SKYE JUDGE CRUFTS 09

Thanks to everyone that entered, a very pleasing entry, especially as several exhibitors were ineligible to show under me due to either travelling to shows with me or my handling their dogs at shows. I thoroughly enjoyed my day.
I would also like to thank my ring steward who valiantly coped on his own almost to the end of judging when there should have been two!
The dogs were wonderful & certainly ‘fit for function, fit for life’.

VD (3)

1 Garland-Collins’ Ch Bhuidh Steamy Windows, a dark silver dog of 10 years of age, certainly proving there is no age limit to a Skye’s show career, good head, neck & shoulders, good topline, lovely overall picture, still moving with drive, showing the youngsters how it’s done;

2 White’s Glorfindel Who’s Who, another 10 year old not showing his age, dark silver, well proportioned, in good coat;

3 John’s Ch Perrylands Discovery for Perluche.

PD (1)

1 King’s Celticbridge Northwind, cream baby, just 12 months of age, good head & nice dark eye, well proportioned, coat coming through nicely. Needs to settle on the move. Shows promise.

JD (1)

1 Neilson’s Kenocto Black Magic, silver dog. Not a lot of coat at the moment but constructed well, good front & shoulders. PGD (8) 1 Parker’s Glorfindel Basil Brush, impressive dog with a head that cannot be ignored, lovely expressive eyes, well placed shoulders & level topline, well muscled hindquarters that allow him to move with drive, lovely pale silver, in good coat;

2 Harrisons’s Knowlespring Jailhouse Roc for Trensom, cream dog, equally well made as 1, only a few days separate 1 & 2 in age. Not quite as finished as 1;

3 Lynch’s Kenmilltri Fraxinus.

LD (4)

1 Barrass’ Gallondean Moonlite Shadow, I was pleasantly surprised when I went over this dog, dark silver, in good coat, good head, shoulders & front, good length of rib to loin, sound hindquarters. Likes to carry his tail high;

2 Pringle’s Tsuki Outlaw Star, lovely outline, well balanced, moves freely, just lacks the coat to finish the picture;

3 King’s Celticbridge Moonshine.

OD (8,1a)

1 Marshall’s Ch The Black Touch of Morningsky, I first saw this dog when he was 18 months old & loved him then, he did not disappoint today, he is soundly constructed from head to toe, well balanced & in beautiful coat & condition, moved freely & showed himself off to advantage. I was pleased to award him CC & BOB. He looked lovely when I later saw him in the group, still showing well;

2 Granlund & Dahblom’s Int Ch Olivia Spirit Of American Idol, lovely black dog, masculine head, good dark eye, soundly constructed, moved with drive. A little taller than 1. RCC;

3 Cuthbert & Mathews’ Glorfindel Grey Granite. GCD (0).

VB (3,1)

1 MacQueen’s Ch Acheo Achiltibuie, 8 years old, dark silver, nicely made, very feminine, still moving well;

2 Grainger’s Ch Perrylands Savanna, pale silver, nearly 9 years of age, similar to 1 in make up but did not move with same drive.

PB (1)

1 Nolan’s Glorfindel Dubhdara. just 12 months old but so full of character. Not much coat yet but the conformation is there. Sound puppy with a lot of promise. BP.

JB (1)

1 Granland & Kare’s Finnsky Krystal, very feminine black, lovely outline, long neck into well placed shoulders, good coat, moved well.

PGB (8,2)

1 Miller’s Feorlig Take Me Or Leave Me, black, good reach of neck, soundly constructed all round, very pleasing outline, moved freely; 2 Garland- Collins’ Bhuidh Motholeli, quality bitch, silver in colour, moved well;

3 Viles’ Juniper Girl.

LB (8,2)

1 Robson’s Lynaire She’s No Lady with Mitsui, black, a lovely head & neck, good length of rib, level topline, soundly constructed, flowed around the ring;

2 Marshall’s Glorfindel Betty Boop, quality silver bitch, lovely to look at & does not disappoint when gone over, low & level;

3 Granlund & Kare’s Finnsky Krystal.

OB (7)

1 Nolan’s Ir Ch Glorfindel Roisin Dubh, very feminine silver, lovely outline, well balanced, soundly constructed & in good coat, moved out well. CC;

2 Miller’s Ch Feorlig Something Wicked, another quality bitch I have always admired, very sound, moved well. RCC;

3 Knut’s Int Ch Juger Edelweiss Whisky Fab.
