SKYE JUDGE BLACKPOOL 14

Skye Terriers

Only 22 dogs entered & 3 absent so 19 dogs present. The top winners were outstanding. Presentation was good all round. Fronts were a problem but ‘twas ever thus!

PD (2,1a)

1 Grainger’s Perrylands Monro, pleasing puppy which had a good topline for his age. Good in eye. Correct bone & good in neck. Tail well carried & very good in hindquarters with plenty of muscle. BPD & BP.

JD (2)

1 McLeod’s Esgia Murray’s Olympic Gold, not so dramatic as 2 in head furnishings but he had a good head & a strong muzzle. Very good in neck & correct tail carriage. He was OK in front & was better behaved than 2;

2 Woodhead’s Skyeomania’s Mozart Mit Knowlespring, very good head & ear furnishings. Good neck but body coat not at its best today. Plenty of bone & moved well behind.

LD (2)

1 Marshall’s Emoticon Kiaora Glorfindel, a dog with a pleasing head, skull & muzzle of the correct proportions & strength, good length & shape of neck, with gave him a very good outline overall. He kept this well on the move around the ring;

2 Parker’s Glorfindel Deacon Brodie, another dog with a very good head & OK in front. Good neck & excellent head furnishings. Good bone & enough length. Not small & tail could be better.

OD (5,1)

A good class.

1 Breeze’s Ch Salena The Special One, a quality dog with a very good head & skull & the correct strength of muzzle. Good for length & correct neck & topline which he holds very well in the move & carries tail well also. Scored over 2 in front & moved out with style. Coat not dramatic in appearance from the distance but when you get your hands on it very typical for texture & length. Went on to win CC & BOB & then later in the day Reserve in the Terrier Group;

2 Curtis’ Brakemill Barnum, another quality dog well presented with good head & ear furnishings & a good head. Also has a great neck & typical topline. Correct length & moved well behind but not quite so good in front as 1. Very good for bone & pleasing in coat & condition. RCC;

3 Richardson’s Talyot Learchus.

PB (3)

1 Richardson’s Talyot Ophelia, a promising youngster with a good head & pleasing ear fringes for age. Moved well & held tail correctly. Topline will settle. She strode out well & had enough length. BPB;

2 Hasker’s Perrylands Toffee, better for her age for size than 3, & was good in head, neck & topline. She was good in bone for her age & went well behind. Good in neck, coat needs time but then she is only just over 6 months;

3 Shuttleworth’s Perrylands Cassidy at Whicheeta.

JB (1)

1 McLeod’s Esgia Andi’s Wimbledon Dream, good head but needs time to finish in furnishings over the eye to complete the picture. Good strong bone & correct feet. Tail well carried.

PGB (2)

1 Grainger’s Perrylands Georgia, not the length of 2 but much more ‘collected’ & better for size than her. She held her shape well on the move. Good in coat texture & quality & good in front. Well muscled;

2 Richardson’s Talyot Nynniaw, very good for length & excellent neck with good fringes. Just a bit ‘skittish’ on the move. Moved better behind than in front where she failed to 1.

LB (1)

1 Marshall’s Glorfindel Sugar Puf, very well put together with good head & typical expression. Very good furnishings. Excellent neck but could be just a shade longer in body. Very good in hindquarters. Could be better in front. Good bone.

OB (4,1)

1 Woodhead’s Ch Knowlespring Mistletoe, very good head & expression with correct shape of skull & good strength of muzzle. She presented a very typical neck & topline which she held well on the move. Excellent coat length & texture. OK for size compared to some others. CC;

2 Shuttleworth’s Whicheeta Celtic Cruisader, moved better here than 3. Good neck & correct bone. Very good in coat & OK in head & skull. Has a good deal of quality & went on to win the RCC;

3 Curtis’ Brakemill Briar Rose.
