SEALYHAM JUDGE LKA 11

Sealyham Terriers

PD (1)

1 Scott’s Saore Little Cream Soda, blue marked youngster who already has that ‘ring presence’, nice head for length & good doming, dark well shaped eye. Balanced head & strong foreface, mouth good. Neat well placed ears, good neck & shoulders, level topline. Enough forechest for this age, straight front. Nice body, he is a little leggy at this age but he is sure to drop with age. He has a great back-end, very good turn of stifle with short hocks. Correct tailset & carriage, nice texture to his immaculately prepared coat. Moved from behind with a true sound action, showed very well. BP & RCC.

LD (1)

1 Titchmarsh’s Ornella Mini Cooper, tan marked, head of good length & nicely domed, would just prefer less width to his skull. Dark eye, strong in muzzle & well placed ears. Good neck, shoulders well angulated but just a little on the heavy side, topline could be a little firmer. Well made body with substance & low to ground, good hindquarters. Moved a touch wide in front but sound behind, needs more enthusiasm on the move to show more of a driving action, a bit laid back. Coat quality good but needs more attention to give it a better finish.

OD (3)

1 Scott’s Dan/Int Ch Whitepepper’s Othello, badger marked mature male. Head has to be handled to appreciate its quality. Equal length to head & well domed, dark eye of correct shape. Well placed ears, strong muscular neck & good forechest. Straight front with good movement, well angulated shoulders. His length is good, low to ground & balanced, topline level with the correct tailset. Good spring of rib & carrying enough substance to give him balance. Strong well made hindquarters, plenty of power here & sound as a bell! He was presented is sparkling condition, coat crystal white of good texture & not overdone in furnishing. Moved & showed like the ch he is. CC, his third & BOB;

2 Wonnacott’s Ch Whitepepper’s Saturday Night Fever at Jacott, son of 1, is a size smaller & tends to have a smaller head. Head of good length & balanced, would like more strength in foreface. Good neck & shoulders, straight front with good forechest, could have been a bit more positive in front action. Pleasing body for overall shape & substance, low to ground. Good hindquarters which he uses well, positive driving action, tailset I would like a little higher. Coat of first class quality & preparation, clean & sparkling. Showed well;

3 Bettis’s Ch Plumhollow Seek Him Here Ornella. VD (0).

JB (4)

A difficult class, three all different types.

1 Lewis’ Nomis Numero Uno, black marked youngster, not a true Sealyham head. Skull tending to be a bit strong, would like more refinement & needs more length of foreface. Dark eye of correct shape, well placed ears with good length to neck. Rather heavy in shoulders so this affected her front action, well made body & low to ground. She has strong hindquarters, good turn of stifle & moves with purpose, tailset just a little bit low when on the move. In good coat & shows well;

2 Wonnacott’s Jacott Joy Bells, less mature than 1, preferred her head which was long & lean in shape, eye a bit on the bigger side. Nice body which still needs to drop so she is lower to ground. Good tailset & plenty behind her tail. Front movement a little erratic but positive driving action behind. She has a nice quality coat & was well prepared, will improve with age;

3 Tobijanski’s Zippor Break A Leg.

PGB (1)

1 Bettis’ Ornella Bella Swan, blue marked youngster who is not all together yet. She has in my opinion the best head here today, good length, lean with correct doming, nice dark eye & well placed ears. Her neck is of a good length, shoulder angulation good & needs to get more forechest. Rather long cast in body which spoilt her overall balance, good hindquarters but could have moved with a more positive attitude. Topline not level, needs to mature & body up. Not in the best of coats today, hopefully will improve with age & maturity.

LB (4)

Another difficult class.

1 Wonnacott’s Jacott Moonlight Serenade, I felt she was rather strong in head, eye could be darker but she has a strong foreface & big teeth. Clean muscular neck, good shoulders with a good forechest. In a good body that carries substance, low to ground, overall shape balanced. Well made hindquarters, correct tailset, with plenty behind the tail. Moves well behind, in a clean harsh jacket that was well presented. Won this class on overall balance. RCC;

2 Friedlander’s Fondant Fancy, tan marked girl who showed with lots of confidence. Better in head than 1 though still a touch strong for me, neat smaller ears. Good in neck & shoulder, straight front. Carrying a terrific body, plenty of substance here & low to ground. Good hindquarters, tailset correct, sound behind. Not quite the outline of 1 & coat texture not quite as harsh but a solid bitch;

3 Jones’ Tommarv Ruby Sunday.

OB (2)

1 Lewis’ Ch Nomis New Day, blue marked, pleasing head for balance & doming, nice dark eye with well placed ears. Good neck & shoulders, straight front, low to ground. Carrying a nicely balanced body with strong hindquarters, correct tailset & has plenty behind the tail. Moved with attitude & clean driving action today, in a harsh body coat but carrying too much superfluous furnishings which detract from the final balanced picture. CC;

2 Lewis’ Ornella Mini Neon Now Ornella, smaller type of bitch, has a shorter ‘chunky’ head type, smaller ears & would prefer a better ear set. Low to ground, body could be a touch longer for better balance. Well made behind, moves better here than in front. Correct tailset & carriage, in a straight harsh coat, topline not 100 per cent. More refined in bone & substance.

VB (1)

1 Jones’ Tommarv Scarlett Ribbons, tan marked lady who was well shown by her young handler. Feminine in head & nicely domed skull, well shaped eye & outlook. Moves a little wayward in front, in terrific body & condition. Keeps her level topline on the move, correct tailset. Coat not at its best. This lady moved with a lot more driving action than many younger ones today. Good for 10 years. BV.
