SCOTTISH JUDGE MANCHESTER 17

Scottish Terriers

A pleasure to judge this breed, nearly all displayed good sportsmanship.

PD (1)

1 Boyce’s Trakside Mr Goodbar, 9 months cheeky chap, just as he should be, so full of personality. Neat ear, head not too broad. Has well developed ribs & level, short back. Good width behind. Uses himself well on the move. Decent coat. BP.

JD (2)

1 Farrand’s Ceilidh Quantum Maxxum at Amberyl, smart, sassy. Very true in head proportions, small pointed ear used to display personality. Muscular neck which is of length to give correct balance of outline. Has the depth & spring of rib & topline bang on. Good width behind with strong hocks to provide drive. Tail is thick at root & carried straight up. His overall balanced type gave him the edge. CC & BOB;

2 Coley’s Kingsview Just Samuel, one with a future here. His sound action comes from his pleasing construction. Clean long head, corresponding neckline. Has brisket & depth. Well made body & power behind, goes well. Decent coat.

PGD (3,1)

1 Pagram’s Torcraig Golden Chance, 2 year old solidly made. Sound performer showing off his virtues. He has type & muscle. Presented well in good coat, with harsh top coat. Could be a touch cleaner in neckline;

2 Harrison-Brown’s Trefaldwyn King David, when he sets himself up, he presents a decent picture of type. Well boned & strong set on. All male, not always concentrating.

LD (2,1)

1 Pagram’s Torcraig Sydnificant, 3 year old, of decent make & shape. Has long head with small pointed ear. Strength in foreface with good underjaw. Big body & ribs tapering to provide correct elbow placement. Super presentation, would just like slightly higher tail set. RCC.

VD (1)

1 Hill’s Polwicks Black Tourmaline of Tahgmor, this veteran, still enjoying his day, he knows his job & performed eloquently. Powerful in good condition & harsh top coat. Firm topline to good set on. Right up there.

PB (6,2)

1 Kenny Marriott & Marriott’s Pandora’s Box at Millingford, 10 months. Has maturity throughout. Clean skull & cheeks, strong underjaw. Decent length of neck & short powerful body to give balance & typical shape. Has thrust in front from correct shoulder placement & power behind. Holds her outline;

2 Khenkina’s Gemma Stonehenge Vive La Vie, just 6 months. So giving some against winner. Feminine with typical shape standing & going, which she does with confidence. Should grow on well;

3 Khenkina’s Gemma Stonehenge Banda Dorada.

JB (3,2)

1 Hill’s Skircoat Semibreve at Tahgmor, strongly made with correct jacket. Long head , clean cheeks, strong jaw. Flowing outline with level back to good tail strong at root. Has bum & muscle to quarters.

PGB (3,1)

1 Chapman, Bradley & Herd’s Brueik Tickled Pink by Berrybreeze, I have written ‘quite fell for this 20 month bitch.’ Lovely to look at & did not let me down on the move. Beautiful head strong dry & balanced. Has neck to provide carriage. Plenty of body, brisket & depth with legs situated to provide ease of action, therefore goes with true foot fall, coupled with propulsion & drive. I was still on her, in the challenge, consequently. CC;

2 Hill’s Skircoat Sicilienne of Tahgmor, typical in headpiece, nothing overdone but has the required length & strength. Stout in body & firm throughout. Not always concentrating today.

LB (2)

1 Kenny-Marriott, Marriott & Kirk’s Millingford Fire Queen, has a lot going for her. Decent skull, clean cheeks, length in foreface to provide balance. Neck is muscular & has the length required for carriage. This one performs to advantage. In excellent coat with harsh, well prepared top coat, which covered her strong well made body. Has forechest, Substance, depth & developed ribs. Good width to bum with tail on top. RCC;

2 S Sicilienne of T.

OB (6,1)

1 Pagram’s Ch Torcraig Sea Pearl, won by a whisker to grand bitch in 2. Short with big body & firm back. Has a typical head with balance & length. Punishing muzzle with big nose. Goes with ease & terrier spark, covering the ground efficiently. Quality bitch, would just like a touch more neck;

2 Rutherford’s Carisco My Leading Lady, grand sort. Very honest. Appeals in headpiece. Honest all through with muscular quarters. Good outline & balance, standing & on the move. Good presentation;

3 Chapman’s Berrybreeze Born To Boogie.
