SKYE JUDGE CRUFTS 25

My sincere thanks to the RKC and Crufts for the invitation to judge Skye Terriers at Crufts. This is a breed that I have had a long association with through my great friend and mentor, Sue McCourt. Unfortunately, Sue was unable to be at the show due to ill health, I missed her greatly. Thank you to all the exhibitors for showing their dogs under me. They were all in good condition and temperaments were good.

VD (2)

1 Ch Frisco Kiaora at Jeraro (Imp Cze) VW (Kendrick) A quality dog to start. He was in excellent coat and condition. Correct size, good neck and shoulders. Level topline both standing and moving. In good muscle, he moved well and was in contention in the challenge.

2 Bhatairnis Fasach (Mason). He has a strong head and mozzle, well boned legs and feet, and in good muscle. His topline was a bit soft. Moved steadily, his tail was carried a bit too high.

PD (1)

1 Partisky Espionage at Challeymead (Woolley). Good head, ears and expression. Strong muzzle. Clean through the neck and shoulders. He showed well for a puppy. In good muscle. Obviously needs time to body up but he has plenty of time. Moved OK both ways.

JD (2)

1 Tiny Winne Argon Targaryen (Imp Swe) (Simpson) This male has a good head and strong muzzle. In very good coat condition. Well boned legs and feet. He moved out well. Needs to body up and his topline can improve.

2 Verumamicus Drusus (Taylor). Very raw at this stage, needs time to fill out. OK in head. He held his topline on the move and was sound. I would prefer more bone.

PGD (3)

1 Flanagan The Troublemaker at Feorlig (Imp Svk) (Ryan). A quality drop ear with a strong head and muzzle. He was in good coat condition and held his topline on the move. Level topline, good neck and shoulder placement. Well-muscled quarters. A pleasing dog to go over, he just needs time to body up.

2 Rhoderns Arbika of Trelawneki (Heale & Davies) Not as positive on the move as my winner. Long and level. He has a smart outline and presented in good condition. Another that needs time to body up.

3 Tiny Winne Argon Targaryen (Imp Swe) (Simpson)

OD (12,2)

1 Finnsky Flash (Kitti) A quality dog with a striking outline, who made the most of himself. Good head ad expression. Excellent in neck and shoulders. Firm topline both standing and held on the move. He was in excellent coat and condition, with well-muscled quarters. He moved very well and with a lovely temperament. Delighted to award him the DCC.

2 Ch Flanagan Energizer at Feorlig (Imp Svk) (Ryan). A top-quality dog who I have previously awarded top honours to. He has a typical appealing head and expression, good neck and shoulders and well off for bone. He was well muscled and in excellent coat condition. He moved soundly but lacked the verve of the winner. Res CC.

PB (1)

1 Nahearadh Sky Full of Stars (Harris) Pleasing head, ears and expression. She has a dark eye and is well off for bone. Desired level topline and well-muscled, Needs time to develop in body and when she settled she moved very well. Best Puppy.
