SEALYHAM NATIONAL TERRIER 19 Judge: Mr D Winsley BEST OF BREED : 931 BETTIS Mr L & Mrs D Ch Ornella Country Living Sh.CM SEALYHAM JUDGE NATIONAL TERRIER 19 I was very disappointed in the quality of the breed right now, especially the males! Hence my decision to withhold the RCC, not something I did lightly. The RCC states the dog named above 'is of such outstanding merit as to be worthy of being awarded the Challenge Certificate should the Challenge Certificate winner be disqualified'. Breeders need to breed to the standard and not adapt it to suit what they are showing. By keeping the best there is a chance to improve the breed, otherwise quality will spiral downhill. I'm aware my decisions were not what people wanted, but I'm not judging to make friends, at the end of the day I have this breed at heart. 1 Lee's Overbore Semi's In Russia. This youngster is well up to size for his age, tall at the moment, hope he stops growing. Tan markede head, good length of head with a nicely domed skull, ears on the small side, nice dark eye, good neck, front needs to improve. Good spring of rib, correct tail set, moved well behind, better presentation would enhance him better. 1 Moakes' Jacott Sunset Of Jomoaka. Tan marked boy who looks nice standing. I felt he was rather narrow all through, needs to fill out in body and chest, he does have a very pleasing head, good length, doming and ear placement, good neck, rather narrow in front which affects his front movement, rather tall at this time, hope he drops with age, good hindquarters, plenty behind the tail and moves well behind, in a sparkling white coat and with good presentation. 1 Bettis' Ornella Lover Boy. Badger marked boy who is good for size. I liked his head, it has good length with a correct width of skull and nicely domed. Good neck and shoulders, nice front, good spring of rib, needs to drop in body for better balance, well made hindquarters, could have a better tail set, in good coat and condition, free, easy mover in this class, unfortunately not happy with another handler in the challenge. 1 Jones & Bull's Oldstable Bruce Banner. This boy has a pleasing head for length, good proportions, nice dark eye, good length of neck, needs better shoulder angulation and width in front, good forechest but needs to drop, a little lean through his body. A shade long in his coupling, nice turn of stifle and tail set. Moves happily but not the correct parallel movement. Nicely presented. RBD. 2 Jung's Knocking On Heaven's Door Von Der Loewenburg. Smaller type of male and is a little square to me. Has a very appealing head shape and length. Good neck and shoulders, nice front, good body shape, level topline with a good tail set. In good coat and condition, an active mover. 3 Smith's Dudwell Hickory Higgins At Grevenia. 1 Wonnacott's Jacott Dancers Welsh Wizard. This boy is very nice but just too tall, hope he drops through his body, he has a very nice head, masculine but no signs of coarseness. Good length on neck and level topline, would prefer a better front, has a good body and a strongly made back end, correct tail set, in nice coat and presentation. He does have a good driving action when he moves away. 1 Bettis' Ch Ornella Country Living. Nicely balanced dog, tan marked. Masculine head with good length, width between the ears and narrowing towards the eye, well filled foreface, good neck and shoulders, straight parallel front, good width of chest, mature body and good spring of ribs, level topline with a correct tail set, well made hindquarters, plenty behind the tail, in good coat and presentation, free, easy, sound mover and showed well. CC and BOB. 1 Wonnacott's Jacott Sunshine. Quite a finished looking young lady, feminine outlook. Good for size and shape. Good head, good length of neck and front, well made body with a good spring of rib, level topline and tail set, in nice coat, very active and moves really well when she decides to settle. BP. 2 Lewis' Nomis New Edition. This girl is very similar to first. Nice shape and outline, mature body with nice ribbing. Well constructed hindquarters and correct tailset. Another who moves well when she's allowed to go at her own pace. Unfortunately today didn't have the best of top coats. I'm sure these two will swap places many times. 3 Roberts' Ladeler Peppy Of Wrexham. 1 Lewis' Nomis New Edition. 2 Roberts' Ladeler Peppy Of Wrexham. Just 6 mths old and very much a raw baby. I thought she coped with the noisy hall very well, pleasing head shape, very feminine, nice balance when stacked, obviously needs to tighten up all round when she moves. Her coat is what's expected in a baby. Sweet temperament. 1 Smith's Dudwell Golden Girl Gwenny At Grevenia. Black marked girl who has a nice outline, good length of head and well placed ears. I would like a better filled foreface. Needs to mature in body, front rather loose, well made hindquarters and correct tail set, she has a good harsh coat, nicely presented, moves well behind for her accomplished young handler. 2 Jones' Jacott Dancers Welsh Beauty. Tan marked girl of a good size and overall shape. I liked her head, correct ear placement and she uses them. Good neck and shoulders, well made body with muscular hindquarters, good tail set, nice coat and a free, easy mover. 3 Lee's Zippor Miss Fairy Footsteps. 1 Clark's Firstwish Serabel At Fennekin. Very feminine girl of a nice size and balanced shape. Nice head that has length without weakness. Good reach of neck and shoulders, pleasing straight front. Mature body of the correct shape, level in topline, well made hindquarters with a good turn of stifle, a sound mover both ways. In a very nice coat and presentation first class. I seriously considered her for the RCC but as she did her final walk, someone made a loud noise which upset her. Her day will come. 2 Jones & Bull's Ornella Idaknow. A size bigger than first and not quite as balanced, she does have a lovely head for length and shape, nice dark eye and expression, good mature body, nice turn of stifle and tail set, in good coat and presentation, moves steadily. 3 Oulton & Fourie's Seasmolt Sassy Sunflower Of Whooperhill. OB (2) 1 Jung's Ch Hermione Granger Von Der Loewnburg. Badger marked girl. Very mature girl, really liked her head, very nice length and balanced, good dark eye, nicely balanced outline, just the right length of leg and length of back, good neck and shoulders, straight front and well developed chest, well made hindquarters which she uses well, correct tailset, in nice coat and condition, shows and moves steadily. Pleased to award her the CC which gives her her UK title (subject to KC approval). BOS. 2 Tobijanski's Ch Zippor Miss Skye. I have admired this girl before but never handled her. She is lovely, gives away a lot in age to the winner, very pleasing head and expression, good neck and shoulders, level topline, nice front, not as filled out and mature in body as the winner but this will come as she matures. She has plenty behind the tail so no need to trim her hindquarters so excessively. In a quality coat and a lovely sound mover. RCC.
