SKYE BLACKPOOL 11 Judge(s) MRS F CHAPMAN-KING DCC CH SKYELANDER WEE MAN OF STORR (MS M J SAMUEL) SKYE TERRIER This was my first appointment in this breed and I thank the exhibitors for bringing their lovely dogs, and for good sportsmanship. It was a typically bright and breezy Blackpool, the latter played havoc with some coats, and perhaps a reluctance in some to use their ears. The grass was a touch long and prickly, and with a low to ground breed may have affected movement in some of the exhibits. PD (2,1) 1 White's Talyot Menelaus At Gumshoe. Masculine black with a typical outlook, being long and low to ground. Pleasing head proportions, long and strong and correct scissor bite. Has a very good forehand, well ribbed and shown in good coat and order. Moved out well. Promising. BP. JD (1) 1 Marshall's Glorfindel Black Mage. Black who is long enough, good ribbing and well muscled quarters. Skull a touch round, ear set a touch wide. Good mouth, strong muzzle and dark expressive eyes. Would like more layback of shoulder. Moved out well enough. PGD (1) 1 Robson's Knowlespring Daredevil Dan With Mitsui. Typical cream, with a long strongly made head and excellent expression. Pleasing forehand, is long and low, with well muscled quarters. Not overdone in coat, and is of excellent texture. Did not make the most of his good breed points, was reluctant both on the stack and on the move, throwing his ears back. Perhaps the conditions did not suit him. Would like to see him a touch more positive all round. Nonetheless, a contender in the challenge. LD (5,1) 1 Heeps' Azrakhan Mr Buttons. Typical in outlook, is long, fairly low and held his topline on the stack and on the move. Masculine strong long head, dark expressive eyes, not using his ears well which have profuse feather, and carriage perhaps a touch wide. Pleasing forehand, good ribbing and profuse harsh coat. A touch reluctant to handle. Moved out well. Put up a stronger performance in the challenge to win Res C.C. 2 Granlund's Buckwheaters Cereal Killer. Young cream with good ear carriage and good overall in head. Has a lovely flowing neckline, pleasing shoulder, rather short in rib and long in loin which showed in his at times 'lazy' topline. Of good length, and longer than the remaining 2 in this class. Coat a touch soft. Moved out well. 3 Harrison's Papplewick Knockando For Trenson SHCM, Res Shuttleworth's Whicheeta Celtic Keepsake OD (4,1) 1 Samuel's Ch Skyelander Wee Man Of Storr Typical dropear of excellent length, low to ground and held his topline, coping well with the ring conditions. Has a good strong head and muzzle, big nose and perfect scissor bite. Pleasing neckline, ribbing and quarters and moved out well all ways. Shown in good coat and order. His ears are not of perfect set perhaps, however his overall positive breed points carried him to win the C.C. 2 Curtis' Gumshoe Bugsy Malone Of Brakemill SHCM. Attractive masculine strong head with correct set and carriage of ears. Good neck, well laid shoulder, good ribbing and is long enough. Shown in good coat and order. Moved out well in this class. Preferred the length of 1. In the challenge, lost his topline and was less positive on the move than before, which cost him here. 3 Breeze's Ch Salena Black Shadow. Typical overall and of good size. A touch feminine in head quality in this entry, and did not hold his topline on the move. Excellent presentation. PB (1) 1 Green's Celticbridge Magical Charm. Delightful feminine cream with lovely head proportions and expression. Has a pleasing front and is of good length. Is very immature and inexperienced, and did the minimum necessary on the move to secure her place here. I think she shows promise and will watch her progress with interest. PGB (1) Proud's Knowlespring Dream Walk To Dolphaz. Typical feminine bitch with a pleasing head and eye. Good ribbing and length of back and shown in good harsh coat. Ear set a touch wide, and a touch upright in shoulder. Moved okay. LB (3) 1 Samuel's Skyelander Midnight Dream. Has a lovely head and eye, pleasing forehand, is long and low and held topline on the move. Shown in good coat and moved out well. Close up in the challenge. 2 White's Salena Special Effect At Gumshoe Feminine bitch who moved out well in profile. Head and eye okay, good ribbing and is longer than 3. In good coat. 3 Shuttleworth's Whicheeta Celtic Crusader OB (5,1) A very good class down the line. 1 Macqueen's Ch Azrakhan Capercaillie SHCM. Pleasing quality, and typical, feminine bitch of good size. Has a strong well balanced head, good ears and carriage, pleasing neckline and correct layback of shoulder. Ribs well back, level topline and pleasing in length, which is better than 2. Shown in excellent coat and order, and moved out very well. Overall a quality picture. Pleased to award her C.C & B.O.B. 2 McLeod's Esgia's Sula The Late Edition SHCM. Typical feminine bitch who is also of good size. Has a well proportioned head, pleasing neckline and forehand, ribs well back and is long enough. Held her topline at all times and moved out well. A confident happy showgirl, in typical quality coat. Carried her tail rather high, which detracted from the overall picture. Res CC. 3 Robson's Lynaire Shes No Lady With Mitsui. Res Miller's Ch Feorlig Something Wicked Mrs F Chapman-King |
