Sealyham Terriers

Thank you to the Crufts committee for the honour of judging, & to the whole team for looking after me so well.

1 Gledhill’s Forlegd Brilliant Bilbo Baggins, smart youngster of good size, tan markings to well balanced head, good length to muzzle, good bite, good forequarters, nicely ribbed, level topline, rearquarters could have more strength & width but time is on his side. Good texture to coat that was well presented.

LD (3,1a)

1 Winsley’s Eleighwater Alfio, beautifully presented dog, masculine head with good width between ears & correct length to muzzle with a good bite. Lovely arched neck leading to well placed shoulders, straight legs, well sprung ribs & length of loin. Well developed rearquarters, shown at best through his brisk lively movement, keeps topline level while moving. RCC;

2 Smith’s Charmer’s Marvel, attractive tan marked dog who did not have the length of loin of 1, slightly square in outline, good head with attractive dark eye, good bite. Well placed forequarters, super topline, strong rearquarters. Excellent hard coat. Moved & shown well.

OD (5,4)

1 Bettis’ Ch Dudwell Double Decca D’Ornella, beautifully balanced dog wearing an excellent harsh coat. I like his width of skull & length of muzzle, good bite, kindly dark eye, & neat well set ears. Super neck & shoulders, good depth of chest, ribs well sprung & of good length, level topline, strong powerful quarters with plenty of rear behind the tail. Moving soundly with panache. CC.

1 Daly’s Forlegd Bubbly Belladonna Baggins at Thornberryhall, good class of youngsters. What a sassy young lady, did not stop showing, stood free-standing for her handler. Stunning shape to her feminine head, topped with attractive tan marked ears, good bite, good length of neck, well placed shoulders, straight legs, good topline, shapely rear, protruding beyond her tail. Excellent coat in top condition. Presented a superb picture, took a long look at her in the challenge, but needs a little more substance to challenge the best. Plenty of time on her hands, I look forward to seeing her mature. RCC;

2 Sacco’s Naughty Princess, beautiful bitch of substance & shape, most attractive head, with lovely dark eye, & good bite. Good width to chest, well placed shoulders & straight legs. Level topline, well developed rearquarters. Moves soundly. Excellent presentation, just not helping her handler today, so aptly named;

3 Bettis’ Dudwell Eadlyn Exclusive Edition by Ornella, finishing off a fine trio of bitches, she also has a well balanced feminine head. Good front quarters, level topline & good shape to body, just needs to strengthen in rearquarters to finish the picture. Shown in fine fettle, & moving well.

PGB (2)

1 Jones’ Ornella Idaknow, larger stamp of bitch, but won with ease today. Attractive dark markings to her well shaped head & ears. Good length of muzzle with good bite. Well made neck & shoulders, level topline, but tends to rise over the loins when standing. Moved soundly, shown to advantage;

2 Trezise-Dundas’ Cibach Cheeky Chops at Firstwish, low to ground bitch, & slightly longer cast. Good balance to head, with domed skull, dark eye & good bite. Front & rearquarters good, but soft topline spoils her outline.

LB (6)

1 Wonnacott’s Jacott Jubilee Queen, another good class which this quality bitch tops with her well balanced outline, size & substance & lovely feminine head. Good length to muzzle with good bite. Well placed shoulders, good width to chest & well sprung ribs. This bitch is well muscled which showed in her sound movement. Lovely texture to coat that was so well presented;

2 Oulton & Fourie’s Seasmolt Sassy Sunflower of Whooperhill, close decision between 2 & 3, but preferred this bitch for her balanced outline. Lovely tan marked head, very good forequarters, level topline, not as strong in rearquarters as 1. Moving well & looking a picture. Handled to get the best out of her. I see 1 & 2 are by the same sire, good to see his qualities being passed on;

3 Tobijanski’s Zippor Sapphire Jones, beautifully presented, she has a lovely domed head with dark eyes & spotty neat ears. Good bite. Slightly longer cast than 1 & 2, & she doesn’t always hold her topline. Lovely texture to smart white coat.

OB (7,1)

1 Jung’s Ger/Nor/It/Int Ch Hermione Granger von der Lowenburg, another great class, this bitch has style & good balance. Beautiful tan marked head, good width between her neat ears, clean cheeks & good length to muzzle. Good bite. Good front quarters, with width to chest & straight legs, good shoulder placement giving length to neck. Strong level topline, powerful hindquarters, which she uses to advantage on the move. Excellent texture to coat, so beautifully presented. A true Sealyham to be proud of. CC & BOB;

2 Winsley’s Ch Eleighwater Araminta, a size up from 1, but well balanced, lovely feminine head with kindly dark eye. Good length to muzzle, good bite. Super neck & well placed shoulders, good spring of rib going well back. Could have more rear behind the tail, but she uses her hindquarters with drive while moving. Beautifully presented;

3 Weser’s Dan Ch Dudwell Call Me Crisby Cuddles, giving her handler a hard time, but she deserved her place. A lovely balanced Sealyham, super headed bitch, good forequarters, good length of neck, level topline, good rear angulation. Moved well when she put her mind to it!
