Skye Terriers

What a well run pleasant show this always is. I enjoyed my day tremendously & was pleased to find some very nice dogs to go over. The breed may be suffering in numbers, but I am pleased to say the quality is still there. My CC winners are litter brother & sister, owned by the breeder & I was very pleased to hear they have both gained their title today. I was delighted to see the dog make G2.

JD (2)

1 Woodhead’s Skyeomania’s Mozart mit Knowlespring, very handsome showy dog in tremendous coat, moved well;

2 McLeod’s Esgia Murray’s Olympic Gold, has a lot of promise, not quite as mature as 1, ear placement could be better.

PGD (1)

1 White’s Gumshoe Moses Jones, promising, ear placement could be better. Good coat well presented. Needed a bit more drive on the move.

LD (4)

1 Smith’s Sh Ch Lam-bais Mad Max at Marrcrieff, I have admired this dog from afar & was definitely not disappointed on going over him. He is strong, well put together, a classic head & ear carriage. I can’t understand why he has not done more winning. His owner needs to take care not to over handle he is a natural beauty. RCC;

2 Robson’s Knowlespring Daredevil Dan with Mitsui, well boned, smart & full of life, pushed for 1 but did not drive quite so well as 1;

3 Marshall’s Emoticon Kiaora Glorfindel.

OB (7,2a)

1 Curtis’ Brakemill Barnum, this is a lovely specimen of the breed. He is low & level with no exaggeration, his coat quality & colour are excellent. He has a beautiful head & is well constructed throughout. He moved well with drive & purpose. I was delighted to award him the CC & BOB & learn later he made G2;

2 White’s Talyot Menelaus at Gumshoe, well made dog in good proportion, good coat & moved well for his handler, he just lacks the quality of 1; 3 Miller’s Feorlid Arfur Sixpence.

VD (2,1)

1 Ankcorn’s Feorlig True Destiny of Pensford, strong cream dog, well put together & moving very soundly. Enjoying his day out.

JB (3,1)

1 McLeod’s Esgia Andi’s Wimbledon Dream, well put together low & level, maturing nicely, could be one for the future;

2 Miller & Ryan’s Feorlig Romantica, close run & quite difficult to split 1 & 2. Another promising young lady with a future I am sure.

PGB (3)

1 Smith’s Marrcrief Glen Glamis, this lady has had a fright previously in the ring which has made he a little shy on the table. I hope the owner can sort this out as she is a very nice well made bitch with good proportions & moves well. Could have a future;

2 White’s Gumshoe Silent Witness, nice type, has all the necessary, she didn’t move as well as 1;

3 Neilson’s Auchenbathie Cream Delight.

LB (4,1)

1 Marshall’s Glorfindel Sugar Puff, long & level, good shape & moved well. Coat texture could be better;

2 Barrass’ Lavaux Spirit Of The Isle of Gallondean, big black & beautiful, she has all the attributes & moves well, just a little on the big side for me;

3 Neilson’s Auchenbathie Cream Delight.

OB (4,1)

1 Curtis’ Brakemill Briar Rose, what a treat, the epitome of a Skye Terrier bitch. She is a delight to go over, her coat texture & colour is all correct, she is well constructed & moves with drive. I was delighted to award her the CC. Lucky owner to have two such beautiful dogs;

2 Woodhead’s Ch Knowlespring Mistletoe, a favourite of mine, she is a well made strong bitch, feminine & well defined. She moved well, although I have seen her make more of herself in the past. She was denied the top spot today but I was happy to award her RCC;

3 Shuttleworth’s Whicheeta Celtic Crusader.

VB (3,1)

1 McQueen’s Ch Azrakhan Capercaillie, a grand lady & an old favourite. Still in tremendous condition & coat, moving well & enjoying her day, it was lovely to see her. She had to give way to youth today;

2 Shuttleworth’s Perrylands Stroller, another lady enjoying her day out, nice type but doesn’t have the quality of 1.
