SEALYHAM JUDGE SOUTH WALES 09

Sealyham Terriers

An entry of 22, so not a big entry but still could not make everyone happy, but I did what I wanted to do right or wrong to some, but I judge dogs on the day. There are only a few firsts I can give so whoever is judging will only please a few.

PD & JD (0).

PGD

1 Champagne Castle Des Sablies Du Nord, Standard size dog, still needs to come on a little. Neat head, dark eye, good length of neck with good shoulders, in harsh jacket. Needs a little more body but is still young. Moved out well. RCC.

LD

1 Zippor White Rum, tan marked head, the over trimming was a little too much. Lovely temperament. Needs to come on. Handled well.

OD

A class of two. I was hoping I would get the chance to go over this worthy ch.

1 Ch Davmar Duty Free, head & skull to die for, good width between the ears, strong jaw with correct bite, correct front with good bone, level topline kept standing & moving, toplines generally were a problem dipping behind the shoulders. In harsh jacket, powerful hindquarters used when moving, I have heard a lot about this dog, oh he’s too big, well read the bottom of your Standard, general conformation, overall balance, type & substance are main criteria & he oozes all these. CC;

2 Plumhollow Seek Him Here Ornella, very much liked this one, very similar remarks to 1, in A1 condition, strong head, dark eye, good length of body, moved so well. When it came to the RCC something was just pulling me to the younger dog, I know he was smaller framed but sorry I could not ignore him, given the chance another day it could be different;

3 Leomona Star Struck.

PB

1 Cibach Crescendo, 10 months, I think the noise of the hall got to her as when moving she held her tail down but otherwise she is a lovely puppy. Nice head, eye & mouth, in very good coat, you should have some fun with her. BP.

JB

1 Cibach Candy Kisses, needs to come on a bit in head. Good bone, neat body. Needs to develop more. Handled well. PGB 1 Nomi’s New Day, nice head with good colour markings, nice ears, strong correct bite, dark in eye, medium length in body. Ribs need to spring that little more. Strong backend, moved out well. RCC;

2 Jacott Moonlight Serenade, very similar to 1, good head & ears, correct bite with strong jaw, correct well let down chest. Just dipping her topline when moving but I did liked her a lot, should go on to better things given the chance;

3 Ornella Tegwens Tango.

LB

1 Tommarv Ruby Sunday, loved this Standard size bitch & handled as always by a very good handler, so nice to see youngsters in any breed doing it so well, bitch of good substance, good front & feet, enough bone, good topline on the table & moving, good backend with strong movement;

2 Cibach Cariad, very similar to 1 but needs to tighten up in topline, it spoilt a few. Very good front & bone, good body depth;

3 Jacott Starlight.

OB

1 Ch New Beginning, I have judged this young lady when I gave her BPIS at a terrier & gundog show & she was very young, I looked at my notes from then & I had written a star in the making & should get made up, well I am happy to say she did & a very worthy ch at that. Fills the eye & oozes quality, cracking head, I would not change a thing on her, good strong front, good bone, correct shoulder placement that helps her move so well & lovely body, correct tail placement, strong backend that she uses when driving from behind. CC & BOB;

2 Ch Star Appeal, cracking bitch but a little overweight but again she fills one’s eye & you can see the quality in her. Handled & moved well.
