SKYE CRUFTS 22 Skye Terrier - Judge: Mr D Ericsson Many thanks for a splendid entry of Skye Terriers which I greatly enjoyed judging. Quality was excellent throughout and, as one would expect, particularly high in the top classes. Overall proportions were impressive, head shape varied more than I would have liked as did ear placement, also temperament could have been more positive in a few of the participating dogs. I was surprised to see afterwards that a large percentage of the dogs exhibited here were in fact imports. The sporting manner in which my placings were received was very much appreciated. 1 Kitti, Zaphiris & Sainio’s Multi Ch Cragsmoor Goodfellow. 10 yrs old, all quality dog looking wonderful for his age, clean outline, beautiful neck and shoulders, very good body, ok in front, sound rear, good head and ears, easy fluid mover. Best Veteran. 2 Bamford’s Whicheeta One For The Road. Another good dog but somewhat shorter in neck and a little stronger in build all through, very good body, beautiful coat and fringing, masculine head, moved ok for age. 1 De Leie’s Verumamicus Cicero. This very promising puppy arrived late and took a little time to settle but once he had done so behaved very well and impressed me with his overall make and shape, very good body, excellent bone, sound quarters, front needs to tighten and topline settle, masculine rather strong head, very good coat and temperament. 2 Albert & Moore’s Larelkie Amazing Legend. Very well presented dark grey dog, finer in build than the winner and not as masculine, ok front, light in bone, good topline, needs to gain confidence. 1 Baker’s Kometa Rossi Madrid At Silverbriar NAF (Imp Deu). Blond dog built on clean lines, very good neck and shoulders, excellent body and topline, sound rear, front not his fortune and eyes could be darker, very good coat in excellent condition, moved and showed well. 2 Moore’s Gacrux For Larelkie Bohemia Coco. Very outgoing young dog with delightful temperament, light in bone and body and he needs much more substance also for his age, typical head, good coat, very well presented, front did not please. 3 De Leie’s Verumamicus Cicero. 1 Heath’s Lavauxs Bahamian Chris. Attractive grey dog in full bloom and an easy winner in this class, very good body, pleasing neck and shoulders, adequate bone, sound rear, very good coat. Perfect size and I liked his overall balance very much. 2 Nolan’s Kometa Rossi Inmar (Imp Dea). Blond masculine dog, wonderful texture of coat, very good body, rather tense on the table making assessment difficult, looked a lot better on the floor when he was more relaxed, lots to like about this dog and will no doubt improve with confidence. 3 Shuttleworth’s Whicheeta Walk The Walk. 1 Volkova’s Gold Monarh Elrond For Verumamicus (Imp Rus). Beautiful long low and level dog presented to advantage, very impressive neck and shoulders, good head and ears, sound front and rear, moved effortlessly, good coat, liked him a lot and a serious contender in the challenge. 2 Sanderson’s Esgia Highland Laddie. Also very attractive and correct to go over reflected in sound movement, very good body, excellent head, ears and expression, not the coat of the winner and rather tense on the table, expertly handled. 3 Shuttleworth’s Whicheeta Total Eclipse. Lovely class which literally gave me goose bumps as they entered the ring Thanks you for the pleasure of judging such a wonderful collection of top class dogs ultimately headed by 1, Bláhová’s Flanagan Limited Edition. Wow! What can one say except that this dog ticked all the boxes for me. Wonderful outline, sound front and rear, lovely head, beautiful coat in pristine condition, easy fluid mover covering the ground with great freedom, perfect size. Loved him. CC & BOB, overjoyed to see him win fourth in the very competitive group later in the evening. 2 Toft Bergstrøm’s Skyewalker’s Razzle Dazzle. Another truly beautiful Skye Terrier whose overall balance and quality dazzled me, beautiful masculine head, very sound front and rear, excellent topline, good neck and shoulders, deep well made body, presented to perfection showing well, pressed the ultimate winner hard. Res CC. 3 Miller & Ryan’s Ch Flanagan Energizer At Feorlig (Imp Svk). 1 Toft Bergstrøm’s Multi Ch Skyewalker’s No Excuse. 9 yrs old blond bitch enjoying her day out, very good for size, excellent body, free mover, sound rear, rather light in bone and she could have done with me more length of neck for balance, delightful temperament. 1 Miller & Ryan’s Classic Touch Of Morningsky With Feorlig (Imp Deu). Very well constructed puppy built on classic lines being long, low and level, sound front, very impressive neck and shoulders, good topline, ok in body for age, sound rear, typical head, good coat for age, handled masterfully to display her good movement, must have a good future. Best Puppy. 2 Whincup’s Gleanntan Look At Me At Partisky NAF (Imp USA). Another very feminine puppy with good body and outline, a little light in bone and, rather fine in head and one ear needs to settle, fair front, good rear, very happy temperament, easy willing mover. 3 Volkova’s Verumamicus Calypso. 1 Roberts’ Tarskavaig Speed Bonny Boat To Gallondean. Impressive 14 mths old bitch, beautiful outline, good neck, body and rear, front not her fortune, good bone, typical head, good coat, moved well and won this class with a bit in hand. 2 Bimbi’s Monidgi Valensiya J Slo Ch/ J Aus Ch/ J Interra Ch. Blond feminine bitch, sturdy body with excellent spring of rib, typical head, would have liked her sounder behind and more coordinated on the move, good texture of coat. 1 McLean & Weir’s Knowlespring Miss Marple. Blond quality bitch of correct type and size, very soundly constructed throughout with exemplary front, good body and hindquarters, feminine head, good ears, excellent coat, could have been a little more focused in the ring but did enough to win this class nevertheless, a very good bitch indeed who could trouble the best. 2 Heath’s Skyeshire Rosie. Very similar in overall make and shape to the ultimate winner in this class and many of the same comments apply, just a little finer in bone and body, good coat, excellent outline, good mover, ears rather pale in colour. 3 Bancroft’s Kometa Rossi Julejka NAF. 1 McLean & Weir’s Kometa Present Iz Psov Grada. Strongly made bitch who pleased me very much on the table being soundly made with good front, legs and feet, excellent body, topline and very good hindquarters, attractive head, good ears, perfect mouth, good coat, excellent mover, rather proud of her tail on the move, but overall a very good bitch and a comfortable winner of this class. 2 Roberts’ Sunabil Tywysoges O Libanus (ai). Smaller, more feminine bitch and subsequently a little finer in build throughout, good topline, excellent coat and condition, would have liked a stronger foreface and more freedom of movement. Lovely class and a great pleasure to judge. 1 Curtis’ Ch Verumamicus Aurora Of Brakemill JW. Top quality bitch dripping in beautiful coat and fringes, very correct to go over, sound front and rear, excellent body with long well made ribcage, strong loin and rear, muscular hindquarters used to advantage to propel herself round the ring with good drive, looked a picture standing enhanced by top-class presentation. Could not be denied the top spot and won the bitch CC. 2 Birgisdottir’s N/Dk/Czech Uch Skorradals Ever On Amble Njv-20 Ww-21. Ultrafeminine drop-eared bitch who pressed the winner hard, very good front, excellent body, strong topline, good hindquarters, beautiful coat and condition, very difficult to fault, just unlucky to meet the winner here today. Res CC, beating some lovely bitches. 3 Duncan’s Verumamicus Ambrosia Of Kyloran. 1 Roberts’ Glorfindel Effort At Sunabil. Blond glamour girl, sound front, good body and coat, ok in head, ears set rather wide, moved well and was presented to advantage.
