SCOTTISH SKC MAY 13 Judge(s): MRS D J SHARPLES Scottish Terriers Many thanks to the committee for inviting me to judge & to the exhibitors for travelling & entering under me. The entry was small but I think it was a good one with some lovely dogs to go over. I must add that all the dogs behaved & showed well & were not put off by being in a very noisy hall with a loudspeaker continually going off. PD (1) 1 Todd’s Eskwyre Waterloo Sunset, black 7 months puppy who stood alone. Still very much a baby, balanced head, dark eye, correct bite, good shoulder, level topline, good rear angulation. Moved OK. Needs time to grow up. JD (2) 1 Beckton’s Glengracie Formula One, really liked this dog, an eyecatching 15 months wheaten, in good coat, balanced head, good expression, dark eye, used his ears well, correct shoulders & straight front, short back, good bone, low to ground, deep ribs, good angulation, correct tail placement, moved well around the ring keeping his topline all the time. RCC; 2 Meek’s Benartybrae Macarena, wheaten dog, 16 months, good head with neat ears, correct dentition, dark eye, good body; deep ribs, correct tailset, in excellent coat & condition. Moved well around the ring. PGD (1) 1 Rutherford’s Carisco Midas Touch, very nice wheaten dog, balanced head, dark eye, correct dentition, good front, well placed shoulders, good bone, level topline, well rounded ribs, short back, correct rear angulation, moved with drive around the ring. Really pushed hard in the challenge. LD (3) 1 Annan’s Lomondview Copper Coin, I really liked this dog as soon as he came into the ring & he didn’t disappoint. Quality dark brindle, lovely balanced head with well placed ears which he used well, dark eye with very calm expression, correct bite, straight front, correct neck & shoulders, good bone, short, good body proportions & ribs, low to ground, good rear angulation. Moved with drive around the ring. CC; 2 B Macarena; 3 Pollock’s Millingford Winter Lion. OD (2) 1 Rutherford’s Carisco My Leading Man, black dog, good head, dark eye, plenty of bone & body, good rear angulation, short back, appears to run up, correct tailset. In excellent coat & condition, moved with drive; 2 Coley Ch Kingsview Just Stewart, brindle dog in excellent coat & condition, balanced head, dark eye, correct shoulder placement, level topline kept on the move. Uses himself to advantage in the ring. Would have just preferred more bone & substance. PB (1) 1 Morris’ Terratom Chiquitita at Scotchmore, very pretty, 11 months brindle puppy bitch, balanced head with neat ears, dark eye, straight front, correct shoulders, good body & ribs, short back, correct tailset, moved well. BP. JB (0). PGB (1) 1 Brown’s My Little Sweetie, pretty bitch who stood alone in her class, good head, dark eye, level topline kept on the move, coat in good condition. Moved well. LB (3) 1 Annan’s Lomondview Athol Rose, smart, lively little bitch, black, balanced head, correct expression with dark eye, neat ears, straight front, good shoulders & neck, short back, good ribs & low to ground. Moved freely around the ring keeping her shape all the time. Lovely attitude in the ring; 2 My Little Sweetie. OB My best class of the day with some lovely bitches in it. 1 Plane’s Ch Stuane Florette, beautiful brindle bitch who oozes quality, lovely balanced head, correct expression, dark eye, neat ears, straight front, correct shoulders & neck, lovely run in, good bone & substance, short back, deep ribs, low to ground, correct rear angulation, tail well set. Moved freely around the ring & coming & going, a pleasure to watch. To me everything a Scottie should be. CC & BOB. Lovely to hear that she represented the breed so well in the group winning G3, so sorry I couldn’t stay to watch her; 2 Kenny’s Ch Millingford Cloudberry, another lovely bitch, smaller than 1 but has everything in the right proportions. Very pretty, balanced head, dark eye, neat ears that she used well. Good front & shoulders, short back, good bone, correct deep ribs, low to ground, good rear angulation & correct tailset. Moved well, lovely to watch her going around the ring. RCC; 3 Kelly’s Ch Glenboig Lady Gaga at Carseview. DENISE SHARPLES |
