Scottish Terriers

PD

1 Plane’s Stuane Kings Sword, 10 months & out of the top drawer, what an exciting puppy to start the show with. Clean skull of good length with well placed ears, typical eyes & good strength of foreface all helping to create excellent expression. Powerful but cleanly crested neck, strong bone, unusually straight front with already well filled forechest, excellent spring of rib, firm topline, excellent set on, well let down rear & excellent harsh jacket. Moved soundly & with great attitude. A star of the future I am sure. CC & BP, just lost out to his dam on maturity but it was by no means a walkover;

2 Annan’s Lomondview Man In Black, 8 months less mature, good basic head type, not as true in front as 1, lighter in body condition & not as firm in topline. For all that he moved true going away when he concentrated.

PGD

1 Todd’s Eskwyre Waterloo Sunset, masculine head with typical expression, enough bone, a little long coupled, topline could be firmer & coat needs to settle. Made the best of himself on the move.

LD

1 Pollock’s Millingford Winter Lion, good basic type but rather thick through the backskull & a little long coupled which is rather emphasised by slightly slack tail carriage. Topline tends to break, well boned & moved quite well.

OD

1 Green & Farrand’s Royal Dragoon Captain Colin Campbell, very solid & well ribbed, ultra compact yet he still manages to move out well behind though there is a tendency to scrabble in front. Decent headpiece, firm backline, rather stuffy in neck, good set on but could have more behind the tail which is where the puppy beat him & he also moved more freely in front in the challenge. RCC;

2 Rutherford’s Carisco Midas Touch, wheaten of good overall type, not quite as clean in backskull as 1 and rather longer coupled. Makes a very impressive picture stacked, nicely ribbed & well presented but could be firmer in both topline & hock.

VD (0).

PB

1 Annan’s Lomondview Signature, 8 months brindle full of type & very forward for her age. Excellent head & expression, impressive flow of neck into topline, good strong bone, well ribbed, promising coat. Free & purposeful mover with lots of attitude. Brimful of quality & type. RCC;

2 Plane’s Stuane Sword Dancer, although 10 months old looked far less finished than 1. Very feminine package all through, nicely put together with good overall balance & again she has attitude. Not quite as free moving as 1 but should finish up well with full maturity.

PGB

1 Herd’s Tatler Tweedbank at Feregait, young brindle with beautiful head & expression, nicely boned & bodied but topline needs to settle & with maturity she should drop into her rear, sound & steady mover with excellent coat well presented.

LB (0).

OB

1 Plane’s Ch Stuane Florette, fully mature brindle in superb form, pleasing head, wonderful neck, topline & set on, fantastic spring of rib, strong bone, wonderful coat, moved with great determination & accuracy. On the table stands so well on her legs & is a joy to handle. She won a group under me when she was barely out of puppy, so it was good to meet her again in the breed & still be equally impressed; more so when I discovered that she has also proved her worth in the whelping box as she is the dam of the very exciting DCC winning puppy. CC & BOB;

2 Annan’s Lomondview Athol Rose, younger & not as finished in body as 1 but she has an excellent head & expression, ample bone, good jacket but is a fraction longer cast than 1. Another who impressed on the move.

VB

1 Annan’s Lomondview Catalina, 10 year brindle in fine fettle, feminine head, teeth in great shape, nicely boned & ribbed, tail carriage a little slack at times but at her age that’s no big deal, excellent coat well presented, moved steadily.
