOIRA BARRASS |
