SKYE BORDER UNION 11 Judge(s) MRS FRANCES CARLTON DCC GUMSHOE BUGSY MALONE OF BRAKEMILL SHCM (MRS J A CURTIS) Skye Terriers PD (0). JD (1) 1 Marshall’s Glorfindel Black Mage, heavily coated young black dog, really liked his overall size & shape, appeared masculine without any coarseness, good head & eye with well set ears, good length of neck set into well placed shoulders, level topline, strong hindquarters, moved steadily with drive. RCC. ND (0). PGD (4) 1 Grozier’s Auchenbathie Jig Along at Zorgs, immature silver dog with masculine head, good length of body, level topline, moved soundly; 2 Pringle’s Tsuki Outlaw Star, dark silver, good head & eye, well made body, moved soundly. Overall I would prefer him to be a shade bigger all over for a dog; 3 Robson’s Knowlespring Daredevil Dan with Mitsui. LD (5) 1 Miller’s Feorlig Arfur Sixpence, mature black dog, long in body with level topline, although would have preferred a slightly longer length of rib. Sound in front with well placed shoulders, moved out confidently; 2 Ankcorn’s Feorlig True Destiny of Pensford, cream with excellent dark points, strong masculine head, well placed neck & shoulders, steady on the move; 3 Granlund’s Buckwheaters Cereal Killer. OD (4) 1 Curtis’ Gumshoe Bugsy Malone of Brakemill, good sized mature black dog, strong head with well set ears, lovely reach of neck into well placed shoulders, sound in front assembly, good length of body, level topline kept on the move, strong hindquarters, nicely animated in his movement. Overall a pleasing example of a mature Skye male. CC, his third; 2 Breeze’s Ch Salena Black Shadow, well known black dog, beautifully presented & shown to advantage, well finished head with correctly set ears, good reach of neck set into well placed shoulders, level topline, moved out steadily. Preferred the overall masculinity of 1; 3 Samuel’s Ch Skyelander Wee Man of Storr. PB, JB & NB (0). PGB (5) 1 Smith’s Glorfindel Messalina at Marrcrieff, dark silver who appeared up to size although was in proportion. Feminine head, decent neck & shoulders, held her topline on the move; 2 Proud’s Knowlespring Dream To Walk to Dolphaz, smaller silver bitch with dark points, good overall shape. A bit short of coat; 3 Neilson’s Auchenbathie Cream Delight. LB (5) 1 Marshall’s Glorfindel Lucretia, lovely bitch, excellent head, well set ears used to advantage, well placed neck & shoulders, good length of rib, level topline & low to the ground, moved steadily; 2 Samuel’s Skyelander Midnight Dream, silver, heavier type to 1. Good overall shape, strong in head, moved out well; 3 Shuttleworth’s Whicheeeta Celtic Keepsake. OB (3) 1 McLeod’s Esgia’s Sula The Late Edition, beautiful feminine bitch, lovely type, nice size for a bitch, well furnished feminine head with correctly set ears, lovely length of neck, well placed shoulders & correctly shaped front, long, low & level with good length of rib, in lovely coat & condition, animated on the move. CC, her second, hope the 3rd isn’t too far away. For BOB I felt the bitch’s overall type & animation gave her the edge over the DCC winner; 2 MacQueen’s Ch Azrakhan Capercaillie, well presented black, strong head, good length of neck, long & level body. Not giving her best although did just enough to warrant the RCC; 3 Robson’s Lynaire She’s No Lady with Mitsui. FRANCES CARLTO |
